Mid Week Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mid Week Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Jul 25, 2012 7:00 am

Morning all,

Mid week already! Another week is flying by. Summer always goes that way, especially in the northern states where summer lasts only so long. But on the other hand, there are a lot of peopl who probably will love to see this hot, humid summer end. Been a bit excessive in some part of the U.S. We are into our more normal summer weather pattern here now, temps in upper 70's to low 80's and very low if any humidity now. Beautiful weather actually.

Took advantage of it too, with another trip up to Mackinaw City. Really enjoyed it and hated to have to leave and head back home. It was the perfect day, hardly any cloulds, blue sky, a nice gentle cool north wind and lots of blue, blue water. I stopped at a local gas station/convenience store and got some hot dogs and cupcakes for lunch and then had myself a little picnic at the park by the bridge. Sat and watched all the action. Boats on the straits, traffic heading over the bridge, people walking around enjoying the scenery etc. The dogs had a good time too. We walked a little, then parked on a park bench and just enjoyed the day, walked again for a bit and then sat again. Lucked out this time, as two lake freighters went under the bridge. Usually I don't see but maybe one, if any, and this time I saw two. Upbound and downbound. Lots of boats out yesterday too. And of course, the girls, being collies, always attract attention, so they got their share of petting and admiring fans. And they enjoyed the cool breeze off the water too. Tessa actually fell asleep under a tree for a bit. So it was good day.

On the way home, the sky filled with smoke from a small wildfire about 25 miles north of me. The wind was blowing rom the north, so the smoke drifted down here too. It wasn't a big deal and the fire appeared to be small and contained, but it sure was smokey.

So fun time is over, back to work today. Rain moving in later on this morning, which we need badly anyway. It can rain all day for all i care.

So Echo is finally on the road to TX I hope and BarbaraRose should be starting out today too. Safe travels to both of you.

I must be off to dry my hair here, so want to wish you all a great day.

Sue is that the park near the light house? If so, that seemed like a really nice park. I downloaded all my vacation photos last night but haven't a chance to sort through them. But the first ones I saw were the Mackinaw City light house. My niece got tired of my searching out lighthouses but it was fun. I got three actual light houses plus a couple more channel markers. Someday I want to do a lighthouse tour of the Great Lakes, of New England and of the Northwest. We have a couple on the Texas Coast but nothing like up north.

I hope Echo didn't drive all night but stopped to get some rest. Good luck to Barbie today as she starts her trek north and east.

Sue, so glad your weather is good. Wish it was that nice here

Maggie, I love light houses too. Plan don doing an embroidered panel of at least one for my bathroom in the MH.

It's just after 8 here and am waiting on Echo. I am kind of on pins and needles. Want to see her pull safely in the drive. I figure she will be here anytime now.

Talked to Matt last night. He is saying he wants to close either Friday or Monday next week. He is saying after I can get my MH, it's all logistics. Once I am out of my house and into MH, then he can start remodel and I can get Mom moved into MH. Told him I felt like I was spinning my wheels. My SIL is taking next three days off work to help me everyday get more furniture out to the house. Right now we cannot even get to the furniture in the back room since I have it loaded with my MH stuff. Have started unloading the 5th wheel into the sewing room. I am stopped there until I can actually see what will fit in storage.

Wish Echo would get here so I can relax. I know she is having to deal with morning traffic coming through the canyon in Dallas.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am writing from Mandy's house in Pierrepont, near Potsdam in northern NY. Orion has HAIR now! In just two weeks he has grown a head of peach fuzz! Sure is fun to see him again. My job for today is to get him out of the house for some alks, and for some playing in the yard so Mandy has time to work on her paperwork for school. Tomorrow afternoon she has a meeting at school, so it iwll be just he and me for the afternoon.

So sorry to hear about the heat hanging on-----once again, I invite any and all who are roasting to come east and north to the the Adirondacks and cool off. It is 61 degrees here today. We had some brief rainstorms here yesterday....not enough to barely wet things down. Mandy's pond is as low as it's ever been since they moved in here, and they need rain desperately to make sure the fish in there survive.

Thinking about Echo on the roads, and hoping all is going well for her. Sue is busy and in the middle of her work/camping season. Dawn is moving along at last with her motor home anticipation. I hope all of you have a wonderful Wednesday wherever you may be.

Time to get going here and get outside for some quality Grammasoo/Orion time!

Hope you can all stay cool enough to have some fun wherever you may be.

Just a really quick check in this AM; will get back on line later today to start catching up as it has been a while since I was on here.
Have been recovering from another serious bout with dehydration - due to heat exhaustion. Thought I was being very careful but guess this old body cannot no longer take the excessive heat. I was just trying to clear the driveways and drains. I've been pretty useless for about 2 weeks as electrolytes out of balance. Finally beginning to feel human again but staying inside for the most part as the heat index is still going over 100 every day.
Wishing all a great day.

Sarah----come east and north! Being dehydrated is no fun at all. You need to carry water with you at all times when you have to go out. Good to hear from you this morning! Hope to see you in FL again this year, with your very own house-on-wheels! Have you made your reservation yet?? :)

Just a quick check-in from San Diego! Slept a little later than I planned but I needed it I guess. Just need to finish loading up the car with last minute things and then we're off! Should be in Big Bear by 1 or 2 this afternoon.

Have a great day and stay cool!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sarah I was wondering about you this morning. Hope you continue to get better. Stay out of that heat lady!!! It's supposed to be another 100+ day here AGAIN and was 83 when I went to the grocery at 7:30AM that was all I'll do out and about until after eight tonight. But!!! tomorrow supposed to start to cool down to the upper 90's so hope it comes your way.

I've been wondering why we haven't heard anything from you....should have checked. Sorry you've been sick...take care of yourself. Hire a kid to do the yard work.
