Monday, Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, Monday

Postby Redwahine » Mon Sep 10, 2012 8:07 am

I just love that song by the Mamas & Papas....

Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be

Woke up. It was 58 out. Took Tyler for a short walk just to enjoy the beauty and the cool temps. Have scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. Come and get it.

Below is a picture of my "down" project. Something I can do while taking it easy. It has taken more than 10 hours (2 at a time) to polish just one candle stick. Boy my arm is sore. This doesn't show the candelabra part that fits on top to use 5 candles.

Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe. Aloha.

Red, Looks really very nice...but I have to agree.. I won't do that any more !!! We always at holidays and family gatherings did up the Silver when Momma was alive...Now it sits in a trunk in plastic bubble wrap cause I'm waiting to pass it on...LOL... If it's therapy for you...GREAT...but I'd have more than a sore arm...(my butt as well).. HA !

Lori, I've been up since 4ish ..made a batch of Waffles and also did up the Critter food (Rice Fields with veggies) and am now ready to call it quits...but I might be able to snatch a (let me think) Orange sweet roll :)

Tina sorry to read about Ms Hannah... never gets easy.. I'm getting myself prepared for Ms Reba..as she's on that .."I won't and I'm not going to eat..." I've gone through so many choices.. today she might eat something but tomorrow she won't eat that again...then on to strange choices...but what ever it is ..well I know the nutri cal goes in cause I make sure of that... so this week she'll go to the Vets and we'll go from there... Hate these times...they just plain ole SUCK..

Hope all are doing well and enjoying this coming into fall weather and the beautiful colors that are taking place...I've always called them "God's Paint Brushes at work "..

God Bless

Good Morning All

Red - Candlestick looking good. What are you using to polish them? I highly recommend Hagerty Silversmith Polish. It is available in liquid (my favorite), spray and cream. In my antiques business, I specialize in antique silver - love the Victorian era items. Q-Tips are great for getting in tight little areas of tarnish. Here is a pix of one of my showcases.

I have to say how proud I am of Nicky on his first camping trip. No barking and he tolerated being around the other furbabies. Of course that was in a quite campground as we pretty much had the place to ourselves until Friday night. Now I'm thinking the biggest challenge will be getting him used to leash and my ability to walk him any distance.

Before leaving Honeycomb, I padded everything I could to help cut down on the rattles while driving. Wendy also gave me an OTC pill called RELAX for dogs. Gave him 1 about half hour before starting home. With the rig quitter and the pill he was still frightened but not terrified as he was on the way over. Couple more trips and that should continue to improve. Have to brag on myself too. No shaking hands or sweaty palms before driving - a first.

Wishing all a super day.

Red, that looks beautiful. 10 hours! Wow! That is dedication or boredom, one or the other

Lori, the sweetrolls sounds good to go with my coffee.

Barb, I am hoping for good news on Ms. Reba for you.

So proud of Nicky too. Ours have turned out to be good campers. They don't bark excessively when outside, which is what I was really worried about. Belle is the most vocal, but I think it is because she is blind and sounds are more intense to her.

I got up really late this morning for me. I woke up at 5:00, went back to sleep, woke up at 6:00, went back to sleep and finally jumped up at 7:37! I was really tired last night. I did not make it through the 10:00 news last night. Mom woke me up to send me to bed. She said I was sitting straight up on the couch and snoring! My family can all tell you I will shake the rafters when I go deep asleep. Mom says I have snored since I was a baby. The kids used to laugh that their Daddy snored, but I was way worse! Not very lady like   I refuse to sleep on a plane for just this reason.

Am now sitting here drinking my coffee and going to catch up on the all the postings I did not get to read yesterday. Then I have to get to work on making our reservations for after the FL GTG. We will be heading up to Barb Zeee's area. Mom's sister lives in the Villages during the winter close to Barb so I want to be close to both, if possible. I have already checked with the CG where Barb used to stay and since I only want to stay a month, she did not have any sites for us. She only does 2-3 month reservations at this time. If anyone has any suggestions, I would sure appreciate it.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling today, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Nothing much going on at the moment here. I do have a doctors appt at 2:15 this afternoon. They are gonna stick my finger, for what? I don't know, check my BP and a couple of other things. I am gonna ask about a handicap tag for in the truck. I really hate to do that. In the back of my mind is the thought that there are people a whole lot worse and need the parking spot more than I do. But for sure there is no way I could park way out in the lot and walk up to the doors. At least not the way that I feel.

The home health nurse called this morning before I got up. He wanted to come over a little after 10 and check on me and stick my finger. ??? I asked him why as I was going to the doctors, his reply was that he didn't know if the doctor did the finger stick to check blood something. I assured him that the doctor did. Then I had a Dr. Raintree's office call to set up an appt for next week. ??? I have no idea who the heck that doctor is. I guess whatever doctor it is saw me once while I was in the hospital. It had to have been while I was out of it cause that name is no where in my memory. Ya know I really wonder about some doctors and hospitals sometimes. My X hubby was in a truck accident and while in the hospital under the care of total diff doctors because his primary care doc hadn't been called, he was paid 2 visits by his primary care doc. Well when everything was said and done we got a bill for that doctors visits, 4 of them ?. We disputed it. Boy did it hit the fan and the doctor dropped him as a patient. Shortly after son was born we received a bill from a doctor for circumcision. When we disputed the bill it hit the fan and turned into quite the tussle. I finally offered to take son to hospital and have examined. Told them if they could find where he had been circumcised then I would OK the ins to pay the bill. They dropped the matter. In other words people, Please always check your bill out item per item.

