Good Morning all,

Was almost going to type Monday instead of Sunday. Good thing I remembered it's Sunday or I would have confused everybody again  Guess I am anxious for my days off to get here. Actually I am. This time of the summer starts to drag at work a little. Not that we aren't busy and our day goes by fast, it's just that it's into the "same old, same old" routine right now. The park has been kind of quiet yesterday. Have a number of camps gone and I'm not sure if we were supposed to fill up again last night or not. And there will be some leaving today. Vacation week is over for them.

It's cooled down nicely here. In fact, I'm sitting here in my work pants and a flannel shirt at the moment. Morning air is chilly. Not complaining at all. Looks like we are edging up into the 80's by weeks end again.

CArol, yes I will be glad when the season is done and winter is over. It's been a stressful summer so to speak. With getting used to working under a new supervisor, my friend being up here this month and us bumming around a couple of days a week or so, trying to keep things up around the house and yard and what I am sure will be some more changes at work, it's been a bit hectic and the heat wave didn't help any either. My boss and also our lead ranger are both interviewing for other positions that are coming open. Boss wants to move up the line and is interviewing for other supervisor positions right now. Some supervisors are retiring this summer. Our lead ranger is interviewing for the same as he wants to move up and also it's time for a change of scenery for him as well. So I've a feeling that somebody will be moving on before this summer is over. Although nothing may come to pass for either of them.

So now I've got to get ready to head off for work and start cleaning the potty places. My co worker comes in at 10 and we will be off to do our routine and see what else we can get into. We can be dangerous sometimes when both of us are in a develish mood

Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, I'm glad you're finally getting some of the cooler weather. Maybe with the break in the temperatures, the park will be maxed out instead of people cancelling.

Today is our last day at the state park we went to for the July 4th weekend. We had been here almost a day when we started having electrical problems and lost our electric. With the 100+ degree temperatures we had this week, we needed our a/c going. We couldn't find the problem other than the fact that our 30 amp plug was burned. We left in my car to go to a hardware store to get a new plug when we ran out of gas. Apparently when hurricane Irene hit our area and flooded our yard, the module that burned up which controls our windows also affects the gas guage and it doesn't go lower than the 1/4 tank mark. After calling our friends at the state park that were camping with us, they found us, took us home to get a gas can and gas, took us back to our car and got us going. After we got the plug, that didn't fix the problem. We took the motorhome to another campground where we know the owners and after some troubleshooting, found wires that had burned behind the breaker panel under our bed which shorted out our system. Repairs were made and we stayed there one night to make sure we didn't have any other problems and the next day went back to the state park. Besides being really warm, we've had a nice, relaxing weekend. We'll be heading home this afternoon to enjoy the rest of the week.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Irmi what a nightmare for you and Steve! Glad you got it all sorted out, hopefully. Not a fun chain of events for you!

Sue, also glad it is cooler at last for you. I am cold this morning at 65 with a steady breeze again. No pool for me today, even though I have managed to shock it clear again and the water temperature is warmer than the air today!

Scary afternoon here yesterday for Dinah. While carrying some clean laundry from the house to the trailer, I kicked a little fuzzy toy that Dinah loves off the porch and down the front steps. Dinah flew through the air like a horse taking a jump, cleared all the steps by a long distance, landed on her entire underside FLAT on the paving rocks of the sidewalk---back legs splayed out to the sides so that her belly was flat on the ground. She tried to get up, could not move, panicked, began drooling profusely, and when I dropped things and went to her, she was shaking profusely and terrified, as was I. At the least I thought both of her hips must be dislocated. I went into into the house and called the vet (it was already 4:00 on a Saturday) to find out if someone was there who could see her. A really nice one was there and I said I was bringing her right over if I could lift her into the truck. I managed to pick her up and put her into her traveling crate in the back seat of the truck, loaded Molly up, too, and took off like an ambulance. All the way there I was terrified that maybe she had broken ribs and would die of a pierced lung. I kept trying to check to see if she was still alive. After what seemed like an endless trip (it's about 18 miles, or so) we arrived and I asked for some help getting her out of the truck. We lifted the crate onto the ground, whereupon Dinah, still drooling and with some poop in the crate, walked out on her own! I was dumbfounded!

After a thorough exam, no bones broken was determined, and her hips had either sprung back on their own, or she is the most felxible dog we had ever seen! She relaxed a bit, took a drink, still drooled a bit, but wagged tail no less. We got pain pills for a few days, in case of residual pain, but this morning she seems as if nothing had happened. Amazing. She will now get step/stairs training, as she does not know how to go up and down them. It cut down on my money allowance for the bluegrass festival substantially, but I was so relieved I didn't care.

