Off and Running Tuesday!

Good Morning Ladies,

Gads, it's Tuesday already! My last day off for this week, :( But then I guess I had better not wish that, cause when I am done working, there are 7 months of looking for things to do after awhile. For the first couple or so, I am busy with the fall chores, but by November, thngs are starting to slow down around here and I don't get into "spring cleaning" till about February or so. But I am lining up some sign making projcts for this winter and who knows, I might go hang out in the U.P. for awhile although the budget will decide that.

Had a great trip through the islands yesterday. Weather was good for awhile, but you could see the rain moving in and it was just a matter of time before it hit us in the islands. Didn't last a long time, but enough to send all but perhaps a half dozen of us hardy souls below deck to the lower level. I watched the weather before I left and was prepared for it. But once it quit, folks started coming back up and it never did rain again, but stayed cloudy and it was downright chilly. I had put on a sweatshirt and a fleece hoodie under my windbreaker and I was glad I did. At first I wondered if it was an overkill, but I have been out on the big lakes long enough to know that weather can turn on an instant and those waters are cold to begin with anyway. At one point I actually wished I had a pair of light gloves along, but that was no big deal. And it was windy out on the open lake too. A flying spray kind of day. Either had better be sitting down or holding on to something if you were standing cause the boat was heading into 3 foot waves and it was a bit rough, but fun. Will post picture as soon as I get them into the ocmputer, fight with photobucket and then get them posted.

Getting ready to take Tessa for yet another vet vist to check and see how the infection is coming. She did have an accident in her bed yesterday, but otherwise I haven't found anything other than a little wet spot in my breezeway the other day. She may be leaking which means I will have to increase the Proin. A nulmber of you have suggested "doggie diapers", but with a long haired dog, that can create problems within itself too. Especially collies who have thick coats to start with and a lot of hair on their tails and legs. No, we will deal with the problem. Then after she's done, I am bringing her home and heading to town to do my shopping and banking etc. After that, I am not sure what I am getting into. Not in the mood for doing anything around here in a way. Maybe will go see my friend in Roscommon. Shall see. Do need to paint the trim on my deck, but don't hav ethe paint picked out yet and would rather do that when I have two days to do it. Paint it on one day and the second coat the next day. Won't take long, but don't want to leave too many days between coats.

Having to use my gas stove or furnace in the mornings now to take the chill out of the house, so you know fall is approaching. Going into the upper 70's again this week, so will be nice.

I sense an MH in Red's future :)

Haven't had time to read the AK trip blogs so that will be a good rainy fall day project, perhaps while I am up in the U.P. on my fall vacation if not before.

Yep, sure does sound like summer is winding down. Folks making GTG plans for points south, wrapping up our summer jobs, coming home from trips and schools already in session in some parts of the country. Our do not start here till after Labor Day, but football seasons are starting this week.

Got to get going here. Have a good one :)

Morning Sue and everyone to follow,

I sure hope Tessa's vet appointment goes well today. It sounds like she has been making progress and hopefully all the vet will have to do is tweak her medicine.

It does sound like there is a MH in Red's future, for sure. Can't wait to hear what she has decided on.

Barb, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your parrot. I will miss her chatter in the background during our conversations. I know yesterday was hard for you and Robert.

Woke up to the sound of rain. God is helping me decide what I need to take and throw away. I fell asleep before the news last night, so did not know it was supposed to rain this morning and did not put tarp back over the boxes still on the trailer I have been emptying, storing and trashing. I will wait until the sun comes up after the rain is finished to see what is able to be salvaged of what I was going to put in pantries. Going to wash a load of laundry at Mom's each day while we are still here to try to get my laundry done without having to find a laundramat right away. My niece has come to the rescue at Mom's. She is taking a bunch of what Mom has.

As always, Matt is being wonderful. I told him about having to throw away a whole lot more than what I had figured I would. He said just to put those trash bags on the his trailer I am in the process of emptying. He said he would have his guys tow it to the dumpster and throw all the bags away for me. He also said not to worry about any of the furniture that might be left in Mom's house. He said he knew about 50 people who would love to have any furniture left over. Mark and Darla are completely maxed out for space and cannot take another single thing. Mark said he was having to pray everyday for forgiveness for taking the Lord's name in vain every morning as he walked sideways to get to his bathroom, stubbing his toes the whole way. Darla is working everyday trying to make some organization to the chaos that is their house right now. She got to see the MH early yesterday morning. She loved it! She said it made it easier to come visit me. There are still things that were Chuck's and mine here, but they are in a new place and everywhere she looked, she was not expecting her Dad to walk around the corner. She was so excited to see the king size bed because she said she now knew she would have a place to sleep when I get back from our trip to Oklahoma. I have promised her a trip with Mom and me for a few days. She needs the break too. She has been working with me daily, calling me 2 to 3 times a day to check on me, and she is just exhausted. If there is a good thing about Chuck's passing, it is that Darla and I have gone back to the Mom/daughter relationship we had when she was a little girl. She has gone back to calling me Mom and calls me for advice everyday on all kinds of things. We laugh and cry together all through the day, everyday. All the issues she had at times with her Dad (they were too alike in personality and you know how volatile that can be!) got in the way of the relationship between her and me. I have always had that closeness with our middle daughter, and am so thankful to have that relationship back with our oldest. She was so upset with me yesterday when I told her a couple evenings ago I was either having a bout with heat stroke or trying to have another heart attack. She really got onto me for not calling her so she could get over here. I did not tell anyone, just made it into bed and was better the next morning. Have promised everyone I will not push through anymore when my body is telling me it has gone as far as it can go.

