Top O The Morning to you all,

Beautiful sunny morning here at the 45th. Predicted high of 60 today. Not going to hang around here too long today. Gonna hit the road and take my "new wheels" for a ride. Yep, that's right, I have a new set of wheels. Just took delssivery of a new 2012 Ford Flex yesterday. Leased for three years. Love it. I'm sure you are all wondering what this is about, so I poted the details in General Talk (Bit of a Change).

This is the last day I have to "play" before I head back to work on Monday and looks like the last nice day of the weekend for the most part. Tomorrow of course being Easter Sunday and last I saw, some rain showers expected. So my plan is to run the vac over the house, already have a load of wash going and in the dryer, and then the dogs and I are going to take off and head north for awhile. Give me a chance to see what this new set of wheels can do. After riding around in my big truck for the past couple of years, with it's heavy duty suspension and for some reason a bit more road noise than I've had on my other trucks, this things rides like I"m driving on air. And so quiet that I can actually enjoy the radio. Guess I might have to make a seperate post and tell you about it as some might be curious about this vehicle. It can also two up to 4500 pounds if I want, not that I will, but..

So I think this week of crazy unexpected things happening is over I hope. Sent the darn cell phone back that I can't use cause it makes my hearing aids buzz so bad I can hear on it, furnace is running along nicely, smoke alarms all have new or fairly new batteries, Lawn tractor is up and running although I need to lube and grease some of the stuff yet etc., so I guess I am ready to head back to work and make some green

Echo, sorry to hear that you job is beating the heck out of your body. Once you get that piece of paper with the numbers on it, all that might disappear  But I know how you feel, as when my second boss at the park where I work started, he had us cleaning up the place in areas where it probalby hadn't been done in years and let me tell you, we worked and worked and our bodies were saying enough, but we got the job done and then as time went on it was much easier. And paid off too in the zumpteen millions of compliments we have gotten over the years about the park. And even now in the spring, the hard physical work is demanding until we get it done. Cleaning up leaves, picking up limbs and branches etc. is tough on backs especially getting the wet sandy ones along the beach breakwalls  With the new supervisor this year, we already have a work list a mile long. So hang in there lady, you are making it slow but sure. But if you wind up having to look for another job in the same park or whatever, none of us will fault that as you have certainly given it the old college try and we are all rooting for you no matter what :)

This is not getting me on the road here, so i am going to shut off my fingers and put them to work on the vac, get some stuff put in the Flex, and hit the road. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Getting the house straighten up just a little because my step sister from NYC flew into town for the weekend. She stayed in a "visitors" apt at the assisted living complex last night and will again tonight but will come up and stay Sunday afternoon and night here. Got a first paycheck yesterday and need to get to the bank to put @ 1000 Alaska driving miles into the bank. This past weeks pay will go together with next week's earned "miles." :D :D

Hope everyone has a good Easter weekend.

Good morning !! Hope everyone has some nice plans for this beautiful week end. At least it sure is here, no more rain predicted for seveal days. First on my agenda when the dew dries is mow AGAIN. Guess you can tell its really what I want to do  Have put it off for a couple of days. My yard needs quite a lot of work done, which it won't be getting this year. I decided no need to try to push back the foliage and prune as I always do in the spring, as it will just grow back while I'm gone. And the young man I have hired to mow, I'm sure will only mow . So would be a waste of time and that I don't have much of, :D

Maggie and I, left early yesterday morning and did several errands. What a beautiful drive into town. Spring is truley here and its lovely. We had a good time, I picked up some groceries and should have turned on the frig,. to keep them so we could have gone to the park and had a good walk. But my mind hasn't been on to much playing lately, so didn't think ahead, I'm bad. My car is still in Co., so have to drive my new r.v :D which is a real hardship you know , NOT. It drives like a dream and I love it more and more each day . Only problem is when we get in, we don't want to do errands, we want to head out somewhere :D and not have to come back.

Hope you all have a lovely week end. I'll probably do the same stuff here, but time is flying, I see a wonderful summer in the future, so the days are not all that bad here .
Take care all, Those traveling , wishing you safe journeys,
CArol :)

Promising sunny day. I have been reading my manual for my new motorhome, and am learning quite a few very helpful things. I don't think I remember a thing from that walkaround at the dealers!!

Off to pick up the dozen cranberry bagals I ordered. Einsteins usually does not keep enough of my favorites, but I have learned to call ahead and they will be ready--fresh and hot. Should last me at least three weeks of weekends.

Today is also car cleaning day to get the inside of my minivan ready for sale in a few weeks. Winter left dirty carpeting, and I have never really detailed the inside since I bought it three years ago. Got the back part filled with stuff to take down to RV, but that part never gets dirty. Also, I am still deciding what to take and what goes into storage. I bought a soft plastic accordian folder and labeled the sections. Put some envelopes, stamps, labels for postcards and return labels inside, etc. plus reservation confirmations. Eventually I will need to pack up a small bin of legal stuff to take and another to leave with my son. Decided on a hiding place for important stuff like extra credit card and passport, also.

I sorted out maps and tourbooks to take and those to put aside for when I come back in November to see doctors and dentists--planning travels in two halfs is better than taking everythign with me the whole time!!

So much to plan and organize efficiently!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

From the sounds of things I think most have gotten bit by the Spring Fever Bug!!!  Ya'll are doing lots of cleaning, running around in the sun and getting major hitch itch! :D

Gads it was chilly last night and this morning? Brrrrrrrr! We plugged in the heater and turned it on last night. With the crappy way this one works anymore it didn't make it warm in here but at least it took some of the biggest chill off in here. We will have to get a newer bigger one before winter hits again. And I told Kelly that I already know where my income tax return in February will be going. She just looked at me and didn't even ask. But the truck will need new tires for sure. Gonna check with David and see what he might be able to line up for me. He has a lot of contacts in the ? auto hobby/needs area.

