It's Friday!

Good Morning sleepheads,

Looks like everybody's sleepiing in. Well, except for those who are still heading into work to make a paycheck. And for them it's Friday. End of a work week supposedly unless you work on the weekends.

I'm just checking in here. Heading off to the gym in a short here. Then some business to take care of while up in town and back home again. It's a cold blustery day here, so will be pretty much staying inside for the most part other than taking the dogs for a short walk. Few snowflakes around out there too. When I went to bed last night we were under a Lake Effect Snow advisory for 2-6 inches of snow. When I woke up this morning, we have less than an inch and the advisories have blown away with the wind. So much for that. Warming up again starting tomorrow and into next week again. Will enjoy that.

Got a call from my boss at the park yesterday. Asked me to come pick up my paperwork next week, so that means work isn't far off. Will be nice to be making some green again.

Hope all of you who are on the road, heading home or to other spots from the TX GTG are having good weather to drive. If not, please be careful. Wishing everyone else a nice day.

Have to work today, then home to pack and pull out tomorrow for my 650 mile trip. Unfortunately, it's now supposed to rain through most of the weekend. And then the weather forecast at Caprock Canyons shows rain supposed to start again around Thursday. DBF probably isn't going to go because of work and money issues. I told him if he went, we could start back Thursday so he could be back for work on the weekend... which if it rains, he probably wouldn't be working anyway. His job is weather dependent and he works mostly weekends when his customers aren't. I don't think he's going to go though even though the trip wouldn't cost him anything. I mean, I have to buy gas whether he goes or not. I have enough food in the freezer. I think he just doesn't want to go. If he doesn't, he gets the dogs. I can handle them by myself, it's just more difficult for me to handle both of them all the time by myself. I have almost 200 pounds of dog.

Pack some warm clothes. I think it will be pretty chilly up there. You might need to take one dog for warmth

And I will need to pack shorts because by Weds, it's supposed to be in the 80's :o If I thought I could get away with taking one dog, I would do it but somehow I think I would be shunned by the other.

Hope you have a great trip, Maggie, and that the weather cooperates for you.

It's a cold blustery day here at Goliad, with more rain predicted over the weekend. But that's ok, because we're not going far until Monday. We'll move the rigs tomorrow to a nearby cg, then travel to Houston on Monday for a walk-through and hopefully closing on my new-to-me RV. Then back to cg to transfer "stuff." Seems like between Birdie and me, we've been doing a lot of that transferring stuff. But it's all for a good cause.

Hope things warm up for you soon, Sue, and you can get back to work at the State Park.

I have written to the Pet Rescue place where I adopted Simba, and regretfully explained to them that was going to have to return him there. His extreme separation anxiety has not improved in spite of my earnest efforts, and has been made even worse with all the recent changes in his environment. He also gets carsick....probably also related to his anxiety. She took it well and agreed that Simba would be better suited for a permanent home that doesn't move, with a retired person or couple that don't have to leave him often. She said she would work with him toward a successful placement. I know it will be upsetting to Simba and me too, but will be for the best in the long run.

I'm still waiting to hear from my insurance adjuster on the appraisal....hopefully will get word today.

Hope everyone out there is safe and warm and away from all the dangerous weather.

Good morning all, Liz I'm so glad you found a rig and keeping fingers crossed the insurance will come quickly and the walk through goes well. I think you made the best decision for both you and Simba to return him, sometimes it just isn't a good match and it's hard to know until you try.

Rib area will be sore for awhile. I will likely do a follow-up visit to my family dr. back in FL when I get there, just to make sure everything is healing properly. Thanks for asking.

I probably will not hear any more about the woman who hit me, due to privacy laws, etc. Hopefully she will make a full recovery in time.

shouldn't have bragged about beautiful day yesterday. Today just kind of gray and cool, altho once in awhile lookks like sun trying to peek thru. Someone said on ORS that they are seeming to have one nice day and then a string of yucky ones, same here. Liz, I know you probably have mixed feelings about giving up Simba, but know they'll find him a good fit like they said. As usual, there are things I could do today, but don't really want to clean the downstairs carpet! Off to the library, seems like a good thing to do. Everyone HAVE FUN today! Wendy

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Weather outside is good today. Warm but windy. Got to run to town to pick up some wire to get the lights wired on the trailer and hopefully that will be it!!! At least I should have tail lights and turn signals. I really want to pull out Monday but will probably wait until Tuesday so that I can drag my trashcan to the road edge myself. One of my neighbors will drag it back to this spot. Will pay the utility bill on the way out of town and tell them to shut it off too. Will only have one tiny last bill then and will get the deposit back too.

Liz, so glad that you will have a home of your own real soon. Will keep that in mind while saying a prayer for you all, fur-kids included.

OK, off here to get errands done! Hope everyone has a extra good day and hope everyone has a safe day.

Love to all

Good luck to you, Liz. I hope everything goes smoothly, Monday. And I'm sorry to hear about Simba. Also, have you heard anything about Bandit?

No word on Bandit. I hate to leave the area without him, but will come right back if he is found. That would be a very happy day, but unfortunately I am not optimistic.

My heart aches for you, Liz. Sorry about both your furbabies.
Praying you can get yourself settled soon so you can heal physically and spiritually.
Hugs

Colliemom: While it is Friday for you, here in Tongduchon, S. Korea, it is already Saturday. I am going to Camp Casey this morning to have my taxes done. The good thing about working for the U.S. Army is that they will do it for free, no hefty sum for the CPA. While I have been whinning how cold it is over here compared to San Tan Valley, Arizona, where you are at it is even worth weatherwise. Hang in there, Spring is really just around the corner.

Liz: I am so truly sorry for all the losses that you have experienced in the last few weeks. I know that the one that is hitting you the hardest is not finding Bandit as yet and having decided to part with Simba. It sounds that the shelter will find a home for Simba.
Congratulations on purchasing your new rig. I think I am and every other friend on this site is following your adventure and want to see your new home.

Thank you so very much to allow. I truly enjoy being part of this forum. You are all an amzing bunch. Tatjana