OK, enough finger jabbering. Hope ya'll have a great day, if your on the road use a little extra caution.

Love to all

Sitting here wishing I was still camping with Sharon and Karen. We were having so much fun. My DH was not too happy that I was gone from Thursday to Monday last week and left again Thursday, Friday and Saturday. My friend had talked me into taking 2 kittens someone had dumped where she works. They can't be over a month old so I was camping with cats again. I thought about calling her when they would wake me up at 4:30 to eat.

The cool front that came through yesterday is nice. It's in the 80's during the day but was cool last night.

Wow Red 10 hours on one piece, I'd have tossed it out the door long before then even if it is really pretty, or I'd be sending it for whoever is receiving it to clean ;)

Sarah your silver is beautiful, do you also have jewelry? I'm glad Nicky did better on the trip home, I bet once he realized he's going some place fun he will be ready to go when he sees you packing up.

Barbzee, what is Rice Fields? I'm having problems with Charley, he has been having difficulties getting up and down for awhile but is getting worse. Now, he lays down while he eats and like Reba some meals he eats others I can only get a little down him. I'm feeding him mostly with a spoon three times a day and he is a slow eater :( This week he loves Ziwi Peak canned Venison from New Zeland I have two more flavors to try if he gets tired of that. At this point I'm feeding pretty much what ever he will eat and so far no stomach issues. He's the one that has bloated three times!

Echo, I imagine they want to stick your finger to check your blood sugar levels. Did they say you have diabetes?

We are having another cool lovely morning so guess I should do something besides sit here at the computer like vacuum ACK!

BJ... I know how you feel about feeding Charile.. like I said, "I'm going through that with Ms Reba".

The Rice fields I refer to is me making a pot of Rice for Zeke as he can't have brown rice because of his gastro problem so I use Basmati or Jasmine and cook that up and add veggies to it.. that I add to his Dry Food.. I have to feed him in several times a day... since he had HGE...but he's doing better...and next week he also goes to his Cardio Doc...good lord..

I just did a white count on Ms Reba and waiting to get a urine sample...so far all checks out ok.. and I bring her Sunday up to my Vets for more tests...but with her I do believe it's an age thing where she's starting to shut down.. Hate this..as we all have these issues on going ..wish sometimes they could talk !

I hope it works out for you with Charlie too.. goodness.. I have Ms Abby on Deramaxx for her hips as well...I do believe I should have invested in a pharmaceutical company...I'd be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor..!

Now have to go over and pick up my Dry food as it came in... Tote that Barge LOL..Does it get any better..?????

Have a better day people...enjoy all those colors sure is looking nice here

God Bless

Gorgeous drop dead beautiful day here in Breaux Bridge, La! Haven't had the a/c on for 2 days now and I'm loving it!! Karen and Frank pulled out this morning and Martha bailed on us yesterday. I told Karen I wasn't gonna cry since I would be seeing her in 2 months in Tx, but of course I did anyway. Sure does look lonely here, but Carolyn will be back over here later. We headed out to Baton Rouge this morning for some sightseeing and Carolyn was looking at my book to see what I had mentioned I would like to go see and she noticed that all but 1 on the list was closed today. Duh! I looked at that book this morning and didn't read that part. So since tomorrow was gonna be a down day for maintenence and getting ready to pull out on Wed, I did a u-turn and we are doing the down day today and BR tomorrow. Good thing Martha bailed on us for today!! (She was gonna drive over from her house and go with us for the day) LOL!

Martha hauled out those kittens the other day. I think she was hoping one of us would fall in love and take them off her hands. No one fell for it and she went home with kittens intact.

I'm glad Carolyn's keeping up with pictures since I've been so bad about it for the past couple of years. I used to be really good, but after having been on the forums for 7 years or so I just can't seem to get it together to post them. Maybe I'll get bored at the boy chicks house and get some done if my connection with my phone is good enough. Have to use the phone here to get online, wifi is 15 a week and it's tangonet which sucks anyway.

Hope everyone is having a great day and travel safe!!! Sure was sorry to miss the Alabama GTG, I've wanted to meet Vickie (HorizonSeeker) for a while now. Hopefully next year when I get back east again.

A putzing around day today in GC north rim. I have some work to complete on getting my fall class ready and need to check on my summer class final exam status. Then I might go for a long walk and do some laundry.

I pulled out some chicken to thaw, so I can make some chicken and rice dish with mushroom soup. Then I can parcel it out into smaller containers to reheat as I need it. Nice to have completed meals frozen.

This retirement is rough!

Oh, I went to the visitor center yesterday and met Gaelyn, the lady who has lived in an EV for 20 yeas and has a blog. Very interesting chat. Also attended her campfire talk last night. Glad I left my porch light on and took a flashlight along to find my way home.
