Sat before Tday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sat before Tday

Postby carolb » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:32 am

Good morning all! & Kathleen!!!! I thot all was settled, so I'm shocked that yore Dr it trying to send yew to the grave! OMG, DO get another opinion! I don't know yore med history, bt I know a second opinion is always recommended. We're all waiting on pins & needles! G'grief, aren't we all victims of entropy?? I think that's that word & spelling--EVERYTHING "new," begins going "downhill" from the very first moment of "newness." So for everyone, TODAY is the best we'll ever be!!! Enjoy it & make the best of it!!! :P Hope ya'll are well! We're heading for a week of great weather here--no rain in sight & mild temps in the 40-50s!!! Now how am I to discipline myself to be inside cleaning howse???

Good Morning Carolb and everyone who follows here,

Carol, you and I must be the early birds on here. We seem to be up and at em at dawn's early light or actually before :D

I agree with you and what all the others have said to Kathleen. Kathleen, you get a second opinion. For a doctor to say that is definitely not professional. LIke the others have said, you know your medical history, how you feel and what you can do and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Sure, we are all going "downhill" but we are in control of how fast down that hill we go.

It's going to be beautiful weather here too. Sunny for the most part and highs in 40's-50's all the way to Thanksgiving Day so far. So should be good traveling weather for those who have to be on the roads. I would love it, if it would hold till I get ready to head north, but I know that long term weather patterns eventually break down after so long and three weeks is a long time to have perfect weather this time of year.

Found out yesterday morning that I will be having company on Wednesday night and part of Thursday next week. My best freinds from the Detroit area are coming through on their way to northern WI. We are going to fix an early Turkey dinner so they can be on their way to spend a couple of days with their daughter and family. Actually I told them that it's such a long drive for them that we could do dinner on Wednesday and they can head out early on Thursday, but if they want to do dinner here on Thursday first, that's would be great too. Either way, fun time.

Not sure what I am going to get into today. It's been so nice that I want to be outside, but there really isn't much to do if anything outside. I do have some spruce to trim, so could go do that. Hmmm, anybody need any spruce trims for Christmas  I need a wreath, could make myself one if I can get a wreath wire. It would last for the holiday season. Not that I have that much to trim. Will have to see what I wind up with.

Well, dawn is beginning to crack herer, so guess I shall get a move on, make bed, get dressed, run and vac and....... Have a great day all. :)

Good morning Everyone !! Haven't decided yet if I will leave today or not. If I do I'll go about 40 miles to friends for overnight and then on west to Thamksgiving destination. Yesterday's down day after the happenings of this week did wonders for me and I feel really well this morning. Having a nice chat with my daughter in the evening added to it.

I'm really upset over my hair , really got a bad cut this time and she did so well last time. I'm unable to get it to look like anything . Not handy fixing hair . I was whaling to my Sis and she said we'll fix it , not sure how HAH!!!with no hair how can it be fixed ?????

We should all be so lucky as to only have bad hair days right ????????? To those who have serious things going on I'm hoping today will be a much better day for you all. Those on the roads stay safe !!!

CArol :)

Good morning Sue, You beat me , now to read yours.

Good Morning Everyone,
First of all, Kathleen, I have not seen your post yet but it sounds like you were not treated in a satisfying manner by this doc so please follow these ladies advice and get a second opinion!
I'm off to a wonderful start today, we are CAMPING! Oceanside at Assateague NP. Got up at 5am to watch the meteor shower, then sunrise. Its chilly, but could not ask for better weather. Think its high 40s for us. I am wonderfully "tuned up". Sounds of the waves crashing, no one stirring but me...no longer true as I am typing but it sure was when I first got up! Took a walk on the beach - just me and the seagulls. Mother Nature is just amazing.
We have had whitetail deer playing in the dunes at our camp, ponies all over the place, and the sika deer are bugling all around at sunset (but haven't seen any yet).
Today we are going to drive up the beach a bit and have some fun with the dogs. Tonight is campfire cooked lobster!! We have a lobsterman friend nearby who hooks us up when we are in the area.
I haven't figured out how to make the photos larger, sorry they are small again

Good morning Carol, Sue, Carol from NC, Kelly & everyone that follows!

It sounds like everyone has a busy day ahead of them. Carol in NY has nice weather, Sue has friends coming, Carol from NC is getting ready to get back on the road, and Kelly is on the ocean beaches.

It's starting off chilly on MD's eastern shore but we'll get into the mid 50's with sunshine today, so I can't complain. Our motorhome is winterized and waiting for the trip to FL which will begin the day after Christmas. We usual take the motorhome to the Christmas parade so we can stay warm and still watch the festivities. I don't enjoy standing outside in the cold for a couple hours when I can sit inside, have dinner and have a better view than lots of others.

The clean up is continuing but in another week or so, we should be done. I plan on making a cake today to take to the people that put us up on their property after our home flooded. If we don't take it to them this afternoon, I'll give it to her when I go to church tomorrow. Speaking of church, I've been attending the church she goes to for the past couple months and I've been asked if I might play something special on the organ for their Christmas Eve service. So I'm sorting through music looking for the right piece. Hubby says to pick something everyone will know, so that's probably what I'll do. Have a good Saturday everyone!

Good morning everyone. I woke up to the wonderfully peaceful sounds of birds singing. Those were the only sounds I heard. We are now at Fairfield Lake State Park and have a great site overlooking the lake. There is a lot of fog over the lake this morning, but when it lifts and I get the rest oTf my setup done, I will get some pictures and update my blog.