Sounds like the rain has stopped, so going to have another cup of coffee, make a pack of cigarettes and go survey what God has decided I just don't need. Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe!

Sue, You're such a busy gal. I do hope there will be a medicine to help Tessa. She must be uncomfortable and I know you are under a strain in caring for her. Dawn, it sounds like you are accepting the additional discarding of stuff. As we were separating and handling every object there was a memory attached. When you get it all sorted and Sunshine has only what will fit in loosely you will most likely not remember any of it. I simply couldn't have done this without my storage building but I have plans for more discarding, done over a period of time. We will start getting ready for the garage sale tomorrow and have it this weekend.
I'm now off to Conway (40 miles away) for the birth of my new great granddaughter...so excited!

Good morning Sue, Dawn and Nan and everyone else. Sue, glad you had a gret cruise and hope Tess gets better. Dawn, you've been under so much stress for months now. We women tend to push until we can't anymore. This is YOUR time now. You need to rest and take care of your body so you can move forward with your dreams :D Nan, congratulations an a new great grand daughter. How exciting!!

My day is just a list of errands and trying to finish packing stuff. Going through and polishing the silver pieces before packing up. I'm so glad to hand these off to the next generation. :D DH says his wrist hurts too much to go test drive the MH  aOh well! I'll keep trying ;)

Everyone stay safe and have a great day. Aloha ya'all

Good morning, it has started out to be my favorite kind of day, cool and cloudy!!

Sue sorry about Tessa, has your vet suggested hormones? Worked like a charm for one of my Standards who started having problems similar to what your describing is happening with her. I know how frustrating it is. Winnie goes about every hour and a half and because of all she drinks, well lets just say you wouldn't believe a little dog her size could hold that much. She doesn't bark to go out, just gives an over the shoulder look and if you aren't watching she goes to her papers. But, her aim isn't the greatest, sometimes she just gets her front feet on and misses the paper entirely :( I should buy stock in paper towels and vinegar. We ask ourselves what would have happened to her if she hadn't ended up in a home where people love her in spite of this weird disease she has. One of us is generally always home so we try to get her out on a regular schedule but at times we get lost on our computers or TV.

Red sound like your husband might not be ready for looking at RV's, why don't you go drive the ones you like.

I can't imagine how much stuff you guys who are downsizing must have accumulated, it will be interesting to see if you like the feeling. After we moved we both swore off collecting, I never go to yard sales or flea markets unless I need a specific item. I sometimes look around at the items we did keep that seemed important and I don't feel an attachment to any of it now except a few pieces of jewelry.

Time to get started, the dogs are ready for their breakfast now that they have helped me eat mine.

I am gonna need to "upsize" when I move. The place will be pretty bare since I have no furniture right now. I do like things simple and "minimalistic" but will need a few things anyways! I have lots of boxes of misc stuff at my dad's I left behind when I moved to CA, and stuff from way back when, that I want to start going thru, tho.

Another beautiful day here, sunny and 70's. The State Fair starts in 2 days. I might go on Friday.

Good Morning everyone... looks like many are busy...

I am sad... I put the pictures of my new great grandson and great granddaughter on my computer... I did not move them in and I had my granddaughter delete them from the disc... oops they are gone forever... just a wonderful memory in my mind... I know how excited you are Anna...

Oh Sue it is so hard to have a pet not being up to par... my Shadow has been very healthy except for his upchucking...

Dawn do you have a small storage place outside of the motor home? not sure but that may be an answer to the paring down that is just in case you want some of the discarded things...

It feels good to be home after being gone for 6 of the last 7 1/2 months... however I need to clean dust is every where... my son in law and two grandsons will put a new floor in Bright Hope sometime before I go out anymore... the carpeting is so bad and I want a vinyl flooring... that will help in cleaning... at least I think so!!

