A Cheery Good Morning to you all,
Is is Saturday already? Seems like it was just New Years day and now we have a whole week of January off the calendar. Where has it gone? Course in my case, it was a big snowstorm that required part of two mornings to get cleaned up behind, two days of exercise classes at the gym, some shopping and a trip north to Indian River for an afternoon etc. etc....... I think with heading to the gym three days a week, doing shopping and what have you, cleaning the house periodically, walking the dogs, doing some leisure stuff once in awhile etc., my winter is going to fly. Also helps that we are having a very mild winter too.
Had qute a thaw yesterday as temps wenit into the low to upper 40's and even some low 50's across the state. The 9-12 inches of snow we had on Monday has gone down to bare ground in some places or maybe 6 inches in others. Yesterday when I was walking the dogs at Otsego, there was a lot of bare ground showing in the park. And I know that about 25 miles west of me and probably the same said for all directions actually, there is no snow to be had.. We did get a little dusting last night, which is good, cause it's icy out on the road etc, from the melting yesterday, so that will make it a bit easier to walk out there. And it dusted all the tree branches, so it's pretty out there.
Had a good workout at the gym yesterday. A lot of aerobic moves and stretches. Intense, but fun. The lady who conducts these classes is so much fun. There's a very large group of ladies at every class. All ages, sizes and abilities. I can feel my tummy muscles starting to pull in. Won't notice any big difference till after a few weeks of it. I'm thinking of getting one of those stretch resistance cords to use at home here when there isn't a class for weather related reasons or whatever. Some of those exercises, I can do here.
Not sure what I'm doing to day. Think I might head south, down to the Cross country shop. It's about 35 miles or so. Want to check out some things and look at ski sets down there. They are having all kinds of ski stuff going on this month in Michigan and today this particular shop is doing beginning lessons etc., I'm not going to try anything today and being I have used them before, I am not really a beginner, just need a refreasher. But after this big thaw, they may not have enough or even any snow to bother with down there. So I will go look. The of course the 'girls" are going to want their walk. They have been pretty busy these past couple of days with wallking in two state parks, well i walk, they are all over the place, so this morning, they are sleeping in.
Starting tomorrow the GTG gathering is starting. Sounds like enough bail money is on hand, food menus are planned out, shopping probably going on today, plans made for routes to get there etc. Let the fun begin. Have a wonderful time, those of you who are going to be there. But mind you, the rest of us are going to be watching, so behave yourselves, within reason of course
