....so good to me--& yep, Liz, everyday, we can say that! Good morning all
Some real LOLers on yesterday's posts!!! bt ACK the nasty dreams! Thanks Irmi--yep, keeping tabs on all the doings can be a foll-time job! Bt I try! I've been all over this forem for abot an hr this a.m. Seems like everyone's noticed all the mini GTGs! Trewly awesome! Has it always been this way, or is this another "flooke" of the "yew-niverse"??? Whatever, can't wait to get on the road, so I hope Dec 21 isn't the end of time!
Made cookies yesterday with bro. Italians owt there? This was owr fifth year of carrying on the tradition of making the "cooccidatas" (so many spellings of that, bt I think it has a "yew" instead of the "oo," bt yew all know my problem)--those time & labor intensive fig-filled cookies. From as far back as I can recall, I gained 2-3 lbs each Cmas from eating so many of them!!! Ah, the delights of reminiscing abot those family traditions, bt anticipating an incredible life ahead of me ON THE ROAD! Catherine & who else? having good role-models for the foll-timing lifestyle. & those of yew already foll-timing, sitting there, smiling, knowing what it's like & knowing we'll probably be saying "why didn't I do this sooner?"! Y'all have a great day! & as always, be safe wherever yew are!

Morning Carolb and all that follow.
Those cookies sound really good no matter how you spell them.
Today will busy day. Going to meet DD to give her all the legal papers I have had drawn up in case anything ever happens to me. We are going to have lunch together one last time before I start heading east. Figure it will be about a year before we are back this way again. Then Paul and I have to go to CW to pick up the hose fittings I need to get my sewer hose situation fixed for good along with our Extend A Stay kits. Need to get a couple more spice racks and replacement light bulbs just to have on hand.
Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning friends,
I had an eventful day yesterday went to church then out to lunch with my daughter and grandson's girlfriend, then to the movie Lincoln, my other grandson's girlfriend met us there... I was worn out so did not get to the concert at church... was in bed by 6:30 watched some tv then went to sleep... did not even read which is my normal... love to read with my Kindle... that was my birthday surprise along with a hand made dish cloth Margie made...
Those cookies sound delightful... my sister had a recipe may be the same ones... Oh Dawn I hope you get the sewer hose configuration figured out...
Well I am off to get ready to go to the Urologist today and maybe find a shop to get a few things...
I am not a shopper! but have a coupon for 50% off at Catherines... I will also take my computer in for repair so will be missing in action for a while... lol
What is your day like?
Keep smiling always
Kathleen

Good morning Everyone !! I shouldn't be on here, time to move on and several things to do, but coffee first !!!
Said good bye to Sarah last night and then came in wishing I could stay longer. Maggie and I, must do our last walk, for this time, along the Tn. river. I don't plan an early departure, no rush, have a couple of places to stop in mind for tonight, don't care how far I get. I really shouldn't take forever getting to my next stopping off place though, but I refuse to rush too.
Have a great day everyone, enjoy every minute of this day, remember as Soos says it is only here once, so please enjoy !! Several are traveling besides me, so take care ladies and stay safe,
CArol
I posted and saw time was way after 9, it is not that here, MUCH earlier, couldn't have you all thinking I am really slow , it might be that time when I leave though, if I don't get moving,

Good morning all!! Carol, those cookies sound wonderful. Would you share the recipe?? I too wish I was out on the road as a full timer. I didn't make it to the Ahmad and the Night Visitors last night (sorry Maggie). I had a fever and went to bed.
The firewood man is going to deliver a cord of wood this AM. With the way the weather has been I wonder if we'll use much this year. It got up to the 80s yesterday and expected to do the same today
Anyway I have to move my car and Sally (66 mustang) so they can stack the firewood in the spot DH wants it!! Then I'm off to the urologist and neurologist appointments. Fun. NOT. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good Morning gals,
Just popping in quick to say hi to everybody. Got a busy slate today with gym, appt. and a few errands. Need to be out the door in about 12 minutes here, but couldn't run off without at least checking in.
Enjoyed the laughs from yesterdays posts. And also the stories and pic of the mini GTG's. Yep, Carol, I too can't wait to be able to get out and meet some of you wonderful people. If the world doen'st end on Dec. 21st as we know it, I am hoping ot fulfill that dream. Looks like some intersting things gonna happen aruond that time according to NASA. We shall see.
Anyway, her's hoping you all have a great day today, keep happy, health and safe everybody.

Red - you missed a good performance. Plus it was good to see my friends, even if it was briefly.
And yes, you may not be using much firewood. It was 67 this morning when I left for work. At least we got a tiny bit of rain.
I'm getting excited about my trip to AZ. My plans are very jello-like at this point. A lot of it will be determined by the weather patterns. The only place that I'm really worried about the Land Dinghy is at the Grand Canyon itself. Every place else I want to go we should be in good shape. I will let Beth and Ava know more of my plans as time gets closer so that maybe we can do a GTG.
My boss brought me so Greek treats this morning. His Greek Orthodox church does a huge bake sale in December as a primary fundraiser. He even told me some of the treats may have been made by his wife.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
Now that it's nearly noon, I have made it to coffee hour! It is overcast here today, so my eyelids told me it wasn't time to get up until nearly 9:00! Surprised me that the dogs also slept that late.
So far, I have called the pharmacies to get my prescriptions faxed to the Publix drug store down here, including Dinah's phenobarbitol for (possibly) epilepsy. We shall see how that goes, as I need to refill hers very soon, and mine later on.
Now I need to call my house insurance agent to see if he has found me an insurance company to take the place of whoever I have now as they are not renewing any policies in FL. Then possibly off to Sea World to get my new season's pass which I paid for last month.
Hope you all have a fun day for yourselves.

