It's Friday! Whew! We made it!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Friday! Whew! We made it!

Postby Cedar518 » Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:04 am

The coffee is ready, come on in! I have put out some choc chip squares to munch on too, and also some bananas and bagels,... pull up a chair!

I'm leaving school at noon again today as we'll be hitching and making a run northwest to the St.Lawrence River and Coles Creek State Campground. I'll grab some wifi in the next town near the campground and hopefully be able to post some pics before we come home on Monday. My friend Kathy and her "girls" the little poodles, Mitzi and Ginger will be along. Also my neice and her husband will be there and my former SIL and her husband. We're not traveling together, but have discovered we're all going there this weekend.

Time to head out the door,....

Goooood Morning!!!!

Oh my goodness I slept late this morning and taking Shade out got me to posting even later. Good thing Cedar jumped into the breach here. :D

Yeppers it's Friday! YAY! Kelly and I are so excited to be going to Pigeon Forge this weekend. Got some housework to do first and need to group up some stuff and we are gone. Wont be back home again until Sunday evening sometime. David and Jenny are all set to 'babysit' the furbabies. His baby girl is gonna wonder what the heck is going on, cause it's usually Nana and Aunty Kelly home on the weekends. David and Jenny usually go to up to her Mom's in VA on the weekends. I can't believe how badly on edge I feel at the thought of leaving Shade home all weekend! :o It will be only the second time I've done it since I got her as a pup. Can we say separation anxiety??? Poor Mom! :?

Stopped to get a few groceries last eve. And the one thing Kelly had to get was batteries for her camera. So just maybe we will have some pictures to post when we get home? She's the camera and picture person in the family. I've got her old digital camera but haven't used it in about forever. I've never been one to take a lot of pictures. So it's now her job and she is the one to rely on. LOL A little bit of the groceries we will be taking with us. Got a 12pk of Pepsi, some cheese and crackers but still need to pick up pepperoni, chips and dip. Ya'll need to be sure the beer at the campfire is kept cold as I might want a few this weekend!!!

Ok, gonna do a little reading here and maybe post? But do need to get the old butt in gear, get things done and head out the door. WOOOHOOO

Hope ya'll have a great day, an even better weekend and please be safe in whatever ya do.

Love to all

yep, its morning and the coffee is soooooooo good this morning.
Not sure what I'm going to do today, nothing special thats going
to cost me any money cause I don't have any
I called my electric company yesterday to find out my application
for the "time of use" plan started so now I have to be mindful of
when I do the extra things like laundry, vacuaming, carpet shampooing,
etc. The electricity is cheaper during off peak hours, and those hours
vary certain times of the year. For now, electricity is cheaper on the
weakends and after 8pm. (1pm to 8 pm is high peak) Does your elect.
company offer a plan like this? Starting nov 1 the high peak time
slots change to 5 to 9 morning and evening but will still be cheaper
on the weekends. Gonna have to get used to doing EVERYTHING only
on the weekends.
Have a good day and be safe

My electric company never offered anything like that - sounds like a great idea. My electric is metered at this campground so I keep an eye on it and try to stay within a certain amount each month. Thank heavens its cooled off at night so I don't have to run the AC and its staying cooler longer during the day, too.

I got an offer of a job from a KOA in Medford Oregon but its just too far to travel with the price of gas. Still hoping to hear from the CGs near Cloudcroft, New Mexico. I would really love to get a job without any office work. I want Sparkle's job of sitting under a tree by the lake selling firewood. I think I could handle that.

Echo, hope you guys have a great camping trip. You really deserve some kick-back time.

My RV guy came yesterday, pulled my window, put new stuff on it, put it back in and caulked it. When the caulk cures 24 hours I'll turn the hose on it and see if it leaks. Thought we'd try this before ordering completely new windows.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Last night a fairly decent RV park in Willcox, AZ - Ft. Willcox. Tonight most likely a site in Mountainair, New Mexico (a little south of Albuquerque) to meet up with a friend. So glad I renewed my Passport America membership yesterday as it's half paid for itself already. I've had some very supportive emails from several friends about the Amazon job situation, so will just play it day by day.

