Howdy everyone,
Another Friday has rolled around. For those who work a M-F week, you have a weekend coming up. For those of us who work the weekends, it's just another work day coming up. Looking at a very busy weekend here too with the holiday crowd coming in. The park is for all practical purposes, full up and with the hot weather, there are a lot of day users cming in as well as others to launch their boats and spend a day on the water. Tomorrow night they are having the Fireworks over the lake and the annual lake boat parade, so that will draw more people.. People start coming in early to stake out their place in the picnic area and we always have a huge crowd for fireworks. Needless to say, by Sunday morning, the beach is one big mess after that crowd leaves. But I love it when the place is busy. Keeps one on one's toes keeping up with it.
Dawn, hopefully your neighbors won't start a fire in your dry pasture and maybe they will hold their show till the 4th. In MI, if you accidently start a fire, you are responsible for any damage that fire causes as well as cost of the fire suppression. So if you are really careless, it can be costly, espcially up here where it can cause a wildfire.
Kathleen, if you are getting bored, head on north, it's not as hot up here as it is down where you are. We had a cold front come through yesterday evening and it has knocked the humidity out of the air. Very pleasant here right now and although it's supposed to hit the mid 80's today, we are supposed to have some fairly good breezes, so will be a nice comfortable summer day they say.
BJ, pack up your rig and head north. It's way cooler than where you are. If you wait fo the weather, you will never use that rig.
CArol, what's the latest on Maggie? Hope it's nothing serious.
Was looking at the pics from Liz's trip to the Arctic Circle. Got to put that on my bucket list. Beautiful country up there. I watch that show "Ice Road Truckers" and I sure wouldn't want to drive that in the winter. Tough souls those drivers. Will be checking out the other reports as well.
So, time to be getting ready to head for work. I think my friend Brenda is coming over after work tonight and running some programs she has on flash drive to clean out my computer and make it run more efficiently. Have a wonderful day all. Keep safe if traveling and keep cool if you are where it's really hot.

Good morning Sue, Kathleen and everyone that follows!
Sue, you're going to have your hands full at the park this weekend, but it'll make the day go by quickly.
Kathleen, it's so good seeing you here again! Get yourself dumped and get your groceries so you can spend the rest of the day with your family.
It's going to be another warm one on the eastern shore of MD, but it sure beats the chilly spring we had. My family is having their annual family reunion tomorrow, which is hosted by my brother and his wife this year. All of us kids take turns hosting it so it isn't a financial burden on any one person. So every five years it's our turn. A crab feast starts noontime tomorrow and then steaks and chicken will be cooked on the grill. I'll take potato salad and a crockpot of baked beans for sides.
I'm getting to walk out the door to get a workout in, so I hope everyone has a good day. Be safe if you are on the roads and stay cool.

Just reading about you girls living in cooler climates almost made me feel a little cooler...I say almost Here in AR we have had two months of record temps and higher humidity and our hot months are still ahead of us. Now that I have Destiny sold I can start planning a trip to cooler places. I will work like a turk in and around the house for a couple of weeks, then it will be time for a break. My daughter now works a schedule that give her 5 days off in a row so she will fly to meet me. Right now we are thinking Door County, WI. Colorado was our first choice but not with the fires.

I finish school one week from today, then 1 week from tomorrow I head for MI and cooler temperatures!!! I wish I had time to take the trailer with me but that would add almost 2 weeks to the trip. And since I already have my trip planned, renting a camper this time isn't practical. I know my niece would love it, my mom not so much. And part of the reason for the trip is to "test drive" the two places we are eyeing for our family reunion next year. We work it so everyone shares the costs but each family rotates through hosting - which means finding the place to hold the reunion and planning the activities. Since my mom's family lives all over, we don't hold it in just one area. And we chose MI because last year it was in TX where it was 105 in June!!!
I have cream cheese kolaches on the desk - save one for me, but you can have the rest if you want. No coffee here, it's too warm.

