Good Morning from the 45th,
Can't believe I"m the first one in the kitchen this morning. Barbzee must be sleeping in and so is Carolb. Course Barbzee has Ms. Reba to take care of too.
Well, i have bacon, eggs and sausage in the fridge as well as fresh ground chuck and cottage cheese for those of us on the protein thing, so help yourself and there's bread for toast too.
We returned from the U.P. on Sunday afternoon, although I left my heart up in that beautiful country. Even the "girls" didn't want to leave. They watched me load up and were very reluctant to get in the wagon as they knew what was going on. Tessa just stayed by the unit door, so I had to go get her and walk her over to the ramp to get in. Usually they just hit the thing and in they go, but not this time. Didn't want to come back to their boring backyard and my getting busy around here. Can't blame them. I would rather have stayed up there too. But we had a great week, some spectacular color, put olmost 1,000 miles on the wagon and even went from fall to winter on Saturday. Coming home felt like a step back in time as areas here are still nearing their peak colors yet. Was a nice drive till I got to the Mackinaw Bridge and then ran into lake effect rain showers all the way home. Plus a lot of traffic, so it was not much fun driving. And it turned to rain/snow when we got near home due to the high elevation and even plain wet snow at home. Didn't do anything though. Will post pictures as soon as I get time to fight with Photobucket this week.
Spent some time last night catching up with this weeks "Morning Coffee" and "Campfire". Sure been a lot going on. Read up on all the going ons, sick dogs, travels and adventures etc. Boy, miss a week and you miss a lifetime almost. Glad to hear that the sick critters are getting better. Dawn, sounds like things are improving with your mom and you are getting your repairs lined up, Carolinangel, sorry it didn't work out with your friend. I too think she owes you an explanation at least, but it's over and done with, so time to move on. Ali, good to see you posting again. Sounds like you are enjoying it in Branson and can stay for awhile yet. Barbie, I think about you every time I hear about those gas prices in CA and am so grateful that you decided to go back home. You would have been miserable out there, between the crazy roomates, shifting between shops and then gas would have been too expensive for you to go anyplace. You are so much better off where you are now. Sounds like a match made in heaven. And Red is off to new adventures with a new rig. Happy Dance there. Lori and Ernie are basking in NM it seems. Oh gosh, can't keep up with everybody on here.
I"m happy to report that Ms. Tessa is greatly improved over our last visit. We took her off the antibiotics all last week to give her a chance for her tummy to heal up and get her appetite back. She was on some other meds for that with no problem. Latest tests are showing everything is almost back to normal, so now she is back on Tetracycline, but on half the dose she was on before. If she stops eating again, I am to totally stop it. Hopefully we will be able to stop all meds down the line here after her vet determines things are okay, with the exception of estrogen which she will probablybe on the rest of her life. So now I am searching for a new dry dog food for both of them, as they are kind of turned off the Kibbles and Bits which they were chomping down these past few months. Too much same old.
Looks like rain shower moving in here later today. I"ve got some outside work to do, but it will have to wait. Did do the final grass cutting yesterday, so now it's waiting for the leaves to all fall off and then out with the blower and clean them all up. Need to redo my fence gate, so that might be on today's agenda.
Guess I had better get rolling around here. You all have a wonderful day out there.
