Oh ladies  I just posted a "tip" on GenTalk in response to Catherine's boot camp experience  A subject so personal, I'd been avoiding it! If you get around to reading it, please don't hold it against me! :( Now, for breakfast, SPINACH! I've been so overwhelmed with tomatoes, I'd forgotten about my spinach. Spent 2-3 hours last night picking, washing (that takes forever!), and cooking it. Hey, how about spinach/mater omelets? Sounds good to me!....Yesterday I made him official--registered my HarBor (my rv's name). I'd been waiting to get full use of the 30day temp FL license. Saved me a month of paying for NY tax, title and license--if you don't know, NY is so outrageous in all their taxes and fees. Save money anywhere I can. Think I'm a lot like you, Soos! 38degrees this morning, so Soos, you must be freezing! Oops, don't even think I read the MC posts from yesterday, so forgive me for starting a new conversation in ignorance  Not subbing today, so more maters to dice and freeze! And with that, a good morning to all, hope all--2 legged and 4 legged--friends out there are happy and healthy, and be safe wherever you are! :D (going back to read yesterday's posts now  )

I'm back! Read yesterday's posts; breakfast was cold cereal with blueberries! Yes, Soos :P , send me a PM and we'll connect! Maters! Nothing better than a homegrown one, huh? Barbzeee, I've got Italian in me too, but mom never did much canning. You remember it well though, and that's the process my bro and I used to can them. For freezing, just wash, dice (even just quarter if you want), throw them in a freezer bag and pop in the freezer. If they're really juicy, I squeeze some of the juice out of the bag before I zip it up. I use quart size bags--don't want smaller, and bigger ones are just too awkward to work with. My bro has a "mill"--that's what he calls the gadget that separates the peels and seeds...I'm getting to "know" some of you a bit, I think. Dawn, you're a full-timer? I've yet to camp at a campground--have stayed at rest areas on my three overnights. But thanks to you I now know things to look for when staying at a CG...Okay, ladies, I'm sure you've heard enough from me this morning  Signing off again! ;)

GOOD MORNING CAROL AND ALL!

The frost is as thick as an early snow out there this morning. Poor Dinah, who has probably never experienced such coldness in her former southern life, tippy-toed through the grass to pee and then rushed back in next to the heater! Molly, on the other hand, seemed motivated to run and frolic in it! The sun is coming up now in the cloudless sky, so it will melt off and get warmer before too long. I guess I need to find my long-stowed windshield scraper for my truck! I do not miss those days of remotely starting the truck with the heater on to melt off the snow and ice so I could see to drive to school!

I drained my water system in the trailer yesterday and will keep it drained now until I get back to FL sometime next month. I am still overwhelmed with all I have to do back here before I leave, including some more doc appointments and dentist appointment, and, of course, this danged house destuffing.

I hope you all are having good weather, wherever you may be and whatever you are doing. I have some hot hazlenut coffee with French vanilla creamer here this morning, but no breakfast stuff yet. I usually eat a huge brunch at about noonish, and then eat a late supper. I am still eating my chicken soup that I made the other day----I love chicken-rice soup, especially in this cool weather. I can eat the same thing for days on end if I like it, and none gets wasted. I may try some beef stew for the next week to come.

Carol I wish I had some fresh veggies to prepare and eat here, but the growing season is so short I gave up my garden years ago after picking a bunch of frozen-to-the-core large ready-to-ripen green tomatoes in July! I will now go post you a private message so you know how to find me! Maybe we can go cross-country skiing before I head south!

Happy Thursday to all!

Good Morning Carol...Yep you got bursts of energy going there gal ! it's a bit nippy here but not as you and Soos but still I had my flannel sheets on the bed...Have to have blood work done this morning so my brain is a little bogged or is it clogged...but without my coffee..OH MY !!!!.... I trip over my words and fingers as I attempt to type..

Ms Reba is not eating this morning so when I get back from the Lab I'll stop by and try and pick up some other things she might eat..like a little Liver (oy, not my thing unless chopped liver ????) hahaha.. that's strange to say for me.. I mean I really don't like Liver as I had to eat so much as a kid...that and Geritol...Yes, Louise I laughed at your title on your blog...cause that was our dosage of stuff Momma would make us stand in line and dish out...GAWD..horrible memories hahaha..

However my bestess girlfriend growing up in New York was Toby, and she and I would share our "secrets" and lunches LOL and it was the first time I ever tasted chopped liver...OMG..it was so good..she had that on a bagel with an onion..can you believe this girl bringing this to school ?????? Oy was her expression and soon became mine with an Italian twist... :D

Okie dokie I need to get a move on and hope and pray you all have a great day and those traveling Stay Safe.........
...Catch ya later down the road..

Psst Hey Soos..you and I popped in at the same time..keep bundled up sure is getting chilly..!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Boy oh boy I sure did not want to get up this morning. I don't know if it's the cooler temps we have been having or that Bi-Pap machine I now have to use?? But dang I have been sleeping like a log. There has only been maybe a couple of times I've woken up in the middle of the night but that was only cause I had to P, not because I couldn't sleep. I go lay down in bed and it usually only takes me a few minutes to drop off and that's it until morning, I'm out like a light!!! Another added bonus? I don't know if I still snore or not? But with that face mask on I don't think anyone would hear me anyway. ?? Aren't those Bi-Paps suppose to end snoring anyway?  My XH sure could have used one!!!

Temps are really good out here this morning, was very pleasant feeling when I took Shade out. I so love the cooler temps. Any temp between 65 and I guess to 80 is good for me. The cooler temps are fantastic for sleeping. I am so very excited and looking forward to seeing the leaves change on the trees. I have not seen that or enjoyed that since I first went to AZ. Well that's not quite true. We did have the Aspens out there but there is nothing like a Maple in full color! I love the ones that look like they are covered with glowing, florescent flame colors. I might no longer live in upstate NY or in Maine but here in TN we still get some good color. And with even tho we had some really hot weather for awhile? We also had quite a bit of rain too, so the colors this year ought to be pretty good.

OK, time to stop flapping my fingers and go read to catch up. Hope every one has a great day. Have lots of fun today. If it's needing to get done? Hope you have a productive day. If your traveling down the road be sure to keep your eyes open, ya'll just never know what ya see. Stay safe "everyone".

I got quite a laugh out of the postings too. Barb Zeee called me and asked if I had read it. Have not been online a lot the last couple of days and had a lot of catching up to do. Told her no, so just had to go read it. We were both chuckling and laughing. Yes, Carolb, I am a fulltimer now. Still new to me and getting used to the lifestyle. It is still strange to me to not set an alarm or even know for sure what day it is. I still have things in my storage that I don't know where they are so am working on going through all the big bins I packed and putting them into smaller, more manageable bins. I am hoping I will find the dog's retractable leashes pretty soon. I bet they are too!  So much easier on them when they can go further than just their regular leash.

Having a very quiet day today. Mom is not feeling well so she is asleep on the couch. She will probably sleep most of the day. She was hurting all over this morning, so I had her take a pain pill. They normally knock her out for hours. I won't be working on anything today, because I don't want to get the dogs stirred up by me digging around in the bins and making noise. It's not like we're on a time limit for anything anymore.

Soos, it sounds like it is getting really cold up there. I am thinking about putting a blanket on the bed because it is down in the 50's and 60's at night here now. I know if I was up where you are, I would have already put 2 or 3 more blankets on the bed.

I haven't done any canning in quite a few years. Back when the kids were little, Chuck and I would buy fresh vegetables at the farmer's market by the bushel and I would can and freeze. As they grew up, I got out of the habit of doing that.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.
