Sedate Sunday

At least that's what I'm hoping we'll have!

Good morning, good morning!

Off to WallyWorld here in a bit for a few things. Nothing else on my schedule except some computer maintenance/back-up and going through some photos on our memory sticks. You know what that means . . . I may run across one or two I have to share! :P  ;)

Oh yeah, and continuing on with my Blogging from A to Z entries. Last night I pretty well wrapped up "A" and am about to move onward.

Friday's CPR class went well and I'm tickled to put IPPE on my CPR site as a corporate client!

Looking at 60s and 70s this coming week for weather. I'm getting the urge to dig in the dirt. Plenty of room for a "real" garden, but the terrain is not level, there is poor drainage in much of it and there are rocks. I'll probably stick with flowerbeds and pots.

So enjoy reading what everyone's up to and - whatever you're up to today, hope you are safe, laughing, loving and just having a whiz-bang time!

Later, gals . . .

Good morning Betty & everyone!

Betty, I hope you'll find some pictures you can share with us.

Did everyone remember to spring their clocks forward an hour last night?

It's hard to believe that most of the winter is behind us and we'll be leaving Ocala this coming Friday to start our trip in a northerly direction. We'll be stopping at Crooked River State Park to meet Lori & Ernie for a week before continuing our trip to MD. I can't wait to see them again.

The weather the past week has been quite breezy with lots of overcast skies, some rain showers, a few sprinkles here and there and every now and then we even see the sun. Temperatures are supposed to get back into the 80's in another day or so with more sun than clouds.

I received news this past week that my mother has lung cancer in hr right lung and will be seeing a doctor in Annapolis this Friday to see what her options are. The cancer was caught early and hasn't spread, so I'm hoping that with some radiation treatments, the cells will shrink and leave her alone. My father has had a couple mini strokes in the past couple weeks and been hospitalized, so I have a feeling we're going to have a busy summer.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning, ladies.
Irmi - So sorry to hear your parents are having such health problems and sending prayers for them and you.
I've been in bed/bathroom since Thursday night; one of those nasty intestinal bugs attacks that make you pretty sure you have to get better to die. I seem to be a bit better today and if I can keep anything down thru the morning will go check on Magic later today.
Rain moving back in here tonight. Think I'll go ahead and pay for month at campground where Magic is parked. Want to get things better arranged and at least a few nights there with Nicky for practice.
Hope you have some fun things in your day.

Good morning Everyone !! Sun is out here, but i am still chilly. Think I have Fl. blood :P it was sure nice this winter down there.

Irmi, I am so sorry your parents are having all of these issues. The older years are certainly not golden for them and i am so sorry. Glad for you that you all have had this winter for yourselves. You all are in my prayers.

Wow, Sarah, I know just what you're talking about, had a dose of that at my sisters, not fun !!! Hope you're feeling much better before this day is done. I liked the CG where you have Magic, so will be nice for you to spend some time in her with Nicky. He'll like it, Maggie said so :D

Bought a sign to put in window of my old r.v.., be nice if the fella who was here for Directv, a couple of months ago and wanted to buy, would see it is now for sale. He and his family camp alot and think they would really like. He asked then, I said no, to bad we don't know what is coming in our future, should have sold it on the spot. Young family too, it would make me happy for them to have it, not just to sell, but because they would get a lot of use out of it around here all summer and more. makes for a happy thought for me.

I am still sorting out the serious mail now, can only take short spells of it, down to entering all in my checkbook now and seeing what my real total is and if I agree with the bank :o :? Tempted to just take their word for it, but to many yrs. of wanting the totals to be exact, so will keep on chugging along, totally against my will, rather play games on the puter.

Work really turns me off anymore, think I am regressing already :o  But have to keep going, !st of May will be here real soon, I hope.

Have a great day ladies, enjoy yourselves, but keep safe and those on the roads, hope you are where there is no rain and enjoying the scenery totally.