I hope everyone is having a productive day...
Kathleen

I was digging in the pantry this morning and came across my funnel cake mix so I had funnel cake for breakfast. Not a diet breakfast for sure but keeps me away from street fairs. ;)

Waiting on phone calls. The guy that worked on the tread mill didn't have the part he needed. And the Spay and Neuter Clinic is suppose to call me with an appointment time. I just love to wait. NOT Most days I don't do anything anyway but if I can't leave it makes me want to. The bank called and our checks are in so I have an excuse to go to town. lol

Stinky was in here pestering me. I thought she wanted to go outside but she wanted to go to the kitchen for a treat. Rotten Cat! I give them a treat when I call them to come in from outside so I can get them in when I want. Doesn't take them long to learn how to beg for treats.

Red, go test drive some yourself. Find what you really like so you can "sell" your DH on it. People can't believe my DH never goes with me. When I first got this motorhome he drove it down the road and back and has never been in it again. When we were driving back and forth to Baton Rouge for doctors appointments I tried to talk him into going in the motorhome but he didn't want. It has the best seats of any vehicle we have but I think the just likes to complain.

After all the flooding on the Mississippi the water level is so low that it is closed to vessels in some places. There were cruises going out of New Orleans. I haven't heard if the cruise ship can still get to New Orleans.

Well we're downsizing too, but not by choice. Yesterday when I went to mow, the gas can was missing. I had filled it before we went camping along with another one that I emptied in the rv for the geny. I got to looking around in the garage and not only the gas and can was missing, but so was a pressure washer, 2,000lb. winch and other power tools. The Sheriff's Dept. came out and made a report. He said the detectives would contact the pawn shops, I'm just hoping that they were stupid enough to pawn the stuff and not just sell it on the street. I could wring their necks, Ronnie wants to take a baseball bat to them. I was so upset yesterday I actually vomited ( I know, TMI), couldn't sleep last night worth a darn. I know it was in the garage, but still the thought of somebody coming on our property and taking our stuff just irks me to no end.

Vicki, how horrible for you. I will never understand thieves. I have had things "disappear" around here through the move too. It has been upsetting and hurtful because it has been friends that I trusted with keys. Since one of those friends had taken to not locking the garage back up, I found out, I have no way of knowing who the thief is. My kids were the ones who realized most of what was missing when they went to collect it. They had permission to take whatever they wanted so they were in actuality the ones who had been stolen from.

Ouch ! Vickie, I'm so sorry to read that news...nothing worse that knowing someone came in and took things ..it's like you've been violated.. Awful, feeling...and Dawn I know you too... That happened to us several years ago..and you always feel like someone is watching you or your house...SUCKS... I'm praying that the police can help you Vickie..and that those creeps get caught ...

Sorry folks I haven't been myself lately... don't know if any of you knew on F B but my Medusa, (parrot) died yesterday.. Hubby found her ...at first he said, "Zeee, Medusa is gone"... I thought he meant she got out again..and I thought NIGHT MARE as Parrots can do lots of chewing damage...have many trade marks from her..Not only on ME..but beams...any way..long story short.. I came into the room and hubby said, "Medusa died"...

She was "His"..and I mean the bond she had with hubby... amazing.. Me, I was like Finger food for her...although this time when I came back she was really sweet with me...????

Didn't realize how much we miss her...I mean she was really an awesome comical parrot..and we had her 35 years..unreal that I didn't let her escape..LOL...I mean there were times when...OMG...but however over the years she got her "Thing" going with the Critters and hubby..

So now it's a quiet house for the time being...and YES< I do miss her...that part shocks me...but I feel bad for hubby as she was his buddy...as I told him.. "Medusa is soaring the universe..so if I walk out and some bird dumps on me I know Medusa got me back "... he smiled...

To all of you that did send me kind messages..Thank you...it helped...

God Bless
Zeee and Critters 3...

Oh, Zeee, I'm sorry about Medusa. Even though she was DH's buddy, she was still a part of your life too, for good or bad ;) , for a very long time. {{{hugs}}}

(((((((((HUGS))))))))) Vickie, Sorry to hear you had some of your property stolen. It does make you physically ill to think of a creepy person like that on your property. Someone broke the window out on my last van while it was in our drive way to steal a little cosmetic bag, they must have thought was a purse. I felt so angry and violated I ended up selling the van.

Martha, your husband sounds like mine, he never even saw my RV until he took me to pick it up. He's rode in it once but didn't like it, says it's hard to get in and out of and he would never drive it (even if I would let him ) I always pick out and buy my own cars too, plus always arrange maintenance when the cars or anything around the house needs repair. I was single so long I guess I became used to taking care of things. He does the all the grocery shopping, which I HATE to do so I think I have a good deal! He also doesn't mind eating out :D plus he thinks one never has enough shoes!!

Zee just read about your parrot, I'm so sorry one does get used to our eccentric critters and love them even more sometimes. Hugs to you and your hubby.
