I guess it rained last night - didn't hear anything but the ground is wet. If you've been following my blog you know we have zillions of new plants outside that need lots of care - Bills babies
A year ago last night he had his heart attack....It has been a long year. Now though he finally is almost back to what he was before. I think the physical part is over(caught him lifting 60# sacks of cememt the other day) but it is still messing with his head some. Don't tell anyone but we went to McDonalds for lunch to celebrate yesterday.
Have fresh coffee and crossiants in the kitchen and strawberries from the back yard.
Now have to get busy with bill paying and laundry - Monday chores - I am begining to remind myself more and more of my Mother. Set in my ways........

It doesn't seem like it's been a year, Carol, but i'm so grateful that Bill has recovered as he has, and that you were able to make your trip to Mexico. You've filled the year with many adventures, and we all appreciate you taking us along through your blog.

The sun is up here in WY. I'm having breakfast in my jeans and sweatshirt, but expect I'll change to shorts and T-shirt before we embark on our day's journey. Supposed to get quite warm today, then a windy cold front comes through tomorrow and I'll be back to jeans and sweatshirt.

Ava, I know nerve pain is awful...I hope the neurologist can help you get some comfort while you heal.

Coffee is hot, and so is the oatmeal. Got raspberries, blueberries and nuts to go on top. Come and join us.

Have something to be excited about today. Our friend who is camp hosting in Oklahoma just called to let me know his parents are leaving the CG today so Mom and I have that site close to them. The guy who handles RV rentals is going to meet me at 9:30 - 9:45 this morning so I can pick up the MH. Mom is excited about going too. Woohoo!

Liz, sounds like wonderful day coming up for you all.

Ava, hope you recover quickly with a lot less pain and discomfort.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone!

Carol, it's good seeing you here again. I'm so glad Bill has recovered as well as he has and that you will be going back to Mexico for many more years.

Liz, I'm enjoying following your posts and blog entries on your trip west and then into Alaska. I am so excited for all of you!

Dawn, I hope you & your Mom have a great adventure in the RV. Try to let us know how your trip is going.

Ava, I sure hope your pain goes away soon and that your life gets back to normal. I feel so badly for you.

It's still chilly and damp in MD. I just lit the woodstove to warm things up in the house, but will be so glad when the sun finally warms things here on the east coast. My parents are doing well considering everything they've been through and my sister has her ups & downs. I am so fortunate to have my health.

We'll be leaving Thursday for a 4 day Memorial weekend trip to a fairly local campground. The Ocean City traffic here on weekends is horrendous and we can get to this campground on back roads, avoiding the crazy traffic. Just hoping the weather warms up.

Take care and have fun!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I cannot believe I am here! I clicked IN, and VOILA! Here I am with no problems, thus far, anyway. Thanks, Beth, for the server info---I will be here for only a few more days, so will probably just grin and bear it---well, maybe not grin but grit (my teeth, that is)!

Carol, so nice to hear from you! How did that year go by so fast? I suspect that lifting 60 pounds bags of cement might not be such a wise manoever, however, for Bill! But very happy he has healed and that you are both home safe and sound after a long rehab year for the heart.

Ava, I had no idea you would be in pain with Bell's Palsy----maybe I missed a post that I will try to get caught up on after I leave this room. I am so sorry for the pain, and hope it will abate soon.

Dawn, I am so excited for you to be getting your RV!!!! And for your mom, too. I can't wait to hear about your adventures as you put away the miles and comments!

Irmi, I hope you two have a great weekend at the campground and that the weather will be nice for you. I sure do miss your cooking! (And, of course, your company, too!)

Liz I can't wait for another blog installment as the Wild Women head ever more northward!! I sure do wish I were there with you. I will be looking forward to hearing how Mitch and her trailer make out on those roads up there, compared to you others with motor homes. I hope she can give me some bravery to do the same before too long!

I just called Mandy's vet, and have an appointment for Molly this afternoon at 2:45. She is putting a bit of weight on her hind leg now, but still prefers to hold it in the air and hop on the other hind leg. I will feel better to get another opinion (my opinion is I think it's a bad sprain or twist) and get her some more and newer pain meds to help her rehab through it.

It's another beautiful day here today! Yesterday I found a neat floating raft in the kids' garage, blew it up with Joe's help, and went swimming all afternoon after Mandy and I got back from St. Lawrence's graduation. It was a super nice day for that event, and Orion and I stayed for the whole thing. He never cried once, and loved the bagpipers when they marched the students and faculty in and out! What a beautiful university this is. And, I might add, it ought to be as the yearly tuition is now over 52,000 bucks!

