Okay, it really is Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Okay, it really is Friday!

 Good Morning everyone,

Well, all i can say abuot yesterday is   but also   It was interesting reading the reactions of different people to the titie of yesterdays post. Some weren't sure if it was an old post, others didn't even notice and others got confused. As for me, I guess my brain melted from the heat or whatever or else the fact that I have only been off two days in the last 16 and am so eager to meet with JudyJB today, that I was just thinking Friday

So, today actually is Friday and it's nice and cool out there. About 49 on my thermometer. Going to be in the loe to mid 70's. Maggie, you should be here right now. If this was the year for your reunion, it would be perfect. Supposed to cool dowin in to upper 60's to low 70's next week, so Soos, there is some cooler air heading your way.

I'm going to be leaving in a little while to head north to Mackinaw City area and Wilderness State Park to meet up with JudyJB. Can't wait. We talked for a short bit on the phone last night, to touch base and she sounds like a wonderful lady. Should be a fun day. And I will get to see her beautiful new rig. Her last few days in Michigan before heading back to OH and then off to start her dream of full timing, are going to be splendid. MI is giving her a grand farewell.

So, guess I had better get my act together here. Have a few things to do before I leave and a couple of errands to run in Gaylord before I head north although, I might let one pass till next week.

Have a terriffic day all. Will report back on our "mini" GTG later. Not sure about pictures though as Photobucket is giving me a hard time and I haven't been able to post any. The button that says "Upload pictures" or whatever is all tangled up in the wording that should be above it and I can't use it. If I try the bulk loader, it locks up my computer  Guess I will have to investigate some other program and see how to download into the site from that.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Hope you and Judy have a fun time meeting and chatting and whatever today! I would love to see her new rig!

It's 66 this morning at this hour, and feels downright cold! Sky is overcast, but no rain, so they say, until possibly later this afternoon. I have printed out my UPS return label, got it on the box, and am heading to Saranac Lake to drop the phones off in a drop box. Then off to Radio Shack I go to find one I can see before I get it!

Coffee is hot and there are oatmeal cookies with cranberries to tide you over until a real breakfast.

Off I go.....Happy Trails to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Yay, it really is Friday. I was one of the confused group

Sue, have a great time with Judy today. I know you will. Be sure and post pics when you can.

Soos, hope you find just the right phone for you.

Ava, have fun doing the laundry. That is one of my least favorite chores. If I don't make myself do it, it can sure stack up, so make myself do a load everyday. When get on the road, will be once a week, I imagine, since no washer/dryer hookups in the MH I want.

Mom, Paul and I are going to CW today. They are having a 4 day sale and we all want to see if there is anything on sale that we need but don't already have before hitting the road. Sure wish I already had the MH now because then I would know for sure what I needed. I am going to look at the folding coffee table. I know that is something I want for the livingroom area. Someplace to set drinks and ashtray when sitting on the couch.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if traveling, stay safe.

Sue, we had a good time with your 'off' day. I know you and Judy are sitting and having brunch or lunch and talking up a storm. I can relate on photobucket..some of the girls have it mastered and I don't know what is going on with my brain as I just gave up, uncharacteristic of me. Some also have good luck with Picasa. I use Picasa for all my pictures everywhere else but this forum..def brainlock :?
Soos, I empathize on the online order not being right. I ordered awning braces (not sure if this what they are called) and they came in wrong too. I just discovered I only have one brace and I've never opened the awning. Just trying to get it completely up to snuff.
Ava, so glad you are doing so good...I know this has been difficult and stressful on all levels. My fingers and toes crossed for you to get the disability money.
Dawn, I can assure you that you would have spent another 1000 for the W/D combo they put in so many MH's. My ex and I had one and it was good for very small load, like a few pieces of underwear, took forever to dry towels. I used laundromats anyway.
I hope you don't take offence and I'm sure you know this but if anyone smokes in your mh, you have reduced it's potential resale not to mention the amount you can get for it. Non-smokers can pick up even the slightest hint of cigarette smoke.
Barbie, sounds like a fun trip. Enjoy, you have earned it tolerating your impossible manager.