CArol :)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Ugh, it's morning. Went to bed last night at about 12:30am so got up at 7:30am. And that is the actual time for me too as AZ does not do the stupid time change thing in the Spring and Fall. Now to just try and remember that UT is an hours ahead of us. ~sigh~ Dang laptop was off and hour so now it's telling me that it's 11:09am. LOL Could get real screwed up here not knowing what time it is if I'm not careful. Either be 2hrs early or 2hrs late for something!!! My Mom would laugh her butt off at that! ;)

Our neighbor Don came over and worked on the wiring for the lights yesterday. I at least have tail lights and break lights on the trailer but only one turn signal. It would be OK and I would get home eventually but sure would take some extra time, travel and gas money to get there only making left hand turns. Talk about going around the "block". He is gonna come back over today to see if he can get them straightened out. :D He is 78yrs old and a sweetie. He's also a work alcoholic too. He keeps talking about needing to slow down but told him if he slows down or quits working at whatever he does he'll probably croak!! He laughs and says, "Well then I guess I would then be giving the devil a run for his money"!!

Nothing much planned for today. Get the lights fixed and just maybe I'll finally make it to the laundry mat, And maybe a little more sorting out, tossing and cleaning in there too.

OK, off to read posts and see what's going on with everyone. Hope you all have a great day whether your sitting or traveling. Just be sure to do it all safely.

Love to all

Irmi,

I am so very sorry to hear about your folks. I know how tough - and yet filled with sweet moments - it is when the roles reverse and we become the "parents" and/or caregivers. My dad had a couple of major strokes and various mini strokes over the period of several years; my mom had a form of leukemia and then early/middle Alzheimer's. I'm an only, so was obviously very involved with their care. Again, difficult times but precious memories, too. I wish you strength and patience for the difficult moments and beautiful memories to carry with you.

Peace, strength, love and light ~

I made my Walmart run yesterday so won't do much today. One of my cats must have missed me, she has turned into a lap cat since I have been back.

It's windy today. I thought I left the wind in Texas. There is rain to the West and we could have bad weather later today according to the Weather Channel. We had 3 inches of rain on Friday and a chance of rain for the next week. It is really greening up here. I didn't check the Pecan tree to see what he says. The old timers say that if the Pecan trees bud out that we won't have anymore freezes. I saw farmers planting cotton on my way home. Here the rice farmers usually wait until Good Friday and later to plant rice.

Carol, I'm not good about balancing the checking account but look at it to make sure nothing looks strange. A couple of months ago I noticed something to Walmart and Target in Austin, TX. Since I have never been to Austin I checked it out at the bank. They said it was electronic charges like someone ordered something on line. I know that wasn't us so they credited it back to us. I never did find out anything about it. I have heard about funny business with checking accounts and Walmart before. It has to be someone at Walmart giving out checking account numbers. I use to only give them cash but since everything has gone up I had started giving checks because I didn't want to carry that much cash. Now I use my credit card at Walmart.

Irmi, I'm sorry to hear your parents are having more health problems.

Martha

Good morning everybody, well it should be morning. I like this time much better after the first few days of adjusting. Irmi, I hate to hear about people growing older and things that go along with it. I too am glad you are taking some time for yourselves. Carol, it occured to me maybe you can call Direct tv and see if they can trace back who it was that came to your house. it would be so nice for a nice young family to get your old rv. Thats the way I feel about selling my house if I ever do(to get another one), want someone else to raise their family and make memories in it. Sarah, which cg is that? I am reading Love You More, by Lisa Gardner, if any of you are familar with her. Once I start a book I'm not good for anything else! So there goes my day! Rest of you, find something fun to do today!Wendy

I went in to work this morning at 10 and got sent home at 11:30 because it was slow and there were too many of us scheduled. I was more than happy to get another day off since I have been working 6 days a week for awhile now. I got a lot done around here yesterday so I want to take it easy and do something fun today.

I replaced my window screen yesterday with pet-proof screening material so Lola is not happy right now, not being able to go in and out thru the window anymore.

A lot cooler here today than the past several days. It has been in the 80's but today will only be 61. It will actually be warmer in Minneapolis today and thru the week, than here!

Hope you all have a good day today where ever you are!

