Good Morning Ladies,
I can tell that Isaac is affecting a number of our forum sisters by their absence for Coffee in the morning. It sounds like Isaac is turning into a worst case scenrio for MS, AL and LA. I certainly hope that none of our forum sisters, Marth, Vickie, Carolyn, Wendy and whomever else is in it's path down there, suffer much flooding or damage to their homes or properties. I know they will keep us up to date when they are able. My cousin's granddaughter is also in Baton Rouge going to LSU and last I heard, she and her friends were making preparations for the storm.
I have pancakes and sausage here for breakfast, topped with pure Michigan Maple Syrup if anybody's hungry.
Ellen, I have been working at the State Park for 16 years. In the winter I am on seasonal layoff and collecting unemployment for as long as I am eligible. And yes, I am considering not going back to this park cause of the change in management, but might anyway, cause I don't plan to work the summer of 2014 and in a way it's kind of crazy to start at another park just for one year. After I talk with the SS people in March, I will have a better idea of where I stand and what I am going to do. I do have to admit that the winters can get a bit long sometimes, but hopefully I have squirreled away enough project ideas to keep me busy this winter.
You bet I am looking forward to that vacation. Here and again, it's been ongoing for about 8 years and then one year with my dad when he was still living. i love that place and have considered moving up to that area a few times. There is also a State Park near there that I would love to work at, but don't know if I could swing renting someplace up there and having the expenses of this place down here both.
Going to be a bit warm here today, 89 they are saying, but a strong southwest wind, and that helps keep things comfty. Not sure yet if I will wear my work pants into work or my shorts. It's a bit cool out right now. Can always change into either one at work.
Judy, the pasties sound good. I would use the ready made pie crust too if I were making some. I don't make pie crusts, so that would take care of it. Quicker that way too. I've never made any myself and I should, cause I do like them. Just had one over the weekend from a Pasty Co. up in WI that's ships them frozen to our local grocery store. Good, but not as good as homemade of course. Burned the back of my hand when I took it out of my toaster oven and bumped the edge of the oven opening Ouch. One band aid and a lot of salve and Neosporin being applied these days. I'll live You also asked if I'm sure I want to keep an S&B. There are days when my soul longs for the open road, but I also like to putter in the yard and work on little landscaping projects. But where I am here, I have too much sun and I don't enjoy working out in the sun. If I had a smaller yard, it would be nice. This summer here is a bit busier than usual for me as I'm trying to get projects that need doing done this year. And with my neighbor's wife having that lung transplant surgery, I've added two more yards to the mix so to speak. But I've been able to keep a balance between working and dong them especially now, with things slowing down. Granted, there have been days when it's "let me out of here", but I'll be free in about three more weeks.
Time to get ready for work, so must be getting along here. Keep safe all those in Isaac's path, those on the road and everybody else, have a great day.