Had over 20k guests to the park yesterday, enough for them to extend the park hours. I know that we were sure busy. The guy doing the dishes last night had to change out the sanitizer bucket. We were using the extra one to prop open the kitchen door. It's against the health rules but having the door propped open sure does provide good air exchange and helps keep the temp in the kitchen down. Well with that door closed the kitchen got hotter than hot. I got so over heated that I told the PIC that I had to go out and cool off as I was getting sick to my stomach. It's against the health and safety rules to have the door propped open but jeeze!!! What about the health and safety of the kitchen employees??? And it's not even summer yet. I can not even begin to imagine what it's gonna be like in there this summer when it's even hotter and busier!

Have to be at work at 1pm then have Easter Sunday off as the park is closed. YAY! Then I work Monday, park is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday is my day off. More YAY!!! Just maybe my poor old body will lose a few of it's aches and pains?

OK, off to read and catch up. Hope ya'll have a super great day at whatever it is your gonna be doing. Be sure to have fun in the sun and stay safe.

Love to all

Good morning all. Gosh Echo, I hate to see the park so busy this early! I want to come up after I get back from Tenn gtg, and before school is out. All the times I've been there, Ive never been to Dollywood! Been to the waterpark. Want to do that and go to the Titanic exhibit for I had a great grandfather aboard. He did not survive. Woke up this morning with really sore back. The kind where you have to lay down and pull your clothes on! A little better now. Everyone have a really really good day! Wendy

Well Judy...when I used bartend at the local watering hole for our friends, if I had to close on a Saturday night Doug would always tell me to take the cash box home with me. It often had a huge amount of cash. I used to hide it under the clothes in the hamper. My reasoning? Well I may be sexist but I figured most burgulars are men....and I've never seen one yet that could find a clothes hamper. ;)

Not much going on here today. Cleaning and cooking for Easter. Wish I was sitting in the 5er at some campground.

 When I was raising teenaged boys, I couldn't keep ice cream or cookies in the house. My hiding place was in the basement freezer underneath all the meat and vegetables that required cooking!

Stuff was perfectly safe there!

good morning
spent my morning with a cup of coffee and a movie. 127 Hours, true story about a guy who hiked the canyons and climbed mountains.
He went off on one of his weekend canyon hikes (Utah I believe) and got stuck under a boulder when it moved pinning his arm. He was
by himself and had never told anybody where he was going. He used his video camera to tape stuff until the batteries were gone and
I won't spoil how it all turned out just in case somebody wants to watch it. It was a movie worth watching and the big lesson is to never
go hiking without telling SOMEBODY where your going.
Just a little more laundry today for me and it will all be done. Got my WII hooked up and played on that this morning too. I'm still trying
to figure out how some of it works but the part I did do was fun. Its the WII FIT PLUS and of course it tells me I'm off balance but we
will try to correct that in time. The soccer one was fun, made me laugh cause you have to hit the ball with your head but my brain kept
telling me to duck. Cracked me up.
Enjoy your day ladies, hope you all have great weather.

I saw a documentary on that - maybe before the movie - or maybe that movie is what I saw - a couple years ago on Discovery, I though. Was really interesting. He also did some things he shouldn't and admited it in the show I watched. Course, don't we all? No one to tell where I'm going most of the time - but I do when I can.

Sitting still today at Lake Holloman. Woke up to it pretty windy - seems to be dying down now. But was staying regardless - that just made the decision an even better one :) Want to head to a historic NM state park tomorrow - hoping I'll get there after all the weekenders leave.

Also wanted to say RIP Thomas Kinkade- great artist - died way too young yesterday at 54 years.

We got the calves wormed this morning without too much cussing. At least the 2 that got away weren't my son and my fault. It isn't such a big deal if the DH messes up. ;) I'm just afraid they are going to kill my gold fish again. I know that's what killed them a couple of years ago, the cows drinking after they were wormed.

I was looking on line the other day for a new electric cord for my motorhome and saw some of the plastic carriers that my front curtain has to keep it on the track. I ordered some and fixed the broken ones this morning. Is there anything you can't find on the internet. :)

I don't know what I'm going to do this afternoon. I need to clean house and work on my taxes but I don't want to do that. Better make sure I'm not missing anything for dinner tomorrow.

Judy, I don't know how your manuals came with your new motorhome. The ones for my first 3 came in a big envelope. The one I have now has a big 3 ring binder with all the information. It really makes it easier to find things. I put some page protectors in and if I get any equipment with a manual I put it in there too. I also have a sheet of notebook paper that I put the date and when I run the generator or check the water in the batteries. Also when things are fixed and tires are changed.

Pat, that's funny about hiding things in the clothes hamper. I'm not sure they could find something in the middle of the floor but that's where they leave things.

I received a sort of brief case with separate manuals for every system, and then there is a 1/2" spiral bound "quick reference" sort of book. That is the one I am going through now. The individual booklets look very complicated. I will go through them later.

The most complicated one is apparently for the radio/rear view camera. It has no dials, only a touch screen. We couldn't figure how to turn it off when we parked at my son's for the night. Left it on figuring it would turn off itself, which it did when we checked later. And it was off in the morning, luckily, so it hadn't turned itself on again. I think I am not going to listen to the radio for a while, just figure out how to use the back-up camera, which is much more important.

Maybe the booklet will tell me how to turn it off???