Pretty sedate around here too today! Waiting for the GD to be returned home by her mom...any time now. She spends Sunday's from noon till dinnertime with her mother. Yesterday she and I went to the hippodrome theater in Baltimore to see the Addams Family. It was really good. #2 son bought me tickets for my birthday a while back. Glad we went to the matinee cause we ended up taking the 'scenic' route back thru the city on the way home. Yes, I'm directionally challenged and don't really know my way around Baltimore. And I'd just as soon keep it that way! I'm a country driver for sure!

Betty, I love the old pics you posted! What wonderful memories! We traveled a lot when I was a kid, but my dad was civil service so we were in Germany, Okinawa, and not in an rv. However, after all us kids were grown and out of the house, my folks bought a pop up that they towed with a pacer! They used it a couple of times, then upgraded to a VW bus camper! Kept that till the engine caught on fire on day! That was the end of their camping! Ex and I used to do a lot of tent camping when our kids were little...it was the only way we could afford vacations! I lived it, but am no so very grateful for an rv, with a real bed, and a real bathroom, and all the other conveniences! Too old for those tents!

Irmi, I'm so sorry to hear about your folks! Will keep all of you in my prayers!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm anxious to meet Liz's new to her rv as soon as she gets it!

Echo, are you still planning on hitting the road tomorrow, or I guess as soon as you get both turn signals working? God speed to you in your travels home!

In a couple of weeks I'll be taking FRed out for our first little trip of the season. We aren't going far, just up the road to Elk Neck State Park. But I need to evaluate bailey to see if she is going to be able to travel with me this summer or not. For some reason, the steps in and out of the rv bother her much more than the steps in and out of the house. It will also be the first trip out with the kitten and the old man cat to see if they will be traveling with me this summer too! I sure hope all goes well, because I don't know what other arrangements I will be able to make for any of them. Don't even want to think about it.

Well, i Hope everyone has an awesome day doing whatever.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON TO ALL!

Finally the internet is back on here! Friday evening we had some storms come through, knocked power out, so the kids and I played cribbage using my Honda generator for power to run a light and the radio. However, the internet has been out since Friday night until now.

Goog got the lawn mowed yesterday, we went shopping at Home Depot for some stuff they needed and to get me another long-life 18 volt rechargeable battery for my chain saw. I discovered that one battery costs 90 bucks, and an entire kit with chainsaw, battery, recharger, chain oil and a manual costs 110 bucks----what's up with that??? So now I am the proud owner of two cordless chainsaws and plenty of batteries and rechargers! I am leaving one saw here (the older one of them) for the kids to use on the property, and I will take the other back home to the north country with me after I trim my trees in the Orlando home down here. I also bought a file to sharpen the chain teeth.

It has been raining since early last night....loong, slow, sometimes hard rains.....which is just what this area needs desperately. I am hoping my home in Orlando is getting the same.

It's very cool out here in the wind on this porch, so this will be fast. I hope all those on the roads will drive very carefully and that those of you still getting together can find some rainy-day activities to keep you occupied and comfy. I guess TX is getting pretty much the same that we are getting here.

Did you all remember to set your clocks ahead? I didn't, and hate to do it----maybe I won't My clock in the truck will be correct again as I never set it back in the fall. Changing and messing with time has never been a good thing for me....I am messed up time-wise enough without throwing that into the mix!

Off I go to view some wedding pictures the kids took in Costa Rica of their wedding----they finally got them all back from the hired photographer, and put them into some semblance of order.....can't wait to see them!

Irmi and Kath, it seems impossible that the time has gone so fast down here in FL this winter, eh? So sorry to hear the news about your parents, Irmi. It does indeed sound like a busy summer for you.

Sorry to hear Sarah has been sick with what it sounded like Beth has had in TX. I hate the whoops and poops, as my neighbor used to term it!

Carol I have tried French tost without eggs myself while camping, and ACK is all I can say about that!! But your gkids will be happy that you at least tried!

All the rest of you seem to have a ton of stuff to do to get ready for spring. I am seeing nothing from Sue on either forum today, so am wondering if she has lost internet connection as we did here.

Happy ...day, which is Sunday without the sun, to many of us today!

No ice cream social tonight... not sure why... we had rain and mist most of the day...
Liz, keep your good spirits up and heal as Lenora said both physically and spiritually... you gave Simba all you had and it would have been awful traveling with a dog that is anxious... God bless you dear lady...
