Morning all,

Another beautiful day on tap here in northern Michigan. But we desperately need some rain. Fire weather watch is in effect here today as it's going to be dry and windy.

Just finished some scrambled eggs, sausage and strawberries for breakfast. Will be making my lucnh and getting ready to head out the door in a bit here. Another get the park ready for the big weekend day. My co worker and I went through our bathroom/shower buildings with a fine tooth comb yesterday and today I am going to hose down the exteriors, not that the cobwebs won't be back by tomorrow. A constant battle there. Am also going to take the leaf blower and blow off all the stairs going down to the beach along the campground etc. So I will be keeping busy today. There will only be one other maintenance worker besides myself in the park today as two of my co workers are a father in law/daughter in law and right now his wife is in the hospital facing heart surgery as well as some other complications, so she is going to be with the familly today, and two others are going to clean our 15 boating access sites we take care of. Of course there will be staff in the campground office as well.

Soos, i have a ramp for my dogs to get in and out of my Flex. Got it from PetSmart and it's very lightweight and folds down nicely. They are getting used to it and don't mind going up and down it either. You might consider some kind of step for Molly to get up on the bed with and just put it on the bed during the day, out of your way.

Kathleen, would be nice if you can get to see your friends in MI. Hope your knees keep getting better so you can move around better.

Ava, sounds like you are moving around more. Hope your problems gradually fade away and you can resume your normal lifestyle. Hang in there.

Been enjoying reading the AK blogs and posts from everybody. Brings back lots of memories for me, especially some of Beth's. Looks like everybody's having fun and enjoying the trip. Liz's description of their visit to the Fort Laramie area sounded like fun and it definitely is on my list when I eventually head west as well.

Well ladies, I must get moving along here. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Safe and enjoyable travels to all those who are on the road. And if any of you are planning a Memorial Day camping trip or whatever, have fun and enjoy.

chilly and rainy here in Wyoming but the report as of yesterday was for quieter winds for those wanting to get up on the highway. That would be us. Nan is heading over to get two batteries installed this morning around 7:30 AM (Wyoming time) and we should get moving soon as soon as we get the word from her that she is ready. Besides us parked in this fine free city park there are only what looks like two or three traveling overnite cars/trucks that pulled in after we went to bed.

Here is an orange juice toast to everyone's journey today. Take care. Find and enjoy all the bright joyful moments that you can...the other stuff maybe can't be ignored but can be endured. Hold on to the joy......

cloudy and wet here :( I will be more than glad to send anyone who would like some R-A-I-N!
sue.. sound like things are underway for the holidays to start at the campgrounds! Places here are starting to fill up too... rain or shine they seem to head out...
I heard that gas might jump up to 35 cents more !! that would be well over $4.30 a gal! I am all gassed up for my trip back to the beach.. glad i did it a few days ago... Here in the WA they say we have the highest prices.. what a big rip!

Going up to Olympia with friend and have lunch and do some window shopping.. She has to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond... ( love to browes in that store) so it will be a nice outing.

Everyone have a good day! Safe travels to those on the road...

good morning ladies
picked up my paperwork from the doctor yesterday afternoon, she put my return to
work status as June 1, thats just not gonna work, I've already missed my assignment
for the summer because of this. Don't know whats gonna happen now and DOT (dept
of transportation) is not going to release me to work if my eye doesn't work right.
Now I'm stressed cause I think I won't be covered moneywise. Wondering if I should
get new copy of the forms and take them to my regular doctor to fill out. I'm so
frustrated. For the first time in my life I just don't know what to do. I suddenly don't
like that neurologist.

Morning. Today is prep day and tomorrow I have a colonoscopy - yeah for all this fun. That's all I'm up to today - so boring. Guess I ought to fire up the work laptop and get some work done though.

Good early afternoon everyone... got a late start as I could not get the internet to work for a while...
My computer will be in the shop for several days next week... they have to replace the screen which is the whole computer... there is one dead pixel and it will spread... so glad I got the Apple Care plan when I bought this one... I will have them go through everything and make sure it is all good as the contract which is not renewable ends next April...
I was able to download some books yesterday on my Kindle...
Sounds like some are getting ready for the holiday weekend...
Drive careful...
Kathleen

I can't believe how fast this day is passing! Tina I love what you wrote this morning
" Find and enjoy all the bright joyful moments that you can...the other stuff maybe can't be ignored but can be endured. Hold on to the joy...."
I needed to be reminded of that today.
Yesterday I made a strawberry/rhubarb pie and for the first time my never fail pie crust recipe failed  I think I figured it out though, I'm thinking it was because I used bread flour. It tasted really good but looked like a kid made it for their first baking project. I added the peel from one orange on top of the filling and only used 1/2 cup of sugar. Yummm plus I had some vanilla ice cream. I was surprised when I got on the scales this morning to see I had lost a pound!
We would sure welcome rain here Christine our yard looks like it is like August.