Will check tire pressure on trailer today and top off, if needed, stow stuff, back truck up to hitch and hook, and then disconnect power and TV tomorrow morning. Weather is looking pretty good, so far, anyway. The moon is bright at night, and it should be a fun time.

Happy Sunday to all!

good morning ladies
Soos...poor Dinah, and I'm releived she is ok, but what a scary moment for you.
Really liking these cooler mornings but this next week its suppose to be back up there in temps. Not to sweat it, my bus has good a/c and my car a/c
is working well too, at least for now, but since its failed a couple times, I don't hold my breath.
Working on the quilt again today, got 4 panels done yesterday and all the seams are ironed. Will connect those today and cut my diagonals and then
put the extra fabric where it needs to be. Then I should be ready to start adding the borders. Picked up the border fabric yesterday on a trip to
walmart. Batting is in one of my tubs so no need to purchase that. (glad I hung on to that when I sold my fabric collection)
The little sewing machine is doing fine although being that its all plastic I wonder how long it will hold up. It only cost me $39 at Christmas and now
the same one is $59. Its tiny and lightweight but just doesn't go fast. I miss my big one but it would cost too much to fix as I think I broke the
motherboard in it when it fell out of the van. Course the heat in storage didn't do it any good either. I take that as a lesson in life. I'm starting to
ramble so I'll just get my next cup of coffee and continue on with my day.
Ya'll have a good one.

Soos, so glad nothing serious happened to Dinah.

Irmi, so glad you got your electrical problem fixed and all seems to be OK.

Ava, don't forget to post a pic of the quilt you are working on.

Not sure what this coming week is going to bring. Got a text from Matt, who is buying the place, that he will be back in town on the 16th and be over to see me that week. Really going to have to hit it next week! If he brings me the money for my MH, I want to be right at ready to move in right away. Also, the lady who was originally going to take the big dogs called yesterday. She is the one that I drove out to see her place and sheep she raises. She was the one I wanted to take the dogs but she was concerned about her barn cats. She told me she wanted the dogs if I had not already for found them a home. Her husband had passed away after a major stroke and she was scared at night being that far out in the country. I asked about the cats. She said they would just have to learn to stay in the front pasture as the dogs would have the run of all others. I know she will be good to the dogs and I am relieved they are going to her after all.

Darla and Mark are on their way over for their weekly trailer load to take to their house. Tahra and the granddaughters are coming over today too. Sure will be glad to see them all.

Everyone have a great day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Wow! I see that yesterday must have been an unlucky?, stressful?, day for more than just me!!!!! I spent the day at work freaking out and stressing trying to remember if I had made sure I had shoved the door of the trailer shut tight! Unless I have the trailer setting in just the perfect position the blasted door wont shut and latch. So at night or when it's windy we use a bungy strap on the inside to keep it closed and when we leave we use a knee to shove the door shut. Yesterday Kelly didn't come back home after cleaning the bathrooms, she took her shower and went straight to WalMart. She was still doing a cabin when I left for work. Could not get a hold of anyone to go to the trailer to check. What a relief to get home and find the door shut tight. Also I got sick at work yesterday with the heat and that was no fun at all. Got sick to my stomach, light headed and a screaming headache! Plus I was drenched with sweat, but at least I 'was' sweating! Ending up having to sit down for about 20 to 30 minutes simply to catch my breath and try to cool down. Finally went into the big walk in cooler to cool down. I am so glad that I have made up my mind to put my app into WalMart. I just can not handle the high heat and the carrying of all the plates. They keep telling me to drink lots of fluids and to pace myself. I do drink lots of water but how the heck do I pace myself all that much. I need to hustle to try and keep the dishwashing machine running, I have got to carry out plates and bowls, return baking sheets and all the rest of it too. If I don't I run out of room on the clean dish table. I have worked some wicked hard jobs but never have I worked this hard in my life. And for the amount that I'm earning. Lead guy says he's trying to get me out of dishes but just can't take me out altogether as he has no one to fill in and take my place. :( I'm sorry but he's gonna have to do just that in a few weeks!

It's 84 outside right now, feels like a freaking sauna out there and it's suppose to go to 97. Tomorrow says 90 and Tuesday it's calling for 84. Will sure be glad to see it going down into the 80's. Tuesday I am hoping to get the wheels off of the trailer and take them up to the son so that he can get the tires off. Plus he has ordered the A/C part and just maybe that will get fixed!

OK, gonna go read and maybe catch up. Hope that your day if a good one and for some hopefully it will be better than yesterday!!! Remember to do the best ya can to be safe!!!

