Good Morning Soos and all who follow,

It's a beautiful cool morning here in Northern Michigan too. Temp is about 37 but heading into the 60's later on. Perfect working outside weather. Fortunately we don't have the black flies to contend with.

The massive wildfire in the U.P. has slowed down as it is now burning into the ground in peat moss and other vegetation in the area. That will keep flaring up for a long time they say. Otherwise it's 55 percent contained. The decision is supposed to be made shortly as to whether or not to allow the property owners to return to their properties and for a lot of them, that's all there is, just property with nothing left. 135 structures are destroyed including two resorts and numerous campgrounds. One propery owner who was able to go see his cabin, said it survived, but there's nothing around it now but black ground, stumps and trees. Used to be a beautiful spot he said, with pines and hemlocks. All gone. So sad. But the other side of the coin is, the forest will regenerate with new growth and become new habitat for wildlife and birds and will reduce the further risk of future fires cause all the fuel has been burned. Will be interesting to see how many will rebuid. The area has very few road, some places no electric, just generators and CB communications. Mostly ORV and snowmobile trails, so very hard to access. Now that the stories are starting to come out, it was amazing that nobody was killed or injured.

We are busy at the park, working on projects that need to get done before the summer crowds start decending on us. Biggest are the finishing of the fencing along the north campground boundary and by our dump station as well as removal of some by one of our toilet buildings as well as re roofing of one building. Lots of small details too and also repainting of our campground contact station and possibly mini cabin. Gonna be busy. I power washed the shower floors in two of the buildings yesterday and gave the bathroom floors a good hosing out. Wish I could clean my bathroom that way

Hope the AK group are rolling along nicely and no more weather issues in the way. Thinking about Carol and hope she is doing better. I'm sure she is worried about her Maggie and also disappointed that she can't join the group. But the summer isn't over yet either. One never knows what's going to happen. There is always hope.

Beth sounds like she is on Cloud 9 up there in Valdez. It's a beautiful place to spend the summer.

Morning all. It's raining pretty hard here right now. Lot's of thunder and lightening. Just had a streak of lightening hit in the front yard. The thunder from that was so loud the dogs and I all jumped. I am hoping we don't have any more tree branches break. I have tree branch leaning against the house. I have asked SIL to help me this weekend get it moved. When that hit the house really early yesterday morning, Belle and I woke straight up from a sound sleep.

Going to work on cleaning out the closet in the guest room today. Haven't been able to start back up on that for the last couple of days. Darla, oldest daughter, is probably going to come help this evening. She fell the other day and hurt her hip and back. I have been trying to get her to go to doc to get it checked out. So far no luck. She is her Daddy made over in lots of ways. Stubborn as a mule! She says she wants to help me get house emptied out and ready to sell so I can get my motorhome as soon as possible. She wants to go on trip in motorhome. Promised her we would go somewhere she wants to go.

Well, time to fix 2nd cup of coffee. Have Toaster Studel for anyone wanting breakfast. Have a wonderful day!

I'm hoping we get some of your rain, Dawn - but you can keep the lightning

I don't blame you on the lightening. I have never seen lightening strike so close to the house before. I caught it out of the corner of my eye just as it hit. Then immediately the thunder sounded really loud. Because of the rain, we are going to have highs in the mid 80's for the next couple of days. Then back into the 90's. Yuck. Hate the heat.

doctors appt this morning, stop by the post office to pick up my mail and swing by the grocery store to top
off my gas tank with my points as today is the last day of the month and part of those points will drop off.
Have over 300 so thats a 30 cent discount per gallon. Its down a half a tank.
Need to go get an eye exam sometime in the next few days, new glasses as these are a good 4 years old.
Besides, my vision isn't correct with this Bells Palsy yet. I think a new prescription will help my eye get
back where it belongs. The vision insurance gives us one free eye exam a year and the year starts over
the first of July. Then I can get another eye exam before school starts to correct it further if need be.

Good Morning Ladies! I had a wonderful call from my second cousin this morning... we talked for an hour! we have not talked in years so there was much to catch up on... my dear aunt Anna will be 103 this summer... wow maybe I will have long life also! we will see her this summer... Kitty my second cousin has taken care of aunt Anna all of these years then this spring she had to put her in a nursing home... that had to be hard for sure... we will have a family GTG in July!
We have a welcome cool down today... it will only top out in the mid 50s... what a change...
Yesterday I vacuumed and shampooed the MH... need to steam clean it again as some of the spots did not come up... I need to get awake first... it always takes me a long time to get moving... coffee does help a tiny bit...
O Soos I am so glad Diana is coming along so good... she has a good mama... she will bring you and molly much joy! Sue thank you for the update on the wild fires... we do not hear much down here about them... the UP is somewhat wild... Dawn I do not envy you the tasks ahead... but the end result will be a MH to travel the country... memories are so hard to let go of... Ava it sure sounds like you are progressing... so glad for that and will be waiting for an update from the doctor visit...
We have 100% chance of rain and my bones can tell they are correct...
time for another cup of coffee...

Today is my last day of work, so I am packing up stuff from my desk and typing up some loose ends. Will be so nice to sleep in tomorrow and run my errands in the middle of the day instead of after work when I am tired.

Oh, and I think I have my car sold. Guy called me yesterday as I was driving to work, and we pulled over into a parking lot so he could see the inside and get more info. He brought his wife and four kids over to my condo last night and went for a test drive. He will let me know his decision today, but just at the bank a few minutes ago, another person said they would be calling me soon about my car also.

For some reason, letting my car go is harder than letting my condo go--strange. Now I can focus on getting things packed up for my 6/16 move.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Haven't been stopping by much lately but I do check in on everyone. Nothing much going on here, same old, same old. Still doing the dang dishes at work but I'm working mornings for the most part. I will have to work 1 to close Sat and Sun. Lead now says that he is going to schedule me for the front line a couple of times after the 4th. I am just about at the end of my rope with doing the dishes. I have been thinking that I might have arthritis in my right thumb as the more I wash pots and pans the more it aches. I have been taking Aleve twice a day to help with the pain. Left one is starting to bother me too. Not gonna talk much about my back, shoulder and arms from carrying and putting away pans in the kitchen or carrying out all the plates. If nothing much changes after the 4th I am either going to HR for a transfer to something else or totally looking for another job outside the park.

It has been hot and humid here for the past week. It is sooooo nice to finally get home to the trailer and into the A/C. I get home and strip then sit in my bra and panties and just 'chill' for a while. I am so thankful and grateful to my son for putting the window unit in the trailer!!! Don't even want to think of what it would be like without it! We would cook for sure.......

Gonna do a little house cleaning and that will be about it for today. Kinda broke and to to tell ya the truth I for one am not interested in being outside in this heat!
