Thursday back home

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday back home

Postby carolb » Thu Oct 25, 2012 6:53 am

Good morning all! :P After being absent for so long, it took me a while to read all that's been going on. Lotsa travels for so many, so I hope all are safe on the road. I had a great 12 day trip, really enjoyed my HarBor while visiting friend/family. Love having my personal space/time in the early mornings & evenings. Finding more ways to organize things too. The HB is only 17ft--really a perfect size for me & the two babes, yet it's taking some time to really organize the storage space. I'm in awe of those of ya who can handle the big rigs & I definitely envy yore storage space  ! Ha, on the drive home, my frig went on the blink--the freezer compartment works, bt not the frig part! :? Strange. I didn't have a lot of food, so I stored it in the freezer & lowered the temp. Worked fine. Something to fix this winter??? I've been taking the "emergencee" this fall to ward off colds. I've taken the zicam over the past few years & find that works great too. Hope y'all are keeping those colds at bay! Y'all be safe & healthy, & I think I'll be back to "normal," joining ya for coffee each morning! To Soos & Tina, sorry I missed chances to meet ya this fall. Oh, how I'm really looking forward to a time we do meet--as well as meeting so many of the rest! FL GTG is still in my plans! :P

GOOD MORNING AND WELCOME HOME, CAROL!

Nice to hear you had a fun trip, Carol, but really sorry to hear about your refrigerator. Seems funny that the freezer xompartment still works----sure hope it might be an easy fix for the lower part. Am looking forward to meeting you in FL too!

Not too cold here this morning at 53 degrees, but grey and overcast. Most all of the leaves are now on the ground, and I can see deep into the woods around Mandy's house. I am looking forward to spending my last alone day with Orion today, and I am really going to miss him when I have to leave. We had a great day yesterday, and when his mom came home, I am happy to say he didn't even make a fuss to get off my lap to go to her! He has made leaps and bounds just in the two weeks I have been here, and will walk on his own any day now. I wish I could see that big event happen.

Gotta go take a load of my laundry to the house and get the dogs situated for the day. Keep your eyes peeled on Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy, as they now have storm warnings out for Central FL. I may have to delay my trip a few days---we shall see.

Have a good day all of you!

Happy travels!

Good Morning to All - Just coffee here this morning. Debating getting on the road hoping to get a ways before the wind and rain - Maybe as far as Springfield, MO - or maybe just stay here today - after all we aren't in a hurry -
Hope all of you in Florida are away from the edges of that storm.
Well guess we are going to go - The Driver has his shoes on - more later.

Good morning all. Getting ready to go to Dr for a biopsy. Yuck! I'm seeing really dark clouds off to the north. Hope they stay there. Not suppose to rain till tomorrow. We went shopping at the furniture store that has the biggest selection of recliners. We measured them all and only 2 styles would fit. DH selected one, although it is still small for him and difficult to get out of. So he bought 2. I would have continued shopping at other stores to find a bigger one that fit him better. But he is not a patient type and just bought the one that works better than what we have. They were delivered and assembled in the rig. They fit perfect in the little alcove destined for recliners. Really comfy as they also swivel and rock!!
Now we have 2 leather recliners for sale that have never been used.

Everyone stay safe, especially all of you in Florida near the path of that storm. Have a great day!

Here are the new ones.

Posting from under the covers again while it warms up in here. Brrrrr

What do you do in a strong storm in a motor home? Code the slides?? Drive somewhere else?? What if you can't drive out of it? I have only been in one wind storm in this thing.

Off to White Sands NM today and on towards Texas GTG.

They look real nice Red. Judy, if you feel or sense the slides moving, pull them in. If it is just normal wind, get used to getting rocked to sleep. :D Make sure you know where the nearest solid structure is located in case of a tornado though.

Good morning all

Good looking chairs, Red. Quick work getting them installed.

Tina and I have shinny almost new looking rigs after the wash/wax job yesterday. Magic was also warmer last night. One of the wash crew noticed a window open in the cab over area. No idea how that happened or how long it has been open.

Magic decided to give me a scare last night. The converter tripped the circuit again (happened once before when I was trying to get her home from dealer). Both Tina and I tried several times but could not get it to reset. Finally dawned on Tina to flip it all the way off and back on. That worked and so far no additional problem. However cannot figure out what is causing it to trip. Any ideas or suggestions???

Nights are a little chilly but we could not have asked for better weather for Tina's visit and spending time at campground. We have a couple of nice days left then it will turn cold as Tina leaves.

Wishing all a safe and beautiful day.

OMG!! It's snowing!!!

Haven't seen snow (up close) for 2 1/2 years! It is the heavy wet flakes coming down so it is pretty. It is cold, windy and blustery tho. Not too anxious to go out looking for a car today in this weather but it has to be done.

Red, I love those new chairs! They look so much more comfy than the old ones!

Take care gals and have a good safe day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Wish you had showed me what was tripping when I saw you in Tunica...hard to believe it's the converter. But guess it could be. You don't have the converter on when you're plugged into electricity do you?

Good Morning,

Today is the BIG day - we are getting LeRoy's 5er out of storage! I will have my space back!

The downsizing from 5er to camper continues.

Carolb, we just read about the Crystal Grove and Diamond Mine campground near St. Johnsville. When I looked it up on the map, I see it isn't far from you. Looks like a neat place - is it?

JudyJB, I loved White Sands! Hiked it in bare feet.

Soos, I know how hard leaving Orion will be. My older grandson was about 4 when he told me, 'I know you and Grandpaw want to see America, but I miss you!'

Too those of you with gremlins in your rigs, a fact of life, huh? Not a pleasant one tho.

Red, I like the chairs - hope your hubby will be happy.

Gotta go get that 5er.....have a great day and safe travels.

Sharon, I don't turn my converter on and off - is automatic when I plug in. BUT, when I added solar, the man who installed it has me flip the circuit for it before I turn on the inverter. I don't know if it would do it automatically or not also, but is so easy to do, I just do it. I believe it would be automatic, since he installed it on my generator lines, and it was for that - but, hey, what's it take to flip a switch :)

I wasn't a big fan of White Sands - funny cuz I LOVE the beach, and have liked other areas (like the similar area in CO), but I loved my boondocking spot just down the road from there. I had sand and WATER ... and solitude. Will go back and just might go try to find out why White Sands themselves didn't do it for me last time (maybe cuz I was with Jean and she didn't like it there? Funny how things can rub off on you.)

OK, I had a brain fart, must have been all that wind blowing in my ear yesterday. Something I never do, got the inverter and converter backwards. I don't even have a switch for my converter, just for the inverter and that was what I was thinking about when I answered Sarah's post. Going back into my corner now.

OMG, Sharon had a brain fart - and you're my go-to person on this kind of stuff. So glad to know you can have a brain fart with the rest of us.