good morning ladies
another hot one today, (of course, its az, its always hot)
woke up in the night thinking it was time to get up, got up and just about got a cup of coffee ready when I noticed the clock. It was
only 1:30!! No way was I gonna have coffee, so I turned on the tv, found something dull and boring to watch and fell back asleep. But
I'm really tired now and would like to go back to bed but will have to take a good bath and then meet daughter at 11. She's taking her
car in for service and tires so we're going to a movie instead of waiting. They will call us when the car is ready.
Girls have gone back to bed and I'm going to get the bath water running.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning y'all, My grand kids (13 & 16) left yesterday. The heat wave arrived with them and broke as they left. It was 110 the day before they left. They are from WA and all they could talk about was how HOT it is in TX. I think the heat will be their primary memory from the Lone Star state. We spent a week of shooting skeet, touring Blue Bell ice cream, surfing at Galveston, Astros game, swimming, movies, museums and a sunset drive up country to Dairy Queen in the classic Mustang convertable. I'm pooped. Now, my youngest daughter arrived yesterday as well for a short visit. She just returned from traveling in S.E. Asia ala "backpacking" for a few months. This is her stopover to decompress before returning to WA and the real world. She is going to house/dog sit for me while husband and I go to Vegas. He is an avid poker player. I usually don't see much of him when we are in Vegas. This time I've rented a car and will probably go up to the mountains and hike and also look at RVs while he is otherwise occupied.
I love reading the blogs of our Alaska adventurers. I feel like I'm on the trip with them and I am so motivated to get things accomplished that will allow me the same freedom and opportunities. Aloha Y'all

It's already 95 in South Louisiana. I need to get dressed and call the tire road service to come change my tire so I can move my motorhome. He would probably rather do it this morning than at whatever temperature it is going to be this afternoon. It was good to sleep in a real bed. One more night on the sofa would have done me in.
No other plans for the day. Guess I'll go see how my grandson is making out. His mother called here last night. She thought he was going to stay with me. It's ok for him to live with her and her boyfriend but not for him to stay with his dad and new family. He is fine until he talks to her. I would like to know what she is telling him that upsets him so much when she calls.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Gonna be a hot one today here, it's 84 now and it's suppose to be 102 today. They're saying it's suppose to go up to 106 tomorrow. If it does it will break a heat record that's more than just a few years old. Gonna dread being out and around today and tomorrow. But got to go up to my sons as he wants to work on the truck. And tomorrow I have to go to where he works as he is gonna have one of the guys that works there and is a A/C tech check out my A/C on the truck. Would be nice to have that fixed and working.
Kelly is off doing her campground job, she left at 10 instead of waiting for 10:30 to get an early start. She was hoping to beat some of the heat but it's already way warm out there. I am not looking forward to the heat nor the 2hr ride to JC but really need to get my butt around and out the door. I need to get up there and early enough to go to the DMV and get the plate for the TT that Dawn is giving us. And ask so if and when he might be able to come back down and we can jack up the TT and block it to take the wheels off so that I can take the tires to TX with me.
Hope everyone can stay comfortable today. In other words, warm if needed and cool if your stuck in this freaking heat wave. Have a great day everyone and be safe. Please if at all possible don't be messing around outside in this heat. Sure don't want anyone to be harmed by over doing it in the heat.
Love to all

GOOD MORNING ALL!
I am late posting again, due to its being retirement check pay day and bill-paying morning. Now that I am all paid up and back to square one in my banking account, I feel poorer but calmer! I managed to save enough money for gas and entry fee for the Bluegrass Festival in VT soon. Now I just need to get that fiddle out, tuned, and practice, practice, practice!
It's so nice out here today----thundershowers passed us by last night, although we did get some nice rain. Now the sun is out, the breeze is stiff and wonderful feeling with the temperature at about 75 degrees. I feel so lucky to be living where the weather is not just ok but super nice!
Mandy and Orion are due back today sometime, and I can't wait to see how much he has grown this week! I miss him something awful, and, of course, my daughter, too!
Frozen wild blueberries, which are, yes, firmer than cultivated ones, are just as good as the fresh ones. I have never had to throw away any of them, as my daughter found out when she raided my freezer last winter to clear it out and use the berries for jam and jellies! But cultivated ones frozen may be good for things like wine and syrups?
It sounds like a busy we coming up for a lot of us---4th of July and all.
I got 3 over-the-air HD channels on the TV in the old trailer yesterday, after connecting the trailer to electricity, and was happy to find a combination of antennas and HD converters and such that worked well enough to at least get something. I now need to spend time getting the plumbing re-connected in there so that guests can at least have some water for washing themselves and dishes!
Wiley and Joe tried to fix my non-grounded electrical socket for this trailer yesterday, and they did get it grounded. However, my surge protector that I always plug this trailer into tells me that the poles of the circuit are reversed, so the protector doesn't like me to connect. Sooo....back I went to the inside plug which is wired correctly, but requires my bringing the cord through a partially opened window. Wiley says he will bring over a new socket assembly and do the plug in the outside area corectly. We shall see, even though he says it's just fine to run things as it is. Personally, I like electrical things to be totally correct. An electrician my former husband is not! A gentle reminder as to why we have not lived together in almost 20 years now, as we never agree on anything!
Carol, hoping Maggie is still feeling good----I remember how much she hated the heat when you were here during a hot spell a couple of years ago. Perhaps it's just the heat geting to her.
I hope to mow one part of the far field today, now that the grass has gone to seed and hopefully filled in some blank spaces out there. Perfect day to mow, so off I go.

