Monday oh what a beautiful Morning!!!!!!

Yep sure is for me...yesterday I got a great big surprise...I was taken to the Texas Get together. Yippee !!

That's right Ms Dawn just picked me up ( in the I pad) and carried me some where ( usually I sit on top her toaster ouch)
And off I was talking to the Sistahs one by one as they came up and said "Hey". Now the was so neat. Something ya all might consider...any how I felt like I was there...and when it got silent I knew they were chewing down. And lots of food. Omg!

Weather looked pretty good too hahaha. So now I'm beaming even though it is Monday.

That's about it other than I have lots to do this morning as its trash day. Ad that means lugging or as my hubby says "toting". You all have a fantastic day and God's Blessings Shine down on all

Soos safe travels and I love them flying Js....
Judy B hope to meet up with you too in Florida.

Come on down ya'll

God bless

Monday--election eve

Postby carolb » Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:44 am

Good morning! First thing this a.m., I fo-nd Echo on Campfires! Yep, she says she's feeling down, :( & she & Kelly have been sick...Come back, Echo! These MC ladies will cheer yew -p! Yep, having my coffee & reading yesterday's posts, laffing my b-tt off at times! I think people say LMAO, "b-tt" I'm too lady-like to -se the "A" word!...Awake at 4:00, & the temp is dropping. One more degree to hit freezing. Hope yew kept warm overnight, Soos & friend! Oh how I want to be on the road! I have a half day job, starting at 11:30, so I'm enjoying my qwiet morning. Well, I'm also online looking for a morning job & will take one--more $ in my pocket is good! Hey Dawn, I like yore style! My bro makes his own cigs & soda, too! I also smoke--my only evil vice (or not!). Tried to qwit several times since cigs are sooo expensive in NY; even tho I'm a part-time smoker, it was costing an arm & leg. Bt then it was costing me more to repair or replace things I'd break in fits of withdrawal! Sooo, my bro got me a cig machine--making smokes for less than $2/pack. I'm not a soda drinker tho--bad for health :D Oh, I s-re hope y'all can handle my dry sense of h-mor! OK, y'all have a great day, safe travels, love yore loved ones! Need to get on with my a.m. rootine in case I do get an a.m. job! Also need to see who s-rvived the TX GTG! Enjoy!

Good morning Zee! So glad you got to go to the TX gtg. What a great idea....guess I could have done that too, but I didn't think of it.

Not much happening here. Going to my dd's today to help out for a few days. Will be back in McIntosh on Wednesday. Just taking the car this time....save gas $$$.

Hope everyone has a fine day. Stay safe, Soos and others on the road.

Morning Barbzee, Liz and all,

Hmm, see we have two Monday morning posts going here, but since Liz added on to this one, decided to just keep it going. Guess Beth will have to combine them later maybe. But then "pick and choose" is kind of fun too

Looks like Barb and Liz have some "chores" today. I will be joing that too as it's shopping day for me, run to vet and also head to gym. So another busy day for everybody so far. Then tomorrow of course is the big day and off to the polls for those of us who didn't file absentee or are in a state with early voting. What's with the early voting anyway? Is that the way some states reduce the amount of people voting on the actual day so as to reduce the crowds or their way of "absentee" voting? Just wondered cause there seem to be a number of states doing early voting this year.

Hope Soos and her friend are having a great trip south and enjoying some good driving weather. I see there's another storm about to hit along the east coast again. Be hard on those who are trying to clean up from Sandy. Wonder if Irmi and Steve are back at their place, starting to clean up around there. Hhope they don't have to spend a whole lot of time at it and replace a lot of things again, so they can get through the holidays and head off to sunny south again.

Well, time to get moving here. Got some business to tend to on this 'puter", so best get with it and get my day going. You all have a nice day out there :)

Good morning Barbzee, Liz, Sue & everyone!

We went to the house yesterday after church to start the clean up. Steve went to the house while I was in church to get the woodstove lit to help take the chill off and then he came back to pick me up. He spent the entire day outside picking up wood that floated off our front porch. He picked up three truck loads and restacked it on the front porch. I'm guessing he's 90% done. While he was doing that, a friend stopped by with her wet/dry vac and she used it on the living room & dining room rugs while I wet mopped the floors. I've done all the floors twice but I'll probably have to do them again. I also need to wipe the muck off the walls where the water was. To show you how high the water was in the house, the cushions on our furniture are wet. Needless to say, by the time we got back to our camper, we were both tired and physically beat. We'll be going back to the house after I get a workout in this morning. I'll be able to walk there as we are staying on the property where we workout. This afternoon, someone from the county is meeting with us to see if there is anything the county can do to prevent any future floodings. And as Sue said, we have a n'oreaster staring us in the face, but it's not supposed to be as bad as Sandy. I'm going to call our insurance company, because although we don't have flood insurance, we have damage to both our kitchen ceiling and the ceiling in the glassed in back porch is also damaged. Hopefully we can get some help with that, as that is not flood damage, but wind & rain damage. Take care everyone.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

We're in New Milford PA Flying J and, obviously, getting a late start! The day is cold (got into the 20s last night) and overcast.