Absolutely no offense taken, Nancy. I am a smoker so a place to set ashtrays is a must for me.

Off to a slow start this morning. Winnie for some reason know only to her had a barking fit in front of DH's bedroom door at 5:30 AM. So we all settled in for a nap after coffee. Then the phone rang at nine and it was the doctors office in St Louis wanting to change his appt. today from three to 12:15. He was already up and showered so I fixed him a PBJ and got him out the door in time, it's a two and a half hour drive.
We had quite a bit of excitement here yesterday, DH gave Charley his pill by mistake (thankfully DH didn't take Charley's pill) so I had to do the peroxide thing to get him to throw up then called animal poison control (whose charge is $65.00) !! to see if anything else to do or watch for. Luckily the dosage was low enough that at his weight they said it wouldn't be too bad. But did tell me to watch for him acting lethargic or he started throwing up again. I had called the vet first as couldn't remember whether to give the peroxide straight or with water and they recommended the call to poison control. I felt so bad for both of them I know it was a mistake but I told him laying both pills out at the same time was a bad idea. All is well and Charley seemed fine after about an hour. One of my friends was going to give her dog his monthly heartworm pill, got distracted by her DH and popped the pill into her mouth. The vet laughed a said it happens a lot and she would be ok.
Soos I'm with you on the phone issue, I went to Staples and Best Buy, decided which ones (cordless) I wanted, then order for $40.00 less plus free shipping on Amazon. There weren't a whole lot of choices as I think most people have switched to cell phones. Some are bluetooth now and would link to your cell. I didn't get one as I'm not on the phone that much.
Nancy I think a lot of people base their purchases on smell. I know that was my first consideration. I wanted one that didn't have all the formaldehyde smell that so many new ones have which ruled out most new ones but on my budget new wasn't a consideration. Also some places detail their used units with cleaners that smell, so I was lucky to find one that passed my nose test! I did purchase from a dealer and they said they would have it all cleaned up for me when I picked it up. I said please don't!! I will do any inside cleaning that it might need so they said they would allow for that in the price. The van looked brand new inside so I really didn't have any thing other than going over the bathroom to clean.
Well it is now a little past noon and I just finished the third course of my breakfast. I hope Judy and Sue have a good GTG!

Dawn and anyone else, remember if the mood hits you to quit smoking I'll be happy to do hypnosis for you. The class I'm in right now has two former smokers that the instructor hypnotized only one time and they haven't smoked since.

Good Morning,

We were to head out to Chena Hot Springs road for several days of boondocking this morning, but the library and Internet connection called instead. I haven't finished sorting through my Arctic Circle photos so don't know that a blog post will get done today. Amazing how many photos of caribou one can take hoping for one good one!! I enjoyed the scenery and wildlife on the tour, but I was not prepared for weird meal schedules nor such long days.

The first day, I finally mentioned that we had a river float trip reservation when we got to Coldfoot so our guide decided we better get moving! We got there in time for a very quick salad and then off to the river at 8 p.m. We returned about 10:30.

The 2nd day we went to Wiseman to hear a very knowlegable man speak - but no one told us it would be outside for 2 hours with the mosquitoes! I like the new mosquito repellent wipes I bought.

And I survived my first small plane ride :)

Now I'll see what news I can catch up on!

Years ago when they first came out with the first heart worm pills that were chewable one of our dogs chewed the bottle and I don't know how many she ate. The vet said she could eat the whole bottle and it wouldn't hurt her. No wonder they didn't work half the time. What pissed me off the most was all the trouble that I had getting one down her everyday.

I really lucked out this morning. The battery light in my DH's truck has been staying on so I brought it to the Ford place. I got in line at the service department and turned it off. It wouldn't start when they went to move it. I was going to stop at a store on my way but changed my mind. It's a good thing I didn't stop.

I hate the new phones too. The only one I have found that my DH can use is a $10 one from Walmart. It's so lite that he drags it off the table regularly. He's getting hard of hearing and can't hear it ring. I had ordered an $80 phone for people with hearing problems but he couldn't get along with it. It had a light that blinked and also rang. I never could explain to him how to make the light stop blinking. :? Any thing with more than 2 adjustments he going to screw up.