Maggie, looking forward to meeting you (hopefully!)
CArol, the time it shows on your computer for your post, is the time YOU have set in your control panel. So what we see is totally different. I haven't reset mine, so it shows a couple hours later than it really is here ... someday I'll do that. (Soos is talking about it being almost noon above - my screen here on WRV shows 11:08 - set on central time - is only 9:08 here) see how I manage to confuse myself
I'm betting you set yours to your Eastern time zone and have traveled to the central time zone. Heading back to eastern soon, though! (Did I totally confuse you ... hahaha)
Early morning today - did a shop that had to be done early. Yep, me, up before sunrise ... Peaches got right in the car without going potty first. After the shop, she got a good walk. She's an amazing dog. I intended to give her a little walk first, but when she knew we were going in the car, she went straight from bed, to car ....
Home now, and trying to scan something ... scanner acting up. Going to unplug it and start over.

Good Morning,
Not much happening here today - Christmas cards and few decorations that didn't get done yesterday. RZR is having another day of repairs so no temptation to go for a ride!
CArol, I hope I can get into the no hurry to leave mode when I get back on the road! I am not a morning person to begin with, but with the 5er, I always was in a hurry in case something went wrong and stressing over backing into a site! Things can still go wrong with the truck and camper, but seems more manageable.
Planned to sign up for a Fantasy RV Rally for a week in New York City next September - tour is already full! Adventure Caravan has a similar tour and still has room tho I know nothing about them. Only way I am ever going to see that much of NYC. Adventure Caravan does have a couple things on the itinerary I care nothing about - like the Today show - I won't even watch that on TV since they hired Kathy Lee Gifford!
Happy for all of you on the road - safe travels!!

Peaches sounds like me, always ready to go somewhere. If someone calls for me to go I drop whatever I'm doing and take off. Would like to travel like CArol. Get up and drink coffee then mosey down the road a ways. All my trips are hurry to get there and then hurry to get back.
I never change my watch when I travel so I stay really confused. Speaking of watches, the crystal on my watch is really scratched. I wonder if a jewelry store can change them or do they need to be sent off.
It's warm here again but very windy and humid. At night the grass is so wet it looks like it rained. We have a few days of possible rain coming up.
The talk about the fig cookies made me dig out some fig preserves. It's not often that I eat jelly but a jar of figs doesn't last long around here. I tried several times to get a fig tree to grow and when I finally had one live, Hurricane Rita took it out. There's a big one across the road but it hasn't produced the last couple of years.
I would get out my poor little Christmas tree but my DH has taken over the table I put it on. I have to rehome all his junk. I love the Poinsettias and Walmart puts them in the front door so you can't miss them. I just hate to sign ones death sentence by buying it. One of my bosses would give us a big beautiful one every year but I'm too cheap to buy one like that. I have a fake one but it's starting to look kind of sad.

All the talk of figs has me wanting go go get a jar of fig preserves to mix a little with some Mascarpone cheese and spread it on a hot English Muffin OH YUM. I don't care much for figs any other way though for some reason.
I took my glasses in today and they were able to fix them by putting new covers on the ends of the chewed up ear pieces!!! I was a happy camper. I wasn't happy though when they couldn't give me a copy of my prescription because it came from another optometrist, nor would they tell me or give me the PD number you need to order online.
I can't believe, now I have to make another trip, of course I shouldn't have lost the copy I had.... but
Soos, have you checked with AARP for your insurance? If you are working with I think it is called a consolidator they will find you the best offers. I know it's a hassle but I've read and found out so far it's true that you can keep costs down by changing companies every 2-3 years as most give you a good rate to begin with then start raising it each year.

I really slept in today--10:30 am! That is a lot for me, but I was up an hour or so in the middle of the night. I took a 3 mile beach walk yesterday, and my back, legs, knees, and even my feet were aching me. I need to build up to that distance, not try it all at once, but there was a pier I could see in the distance and managed to walk to it.
I need to get busy posting to my blog, but I have a ton of really thick papers to grade, so I am sitting "home" today getting some of them done. It rained all night and looks a bit drizzly, so I don't mind an indoor day, especially with all my muscle aches! Got a couple of projects to work on also when I get bored with grading papers.
This campground and particularly my camping spot looks like a jungle. There are huge live oaks with very thick spreading branches. Then underneath are a lot of palmettos and hanging vines. Will try to take a photo later.

The Mini GTGs have happened for yrs.along with the larger planned ones...(well, since 2008 when this forum was started).....
We've always go on the philosophy, if you are going to be in the neighborhood of another Sistah, hey, give them a call or send a PM....whether it's 2 or 102 of us, our GTGs are always a great time filled with fun, food, and lots of talking.... no rules, no dues, and hey, if you have a hubby or a partner, bring them along.....they are always welcome to join in the fun, too...