On we go to Carlisle PA Flying J....hopefully to warmer weather.

Will try to check in tonight.

Happy travels!

Good Morning to All - Bright and sunny here in Arizona - our last day in the US - we think - plan on crossing the border tomorrow morning.
Had a real nice birthday yesterday - unexpected visitor and an altogether good day. Wrote all about it in my blog.
Have carrot cake to share thanks to our visitor - it is delicious!
Today we'll just do things to get ready to roll. Laundry, cleaning and putting away type stuff. This year we have locking hitch pins and will set the alarm on Willie so not expecting any problems there.
Every one traveling drive safe.

Good morning, almost made it anyway.

Have been trying to get caught up on happenings here.
So glad to see Irmi check in and know she and Steve made it back safely - even if to a mess and major cleaning chores.
Also happy to see Soos on her way south. Must admit I'm a bit jealous.

Was a busy, productive week getting ready for the 1st of Christmas Open House at antique malls. One down, two to go.

We had some unusual events here that were mostly overshadowed by news coverage of Sandy. Have you ever seen a sundog? Witnessed my first one this week and one of the local NASA folks got a spectacular photo of it over Huntsville. Scroll down just a little on this link to see and learn more.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2227313/Incredible-ice-halo-formed-Alabama-wake-Superstorm-Sandy.html

As if the sundog was not enough, we had windows rattling late Tuesday bad enough for some to wonder if there was an earthquake. Both the Army and NASA were quick to announce they were not testing anything to cause that much noise. Turned out to be two very large, boulder size meteorites crashing thru space over head. The noise was from them breaking up and breaking the sound barrier in the process. There is currently a dedicated search underway between Huntsville and Cullman for fragments to be studied.

Sarah, I am SO jealous about your "events" (not so much the Christmas thing...)
You didn't happen to see the sundog, did you?

Yes, Mitch I did get to see the sundogs - actually was hard to miss if you were outside. Breath taking. Here is a link to more photos if you are interested:
http://topics.al.com/tag/Sun%20Dog/photos.html

Wish this would have happened while Tina was here. However, Remi would not have liked the booms from meteorites breaking sound barrier. He was nervous enough with the explosive and missile tests that were being conducted at Redstone Arsenal that week.

A little more info:

"The boulder-sized meteors fragmented as they entered the lower atmosphere, Cooke (Marshall Space Flight Center's meteor expert) said, resulting in a shower of pieces tracked by Doppler weather radar. Those fragments are what the team is trying to recover. Meteorites are black, heavy and respond to magnets, Cooke said.

Sightings of the fireball were reported across the area, and the sonic boom was strong enough to be recorded on several seismographs, including the one operated by amateur Huntsville seismologist Steve Jones. These meteors are not part of the Taurid shower that lights up the skies every year between October and mid-November. But that shower, called "Halloween Fireballs," is under way."

The meteors that generated the shower probably originated in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, Cooke said. Extremely old, it gradually came closer to Earth until our planet's gravity captured it on Wednesday. "It's a pretty big event," Cooke said
Because they come from ancient collisions deep in space, NASA researches meteorities like this one to learn about the origins of the solar system.

Hard to believe it is Monday already. Have had such a wonderful time at this GTG that it has been sad to watch some of the ladies pull out yesterday and today. Mom, Paul and I are pulling out on Wednesday heading for Boot Camp. Am looking forward to seeing Red there again on Friday and getting to meet Ellen. Today has to be a quiet day for me. Had MS episode last night where I lost all feeling in both hands for a while. Then legs and arms became very painful. It got a lot better early this morning and was finally able to sleep for a little while. Pain starting back up again. I am going to take a pain pill and lay down for a while. I want to be able to visit with the ladies still here later on this evening. I was glad to be able to bring Zeee to the GTG too yesterday. LOL, usually prop her up on the toaster. iPad fits really well there while I am cooking or washing dishes. Of course from there I take her on walks outside, all around the rig, etc. Get her pretty seasick.

Irmi, sounds like you are getting a handle on the damage. Good for you! I know it is going to be hard work and hopefully you will get some help for the wind and rain damage.

Soos, glad you are heading south to warmer weather. Looking forward to seeing you at the FL GTG.

Got to take the dogs out, then we are all going to go take a nap. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

How so very neat, Sarah. So glad you got to see it, and that you shared those links to pictures of it with us. Thanks.
