THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I can't believe it, but I am here! I arrived at about 12:30 pm yesterday, and Joe backed me into my spot I left in October, in their driveway, next to my plug-in post. This morning I decided to see if, by some miracle, I had any internet service out here, as I remembered they upgraded to cable this winter---and LO! I am sitting in my trailer with a hot cup of coffee, and I am online! Talk about a luxury site, this is it-----and the price is right!

Orion now weighs 25 pounds, and is the heaviest 7 month old baby I have ever hefted! He seems perfectly formed, but just solid, heavy muscle! He is so damn cute I can't get over it! And he seems to know me----perhaps because of the contact via Skype these past few months?? Anyway, he is one happy little (BIG) guy who will probably walk before he crawls, given his leg strength and size. I had to tear myself away form them all last evening after Joe cooked us a yummy steak outside, made tater tots in the oven, and I cooked some fresh corn I bought with Mandy when we went shopping. I was able to buy 4 6-packs of my beloved flavored seltzers at Price Chopper, and will indulge in some good cold beverages once again!

The dogs are both tied, as the road is very close, and Dinah is a roamer, hunter, runner, but they seem to be fine. They get slong great with the other two huge rotweiller/lab mixes that are the kids' pets. So far, all is good, and I am so relieved to be here!

The plan is that I am getting their current two-door refrigerator back at my house, an electric stove from Joe's sister, Elizabeth, (no workable stove back at that house since the 80s when it caught on fire and burned up) and the kids have bought a new refrigerator for this house here. No cost to me, which I am loving! The floor back there isn't too bad, Mandy says, as far as being puppy chewed by my two puppies from years ago, and there is virtually no smell any more, according to Joe who went to check on things the other day.

We will all stay here until Thursday, then head to my house for overnight so we can pick up Goog and Melissa at the Plattsburgh Airport on Friday morning. They will then go to visit their grandmother with Orion for the day, and return to my house on Friday night. Other than those plans, I know no more!

I hope all are having a good day doing some fun things. By the way, my trailer now has a name----EAGLE----just decided on that!

enjoy your summer Soos, sounds like a great one in the works for you.

Good morning ladies
don't know for sure what I'm doing today, do need to get to the store and get some dog food
or the girls won't have a proper dinner. But I am honestly afraid to drive for fear I might miss
something on the road with my eye the way it is. I also need to call and get my followup appts
scheduled. Taking only two prednisone today, one this morning and one at bedtime and
then one last one tomorrow. Frustration is starting to set in with this belles palsy and no
amount of research I do is going to make it heal any faster. Still trying to understand how
this happens , science has theories of herpes, chickenpox or shingles causing it but nothing
really definative.
Ok, heres the plan, I'm going to the store early while my eye is strongest, no tape so I can
use both eyes and focus on the road. I use my finger to blink my eye to keep the cornea
moist and get in and get out quick just for the dog food. Sound like a plan? Won't know
how well it works until I try it cause feeling homebound is really not doing me any good.
Ok, off to get dressed and check in with ya's later.

Sounds like everyone has a plan, at least for today. This is our last day in Mountain Home. Have had fun visiting with our friends playing tennis, and boating. Today, we continue to make reservations at the various towns we will be visiting in Europe. Summer is one of the expensive times of the year and need 2 rooms when possible although in London, we will be altogether. Not a lot available at a reasonable price. Our jello plan is that we head to Memphis tomorrow then Nashville and then Asheville before going to Raleigh. We may have time to drive thru the Blue Ridge before being in Raleigh on 6/8. Enjoying the Alaska blogs. Soos, enjoy your visit and, Echo, hope it all works out. carold

carold - know what you mean about European pricing. Fortunately, most of my trips, I was visiting my sister who lived over there for 12 years. We would still travel out from where she lived and her ideas of proper hotels and mine differ by as much as $200/night.
