Rather chilly Tuesday

Good Morning everybody,
Haven't been on here for a few days and havne't been on the forum much to do any catching up on the "local news" out there, so hope all's going well for you all other than minor little problems and things that crop up as part of our daily lives. Will be playing catch up before long. Did start reading some of the new Introductions and lots of new people with great dreams out there. Welcome to you all. I will enjoy following along on your hopes, dreams and travels.
It's a chilly damp day here today. Supposed to have lake effect rain showers and only aruond 54 for a high. But with a 25 mph wind expected, it will feel much colder. Time to haul out the fall jackets. Glad this is my day off although I do have an outside project I wanted to work on and may do if it doesn't rain too much around here. You never know with those lake effect showers.
Am happy to report some good news on Tessa and that is , her latest tests show that the higher levels (BUN and one other) have dropped a bit more, so the new antibiotics are working it seems. Between that and theestrogen, she is doing very well from what i can see. So it's beginning to look like we are winning the battle in heading off kidney disease in her and dealing with a bad infection rather. She's to stay on the antibiotics for another month, three times a day. Oh Joy Looks like my life is going to be wrapped around doggie pill time.
Did get a little bit of worrisome news on Sassy's tests too. They show that her liver enzymes are a bit high. My vet is not sure if it is an indication of possible infection or a test fluke. We are going to monitor her for another month and then retest again. She's on Proin and he wants me to continue it. I've been dong some research on high liver enzymes in dogs and see that she needs less protein and sodium in her diet, so some changes are in the works here. I use processed cheese to give her pills with cause it works great, but it's also loaded with sodium. So am seeking alternatives. Peanut butter is too sticky, pill pockets are too expensive etc. Also going to change up on dry dog food as neither are really eating this stuff anymore. Also considering maybe fixing up some chicken breast as a meat alternative. They are cheap right now. My little brain will be busy here. And I"m still working besides, so not a lot of time to monkey with this stuff.
Enough rattling about dogs here. Time to be off and going. Change bed day, run a vac and then head up to town to bank, store etc., Wishing you all a great day. Those under the weather, hope you feel better soon, those on the road, travel safe, those making plans to head south or hit the road for the first time, happy planning and many happy travels.