Three more days. We've had a brutal couple of months chucking, selling, donating, cleaning, painting, storing and now it has finally reached an end. On Monday we start our new full-time life in the Big Kitty (Cougar fifth wheel toy hauler)! The little kitty (Mooch the Cat) has been living in it for the past week as we finish up the house. He does not approve, but will get used to it eventually. Actually, he's been a lot more resigned to it than we expected.
The house gets listed today. Some last minute things this weekend (including a farewell dinner with close friends) and we're off!
I just can't believe it. I just cannot wrap my mind around it.

Up late this morning since I did not go to bed until about 5 this morning because legs and arms hurting. Have I mentioned I hate this heat?
At about 8:30, Mom's dog, Sugar, came in the house and into my bedroom to announce in his loudest voice that it was time for me to get up and dispense treats. At least he waits longer than he used to. Used to be he would come in between 5:30 and 6:00. Paul has taught him to wait a little longer by throwing his slipper in Sugar's general direction the times he has stayed at Mom's when she has been out of town or in hospital. Paul hated those early morning wake ups
Oh Barb, just you wait! I am just getting started with apps you really need! You are going to wish you had upgraded sooner
Going to be going through fabric and notions again today dividing what is going to Darla and what I am keeping. Will be so glad when I get finished with the house. Then I get to start on the out buildings. No A/C! I will be working on those early, early in the mornings. It feels like I am never going to be done with this, but I know I will. Never, ever do I want to do this again! Thank goodness I will be restricted on what I can accumulate in a MH!
Everyone have a wonderful day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning all.
Sue, I would be on the road in a heartbeat but it is going to be 107+ today and humidity is going up. I don't dare go on the road in that kind of heat it would take me two days to get to just a little cooler temps. Also my brother is seriously ill in the hospital so...here I am.
I hope they call fireworks off here and try to ban them, it is so hot and dry someone is bound to start a fire. I have never seen this hot of weather here for so long, they are saying it is a record breaker and combined with the long drought it is very bad. People are struggling to save their gardens by watering but I'm not sure if any thing will survive the heat.
I either have a virus or just reacting to the heat, so I called the doctors office and they said there were two viruses going around and just in case I should not go visit my brother. Not that I feel like it any way but I feel guilty. I downloaded another D. E. Stevenson book from Audible so will take up a prone position & sip my chicken soup.
Soos, send some of that cool weather this way. I wouldn't think there would be any difference, other than taste in cultivated vs wild blueberries as to how you could use them.
Dawn I don't envy your job take it easy!

Hi All, I wish I could send some of our cooler drizzle weather east to calm down all those high temperatures and help with the fire fighting. We've had on again/ off again rain and drizzle and the cherries are beginning to split from too much water so this weekend we're picking the tree clean and will have to sort before eating/canning/dehydrating. Some of them are also harboring a very tiny white worm so we'll be looking closely for a teeny tiny hole --those will be cleaned and cut up for raspberry/cherry jam. July 5th is opening day for U-pick blueberries, we'll be at the field for the 8am opening. My cousin and her husband are coming up from CA to pick with us this year. We bought a second chest freezer to handle the volume of freezing fruit. July at our place is like going back to work full time but we are grateful for the bounty and give thanks the rest of the year and "Santa" always brings a couple coolers full to the kids.
On another note: we're still waging war against a (one) deer who has targeted our yard as her buffet! She's crashed through the top 3 ft mesh deer fencing numerous times so we're re-fencing and going up 7ft with all weld wire. It's amazing what one deer can consume.
Gotta go start picking cherries.
