Damp Thursday

Good Morning everyone,
A damp rainy morning here at the 45th. Welcome rain although we have had enough of it this summer to keep things growing and greened up. The corn farmers are happy as so far so good and looks like a great yield year for them this year.
This will mean a quiet day at work too and a good day to work inside the buildings doing some dewebbing and so forth. The park has really slowed down this week. We are only a bit over half full right now (91 out of 1153 sites) but will fill up for the weekend. That time of year. School sport practices have started and some sports have games as early as next week and football season starts for most high schools on the 24th. So that taks away a lot of families from camping already.
Been a busy week for me outside work. Between taking Tessa to vet, shopping, prepping and painting deck, hopping on lawn tractor and pickking up debris piles from last weeks shrub trimming, cutting my grass, my next door neighbors and the one across the road, my two days off just flew. For example, Tuesday: go to breakfast at Bob Evans cause out of breakfast stuff at home, head to three different stores to do grocery shopping and restock fridge etc., head out to vet to make appt. that I forgot to do the day before, come home. Unpack groceries and put away, hop on lawn tractor and pick up debris piles, stop for lunch, hop back on mower and cut my grass and neighbors front (2 hours), stop, put second and final coat of paint on deck, back on mower to finish my grass and then mow neighbors yard across road (small lot), by then it's dinner time. Made quick trip down to Waters and got ice cream as I figured I owed one to myself after all that. Took Sassy for walk and picked up papers and mail for other neighbor whose place I caretake, and put them inside, come home and get on this machine for a short before heading to bath and bed. End of day Then yesterday it was off to the real world of work. Next week I am declaring a "play day". But since all this work is done, I won't have to do it again for awhile, the deck not till next year.
For those of you who are wondering from my past posts, my dog Tessa has a severe bladder infection that is just not clearing up despite 4 different antibiotics so far. I've taken her into the vets for what seems like forever this past month and we are now on the 5th antibiotic. The last one got her sick to where she wasn't eating and dragging on our walks etc., so vet said to stop it. He didn't want to use it to start with but he's running out of options at his pharmacy. I was told to keep her off all meds for 48 hours and then start this new stuff. She certainly perked up once she was off that other stuff and seems to be doing fairly well since. Back to eating when she wants, but did have an accident in her bed on Tuesday night. So I don't know for sure what's going to happen here. There is one more med we can try which has to be compounded from a regular pharmacy and is really expensive. Plus I found a bump on her rib cage that the vet thinks might be a growth. So....... Will just have to take it a day at a time and see what happens. Next week she goes back for a urinalysis again to see if there are any results. If not, we stop all meds for 7-10 days and go from there. Doggie baths coming up next Monday on my day off first.
On the brighter side, 7 more weeks to work and then that's it for this season. Really looking forward to heading to my hideout in the U.P. for a week or so. I will not go back to the park for the Halloweenfest this year as it falls on the first weekend in Oct. and I'm not short circuiting my vacation for that. Burned out of it anyway.
Been reading and trying to catch up on the different rooms in this forum. See everybody's doing their thing. Dawn, hope all goes well and you can close and be done with the place, get your MH and hit the road with you mom. CArol, sorry about the gen. Hope you can get it fixed. Hey, you have been saying you want to come to MI, well get up here, there's a gen repair place here in Gaylord Hope your tests turn out okay. BarbZee, sure have been enjoying your morning posts. For all I know you might beat me on before I finish this. Barbie sounds like she is contented back in MN and enjoying her work again. Lori and ernie are enjoying WY, have yet to see the pictures, will get to it. The AK bunch are starting to wander home slowly. What a trip to remember. Gonna be hard to top that. A few small GTG's out there too. Busy, busy, busy. Wendy, I"m waiting for you to head up here one of these days.
Well, more stuff to do before heading off to work this morning, so will wish you all a great day and talk to you later.
