GOOD MORNING TO EVERYBODY!

The smoke from some brush fires (I think this entire state is about to burst into flames if we don't get some rain soon!) is driving me out of here today for a trip back home and for a swim in my pool! I'll head back here tonight for two more nights with the kids before I get on the road. I may pick up a bucket o' chicken from the Colonel on my way back. This will also give me a chance to pick up a couple of things I left back at the house as well as shut off my living room ceiling fan which is not needed. I always forget something----although with the kids checking on the place now and then, and with watchful neighbors, all should be ok until next fall, hopefully.

Barb, I hope you have a fun trip back to see your daughter and your father! Keep in touch, if you can, so we know how things are going. Pics are even better!

Hope you all have a great day, no matter what you are doing and where you are. Happy Friday, and don't forget the Super Moon tomorrow night, if you are anywhere you can watch it rise. It should look HUGE on the horizon as it comes up.

Silly Remi jumped up on the bed about the time my alarm for work has been going off. :) Guess he didn't get the memo about no more work and wanted to be sure to get a snuggle in before I had to get up. He was happily surprised not to hear any alarm and we both rolled over and went back to sleep for a bit.

Now I am up and ready to chart out my to do list for Alaska.....first Herschel and Remi said they wanted to get their nursing home visit in. They have their priorities. :)

Having a great time at Carolyn's new summer home, although her presence is missed. Set it up and then be a no-show  Lots of eating and talking, but no pics yet. Maybe we should leave it to your imagination  think we will go to the Treehouse today and a store to get Sarah a pen stylus for her new iPad. off to have more coffee. carold

Another cloudy, drizzly morning here in Oregon, wish I could send some of it to Soo's to help dampen those fires! I keep watching the garden boxes to make sure our young plants aren't getting too much water. So far so good but we could sure use some sunshine! The national weather service says sunshine tomorrow and for the forseeable future but that changes daily, I don't think anyone can predict our weather accurately. I just hope we have some sunshine next weekend for our RVW rally. Mary and I are the hosts and although we didn't plan any outdoor group activities it would be nice to meander around the campground and walk the dogs without slickers and galoshes (and wet dog smell in the rv). We've decided to only take little dog since we're going to be busy coordinating meals and activities. She likes having us all to herself once in awhile without big brother horning in on the love ;) No chores today, guess I break out a puzzle and watch a movie rerun or two. Next week will be busy busy. Oh, we had a deer crash into our fencing two nights ago. It broke two of the 8ft wood poles and messed up the netting but didn't get into the yard. Phew! We were wondering if there were any around this year since we had not seen any.. oh ya, they're still around. Last year the deer got all our tomatoes (had to replant after installing the 7' netting), ate the lower branches of the two cherry trees and nibbled all the tips of the apple tree. I love the beasts, they are so pretty and seem so gently (those eyes!) and they can have anything they want OUTSIDE the yard. They can even nibble the roses and raspberries that wander outside the metal fence but stay out of the yard! Have a great weekend everyone...

We keep having rain in the forecast about 5 days out, but we never seem to get to 5 days out. I hope we don't end up in the same drought conditions we were in last summer. That was scary - and it was hot, hot, hot! But they were saying on the news that La Nina is kaput so maybe we will be in a more "normal" weather pattern. I know that it's already 90, but at least it's not already hitting 100 like last year.

Mom told me yesterday that my niece wants me to come to GA this summer and take her and her friends camping. I think I've created a camping fiend. I just wish I didn't live so far away. It's a 2-hard-day drive pulling the trailer for what would probably be 3-4 nights camping. And in July, is there a cool place in GA? Because if she were to invite more than 1 friend, someone(s) would end up in a tent - and it wouldn't be me!!!

Ah well, I will talk to the kid this weekend and see if she wouldn't rather go to MI! That's what I was planning to do.

I need to get busy at work but I'm not in the mood. And then I'm doing Relay for Life tonight. And then I start the final push for my class - 1 week from today is the end of the term. Then I start my last class - yay!

Hope this 4-leaf clover I came across on my early morning walk is a good omen for our trip to Alaska....or at least makes up for not remembering to say "Rabbits!" on the 1st.

I'm not used to being on Central Time yet...got up at 5:45 and didn't realize until I was all dressed and walking back from the bathroom...(causing all the little dogs in the cg to bark as I walked by), that it wasn't 7 a.m. as I thought. Of well, it was daylight.

Hope everyone is having a good time at the TN gtg. And Soos, I know you are both nervous and excited to be heading back north in a few days.

Wishing everyone on the road safe travels. This is a day of relaxation for me today, and maybe a bike ride if it doesn't rain.

I think the moonlight kept waking me up last night, I always get restless when the moon is almost full. I brought a mimosa blossom in and but it in a bowl of water and the whole house smells wonderful. It's way early for the mimosa to bloom.

I had to get up early as Charley is having a day out. He had to get his teeth cleaned and when I told him he was going to see Dr. Anderson he went to the door and was ready. They called when we got home to ask a question and said they hadn't put him in a cage, just turned him loose to visit with everyone in the back. Wish I could find him a day care where could play with people and not dogs. None of my Standard Poodles would ever pay attention to other dogs, they always preferred people.

Anyone headed to Alaska (or anywhere else) coming my way I would love to see you. It is supposed to cool down next week.

The full moon this Saturday is also one known as a SUPER Moon - so should be some nice viewing. If you don't have clouds as it looks I'll have.

I cheated today. Up early enough, but got 2 of the 4 blog posts I need to do done - that takes time. Then pulled out (am at a park with no hookups that only allows one night) and decided to stop for groceries, etc - so Wally World time. Then decided I'm overdue for a haircut. Next thing I knew I was still in the same city and it's close to 2 in the afternoon! So, I'm back at the same city park - and hoping they don't come chase me out. Catching up here, and plan to get the other 2 posts done. So, tomorrow I might drive further - as I can truly (hahaha) get an early start.

In another two days (maximum) I'll be in Canada - do not expect to hear from me for a week or so when that happens - unless I stop someplace with wifi. If I do that, I'll get on Facebook if no where else and leave a message. After I'm in AK, will turn my phone and data back on.