I need to work on my menu plan for the coming week and head to the grocery store on Sunday. For those of you that now know us, today is Shabat for Paul. Don't know if I spelled that right, but we won't see him today. That's OK. I am going to make this a kind of day of rest too. I would like to take the dogs for walks and do some exploring.

When we took the dogs out for their last time last night, we kept hearing something moving in the bushes and trees. The dogs were going nuts. Whatever it was, it did not stop moving around even with the dogs barking until we heard it move across the road into the trees over there. This morning, there was a really big and long feather in the dogs's pen. It was kind of between a really dark gray and almost black. Mom says might have been a wild turkey we were hearing last night.

We will be here until Friday, so I think I will fix a small Thanksgiving Dinner for the three of us. Hard to think about. Just the thought of Thanksgiving brings tears to my eyes. The holidays are so hard. Chuck always made a big deal about my Thanksgiving Dinners. He loved them. He loved having all the family around all day. The dinner and then the football game after was a wonderful tradition in our family. Lots of talking, laughter and then yelling going on during the game. Will be so quiet this year.

Going to go get another cup of coffee. Need to get my mind on something else. Don't need to cry all day. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Only a minute and I have to run. Just one question. Kathleen....do your children have access to your doctor? Could they have talked to him before your appointment and gave them THEIR assessment that meets THEIR wants and needs? Yes...I am a naturally suspicious person.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good morning all,
Looks like its going to be a beautiful day in the midwest today. I've already been to the stores to get provisions in for later this week. :)
Dawn, you brought tears to my eyes... I'll be thinking of you this week. This is our first Thanksgiving without our mom. We always gathered at her house - with 50+ crowded in for a feast. There are 8 of us siblings & we're feeling a little lost this year - some of us have good sized families of our own so we're each doing our own thing for dinner but will try to gather in the afternoon Thursday for desserts. I know there will be lots of tears shed this week - but you know, its ok. Its ok to yearn for those we love - after all 'crying takes the sad out of you'.
Sounds like lots of you will be starting new traditions this year - maybe you could share what worked for you giving the rest of us some new ideas for the future... :?
Enjoy the day where ever you are... :D

Good morning ladies, slept in this morning and I really needed it, it was such a stressful week. Laundry is started, first pot of coffee is half gone
and a little buttered toast for my belly. Cleaning my room today and planned to get my WII back out and set up. Been eating way too much lately
and its starting to show. Will try really hard to put myself on a little bit of exercise routine, literally, "try really hard" we'll have to see how
that goes.
Off to search for Kathleens post to see what ya'll are talking about.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning from cloudy, cool SoCal! It is lazy weather, for sure! I slept til 8 AM... now I'm watching Jack Hanna's Safari show. It is for kids, but I have always been a Hanna fan. Gotta get moving and get to the grocery store. I'm kinda bummed today since I found out I'm not needed at the homeless shelter where I was going to volunteer on Thanksgiving. They all have more than enuff volunteers. So I guess I will spend Turkey day on my own. Trader Joe's was advertising a turkey breast with stuffing to pop into the oven. May go see if they still have any left. I also have to get out to the RV and get some water into her. I was draining the hot water tank and forgot I'd left the bathroom faucet cracked open. After I checked air in the tires, I went inside and heard drip, drip, drip and realized all the water in the tank was gone and the grey tank was now full...silly me. Luckily the storage lot has a dump station and fresh water. So I'd better get one more cuppa and bet moving. Y'all have a great day... :D

Trying to gather the will to go do my Thanksgiving shopping today. I have to bring the dog to the vet Monday so can't go shopping with him and I'm sure Tuesday and Wednesday will be crazy. There will only be 3 of us for dinner so will probably cook a stuffed chicken from Hebert's. I am thinking about trying a turkey breast too. I have never cooked one but like to have turkey for Thanksgiving and my DH doesn't.

Posie cat was sitting with me this morning. She only does that in the winter so guess she thinks the house is too cold. It looks like a very nice day but is probably cool. Ants have moved into my Ficus tree and I'm having trouble making them move. I tried putting ant bait and fire ants don't go after the bait like the other kinds of ants. They gave me a couple of nasty bites for messing with them.

I looked out this morning and my DH had used the front end loader to take the tire off the old truck. If he had ask I could have told him where the jack is.

Good morning all!! Yes, I'm definitely feeling holiday depression. I keep going over the list of things I'm thankful for. All the wonderful things that I DO have. Don't know why I keep focusing on to what I DON'T have....my family for the holidays. Watching xmas movies on TV and crying often. However, did get a text from DHs DIL. They were having TDay with her family, but her dad now has to work on TDay. So she invited us to their house for an early afternoon visit and who knows what for food. DH and his family don't like turkey. DH was single dad since his 2 sons were teens. They don't do holiday get Togethers. It is so weird. My USC vs UCLA football game is on soon. I always enjoy that game. Brings back so many fun and happy memories. Wishing everyone a safe and great day. Stay safe if you are traveling. Aloha!!

After reading a lot of posts, I realize I'm not alone at all...I've got all of you! You bouyed my spirits some...so, I bought a turkey breast and the ingredients for our family stuffing and a bag of cranberries. I will make homemade cranberry relish, stuff that turkey with wonderful stuffing, and have a great meal on Thursday even if the only "people" I share with are furry and four footed. Thank you...I'm more blessed than I knew! :D