Time to go take a shower and then nuke the two very fresh, light green eggs I bought here last night--the last they had from their on-site chickens. I almost decided to workamp here over the winter instead of Amazon...perhaps next year.

Good morning. I have coffee in hand, wishing I baked banana bread yesterday like I've been wanting to. I've been thinking lately about baking bread. It has become SO expensive, and I love the tactile kneading, the smell of yeast, and, oh yes -- the smell of bread baking. Then there's the EATING. Yesssssss. I've just been to the bakery and have two large loaves to eat. But after that ....

I've packed the Escape Capsule off to the shop to get winterized and to have my little boo-boos fixed. When it comes home, I'll put on its new winter coat on for the duration. We're expecting a big snow storm here over the weekend ... so maybe I'll break out my snow shoes and go up the canyon. I love the floating feeling of shoeing over fresh-fallen snow.

Morning! I'm sipping a cup of butter toffee coffee and catching up on the board. I have five days away from work! Yesterday one of my friends had to go to the dentist in Sioux Falls about 100 miles away so two of us accompanied her. Had a great day...lunch at Applebees..a little shopping. But the highlight of the day was going to the wholesale florist warehouse with Missy to pick up all her supplies for Christmas. Faye and I have worked in florist shops too so we were like kids in a candy store. I have my pile of silks on my dining room table waiting for a girls evening get-together where we'll make a new arrangement for my living room and redesign the swag over the steps. Can't wait! Picked up a bundle of eucalyptus and it is so fresh...the smell is wonderful! Just love it...I must have been a koala bear in a previous life. We're planning a weekend at the "shop" helping Missy decorate it inside and out for Christmas. Today I have to go to the courthouse to pay property taxes and take Radar to the vet for booster shots. Better go take a shower and get crackin...sure envy Echo and Cedar your camping weekends! Looking forward to pictures from both of you! I bought five gallons of RV antifreeze yesterday...that's always depressing...means that we're done for the year.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Yep, one of the last motels I managed, we were on an electric plan that saved us money if we could manage our electric use. Cost less during some hours than others. Great if you can work within those timelines.

Is just a couple minutes afternoon here - so I didn't quite get here for the morning. So glad some are getting out up north for a last weekend. Love that you can do that.

Peaches and I got up about 7:30 and went and walked our beach. That is a wonderful start for my day when I can do it. The water always gives me a calm, almost sedated feeling. Came back and I was about to come on here and got texted to ask if I'd had breakfast yet. So, jumped in the shower and out the door I went - down the beach again, this time in a golf cart, to a restaurant where we could sit outside and eat and still be watching the water. Yeah, I'm now really sedated - food and the calming effects of the water.

Going to be a lazy kind of day. Then going out tonight - to dinner and some music. Should be fun. Last night when I was going to come in and get online, I was invited to a fish fry - so, off I went. Ate some great fish - then a few of us changed clothes and relaxed in the hot tub. Came home and headed to bed while I was so relaxed.

Oh, and yesterday I spent 3-4 hours taking my scooter all around town. I was a guy magnet at the marina, LOL - seriously - they were dropping out of the sky to talk to me - not sure why - but it was funny and I just went to the marina to enjoy the time by the water. Unfortunately, I forgot to pack my camera - and wow, I could have got some neat pics. One turtle was swimming at the surface - was like he was telling me - haha - I'm gonna pose cuz you didn't bring anything to take a picture of me with.

Can you tell I'm really enjoying my days off. And this is the most wonderful season here - most of the summer people are gone, most of the winter people have yet to arrive. No crowds anywhere.

Okies, off to take Peaches to see where one of the couple have moved (they had to change sites to stay the winter - and they are some of Peaches favorite people, so I figure I'll be nice and show her they're still here).

Have a great day one and all. Can't wait for the gtg - anyone who can get near - still time to join us :)

Not sure what time it is here - clock says 10:33, but I'm now in New Mexico and get confused since they're in a different time zone and Arizona doesn't do DST--guess I'll check. Am going to try to make it to Manzana State Park up near Mountainair this afternoon for a couple of days. So, a lot more driving to do. Better hit the road. Have a great day, all of you.