Love to all

As I read each post I concluded 'That's life' sometimes good, sometimes not so good, and sometimes as a friend of mine used to say, sometimes a horses--- sandwich
My granddaughter's baby shower is this afternoon. I had planned to go then go to Searcy to see my other great granddaughter. I had a scratchy eye yesterday and today it is worse and red. I'm a little concerned it might be pink eye and that's contagious so thinking I shouldn't be around people especially a baby..nurses, what do you advise?
I took down all pictures in two bedrooms as painters are starting tomorrow. My house is going to be a disaster until this is over. I am so glad I'm going to be in the trailer at my son's in a couple of weeks. He is walking distance from me so I can go work each day at the house then go home to 'order'. I have picked out some things for my granddaughter, one of my brother's will take some things and my son will get some tools. I will put what I want to keep in my storage building. After they take away what they want I can get my head into the selling of the remainder. I woke up in the night thinking about it all and it seemed a daunting task in the wee hours but I have learned to turn a huge project into several smaller ones and it helps.

I'm in Grand Island, Nebraska, headed in a few minutes for a Sonic chocolate malt and a day at the Stuhr Museum of Pioneer life. I have been trying to alternate a couple of days of heavy driving with a day of rest and sightseeing. Staying at Mormon Island campground. Switched sites when I found out that a "pull-through" site is really a "pull-over" site and your slide is hanging over the roadway!!! Now I am in a fairly decent back-in spot. Getting better at actually backing in.

It is also cooler here today so the outdoor part of the museum should be OK. It might even rain, which I would welcome.

I am having some serious problems with my rear end hanging over on all four sides of the gel cushion I bought as a booster seat to drive with. It is too small for my ample rear and is hurting, plus cutting off the circulation on my legs, so I bought some foam at JoAnn's last night and am going to try to fashion somethiing I can put in an old pillow cover for now. I really need a wedge-shaped larger cushion but can't find one online or at truck stops. I KNOW I am not the only person with a larger-sized rear so why don't they make one???????

Good morning all. It is cooler here in Houston, but so very humid. More rain heading our way and the yard is loving it. Lazy Sunday.

Judy- try Amazon and search for wedge pillow. These are readily available for people who suffer from acid reflux. They might work for your needs.

Soos- glad Dianh is OK and hope you have a great tiMe at the festival

Good morning !! Sure hope it's a better day for some of you ,then yesterday was. Poor Diana, Soos I can just imagine the state you were in, hope you both are doing ok today. Irmi, what can I say?? What a day !!!! Sure hope today is problem free. Echo, I have thought of you so much in that hot kitchen, I know what the weather is there, it's only going to get worse, I think you are very wise to apply elsewhere, where you don't get so over heated, that IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU !!!!
Judy, I was a little confused when you talked of changing sites because your slide hung over, in the road AND then you start talking of your rear end hanging over, I was still thinking RV. Hope you can find a pillow that is comfortable, not good cutting off circulation. Nancy, sorry about the possible pink eye, not worth the chane of infecting babies. But gosh showers are so much fun, sorry, hope your day is a good one, in spite of this.

Looks bad outside today, while doing our walk really got a good look at the sky, direction we are heading is scary , hope it all clears up in the morning. Had thought to leave today, but weather said it wouldn't be a good day, Hey for once looks like they are right !

Getting everything in order in here, even thinking of pulling in the slide. If it rains most of the day as the sky looks, not sure tarp over it will be dry in the morning, time I'm ready to go. Just stopping overnight don't always put it out, don't want it rolled up for days wet. So hoping no rain on my route tomorrow, but they need it so bad here and I really am not going that far, so would be ok.

Wishing you all a great day ,one with no problems, just one filled with fun and enjoyment,
Take care those on the road and the rest of us need to stay dry and in some areas cool, going to be nice here finally,so that cool part leaves me out :D

Ava, we will need to see the quilt !!
CArol :)

I just have to add, I Love Rudy's Pix, his look catches me each time I see it, what a loveable photo that is !!!!!

Carol I sure do hope you will have a safe trip home. I am leaving for VT in the morning, and might not have internet connection until I get back in a week, and I will be worrying about you. Take your time, for sure, and keep a wary eye to the sky. I am so glad you have a brand new RV as I think it will be safe and sound. Hope I can get on here before the week is up.

Irmi, you were lucky to have friends to help you with your electric on a holiday. If anyone sees your electric plug start to melt get it checked. Mine was doing that and it was a lose wire inside the coach. The tech said it could have started a fire. Every thing vibrates so much going down the road sometimes I'm surprised my cabinets don't fall off.

It looks like it could rain so it's not so hot but the humidity must be about 100%. It is very uncomfortable to go out side. My son wants to take his son fishing at the pond. It's a toss up wear longer pants and melt or wear shorts and have the bugs eat you.

Judy, it looks like a truck stop would be the place to find a big cushion. Maybe check in some of the online auto parts sites. I have ordered rv stuff from J C Whitney. My motorhome has really comfortable seats except I stick to them in the summer if I wear shorts.

Carol, hope you have good weather for your trip. Take it easy.