Off I go to clean the trailer once again, and perhaps get ready for another swim. The top foot of the pond was a warm temp, and, below that, it felt like my spring-fed pond back home! It was a very hot afternoon for this part of the country, however (in the 90s) and so felt oh-so-good!

Hope all those on the roads today travel safely and have nice weather. And, for the rest of us, I hope we find fun things to keep us on the move.

good morning ladies
slept in this morning, most likely cause I was awake during the night for a little while. Have little sores
on the side of my face and neck, wondering if I've got shingles with this. I've never EVER been a sissy
when it came to getting sick but this time is different. I'm a real sissy and I don't like this and when
all this is over and said and done, I'm gonna make a goal to take a trip. I'm not waiting till I retire.
Its good to see a post from Carol, now I'll have to go and catch up on her blog and check out her
flowers.
Have to go do bloodwork today for the thyroid and make that appt for the neurologist as well.
Daughter called and said she had a ticket for son for grandsons graduation on Wednesday. That
will make son happy but I told her not to worry about me cause I won't be going the way I am
feeling.
Time for another cup of coffee and a little toast so I can take my pills.
Ya'll have a great day.

What a great morning it is... so nice to see and read all the posts... Carol glad you opened the coffee room... and Liz I will be right over to have some of that oatmeal! It would be nice to sit by the wood stove with Irmi and have coffee... a wood fire is so warm! Ava you keep plugging away and you will get better... it is ok to complain and here is a good place to do it... most of us have had health issues and understand...
It will be cooler here in Normal today in the 70s so much better than the 90 of the past several days... we had a good rain last night the crops needed it... my hanging basket that my daughter gave me for Mothers Day drinks so much water but rain water is the best!
One more day of lazy then I can move around more... the knees seem to be much better when getting up and walking up my steps outside... lets hope it helps long term...
Tomorrow is Shadows check up and shots for the year... I will have him checked for old Arthur as he has had a time getting up on the bed... sometimes he yelps and jumps back off like someone shot him...
Time for a coffee refill...
Kathleen

This weekend Carolyn and I went to a campout with a new group, the Getawaygals. It was in Colfax, LA, near Alexandria. It was nice to only be about 120 miles from home instead of our usual 500. The campground is by one of the locks on the Red River. It's a small campground run by the Red River Waterway Commission. It is very clean and has a very nice meeting room with a kitchen for no charge. We must have been on our best behavior because one of the workers wanted to know when we were coming back. I met 2 women that only live about 20 miles from me. We keep rounding up Louisiana women, before long we can have more Louisiana GTG's. It wasn't too hot and it cooled off at night so my air conditioner didn't come on. That's nice because it is so noisy.

I need to get my motorhome cleaned out so it can go to the shop. The cruise control had been working when it felt like it but now it doesn't feel like working at all. I have a trip to Florida in June and it will be a long trip without the cruise control.

Ava,I thought of shingles when you mentioned the nerve pain. If so, see a doctor, any doc ASAP, as they can give you meds to prevent permanent nerve damage if caught early. Shingles is nothing to wait out....see a doc, seriously.

What is Ramsay Hunt syndrome? What causes it?

Ramsay Hunt syndrome (also termed Hunt's Syndrome and herpes zoster oticus) is a herpes zoster virus infection of the geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve. It is caused by reactivation of herpes zoster virus that has previously caused chickenpox in the patient. Ramsay Hunt syndrome results in paralysis of the facial muscles on the same side of the face as the infection. So, the virus infects the facial nerve that normally innervates controls the muscles of the face. Ramsay Hunt syndrome is typically associated with a red rash and blisters (inflamed vesicles or tiny water-filled sacks in the skin) in or around the ear and eardrum and sometimes on the roof of the mouth or tongue.

Wow, Ava----this has become something vastly different from just Bell's Palsy, apparently.

Almost there seems to have found a description of the exact symptoms you have been experiencing. What does your doc think about this possibliity?

I am praying that you find some relief soon for whatever in hell it is that has attacked you. Hugs from me.

Ava, I hope you insisted on seeing a Neurologist very soon, if necessary go to the ER. If time is a huge factor in treating this they must get you started on medication. Another thing I might mention. I have suffered nerve pain in my hip and leg in varying degrees for over 30 years. I know this is very distressing to you as your facial muscles are affected. Try very hard to relax, stress and tension cause little and big muscles to literally clamp down on the nerves. Take a muscle relaxant, anti-depressant, pain med, whatever it take to relax. We are here for you, maybe in seemingly small ways but talking and expressing does help.Good for you making plans to take a trip, start planning it, it will give you something to occupy your mind.
