Yoo Hoo, rise and shine everyone, time go start another day,

Everybody sleep good last night? I had one doggie potty call about 1:30 a.m. but that was all. Don't remember anythng before or after that till I woke up around 7 this morning.

Watched an interesting program called "2012: Countdown to Armageddon" on National Geographic last night. I was about the Mayans, how they studied weather and climate changes so so forth and why they think the world is coming to an end on December 21, 2012. The Winter Solstice. Very interesting. It's all related to sudden and dramatic climate changes over the entire earth, like here today, gone tomorrow. So I guess maybe we should just all quit working, play next year and enjoy our last year on this earth

Right now the only thing I am going to worry about is the couple of inches of snow we got yesterday and last night and whether or not I am going to haul out a blower or forget about it. It's very wet snow and temps are above freezing so it will probably settle. But there is more snow coming on Sunday into Monday and this time it looks like we are going to get dumped on good. Lake effect. Will depend on the winds as to who really gets a good dumping and who doesn't. But 3-6 or more is in the forecast. Looks like Old Man Winter is finally getting around to paying us a visit.

Lenora, I love the new look. Wouldn't have even recognized you if you hadn't said you changed the pic. Really nice.

Soos, those sunset pics were beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I can see why you love your FL house so much.

Congrats to those of you who will be sharing the new year with some new furry companions. Enjoy and have fun.

Well, time to be off around here. Have a great day, travel safe, play with your furkids, get out and enjoy the day, whatever moves you.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Next to last day of 2011 is what this is----this year was the fastest of all for me, so far. Somebody slow this thing down!

I'm glad I spoke to Pete last night about the directions to Wekiwa Falls State Park for the upcoming GTG. For some reason, Google had me traveling right past the entrance and around to the western side of the park. I think I never would have found my way in! It's only about 50, or so, miles from my trailer at St. Cloud, so that should be pretty easy. I made my route take no toll roads, as I hate them.

The doc has moved my intestinal scoping up to January 4th---this coming Wednesday, so I should be good to go for the GTG. Unless, of course, he punctures me in the process----oooops, I mean "procedure"! If he does, carry on y'all! And there will be another site available for the shindig. Between now and then, I will die a thousand painful deaths in my mind----that is how my mind works, sad to say. My New Year's drinks will be Colon Blow---how exciting is that!

Guess I should decide what I need the kids to bring from the trailer today for our big weekend at Sea World. I know I will need earplugs from there for the fireworks finale, and perhaps some more dog food from my bathtub for Molly. The park will stay open until 1:00 am New Year's Eve, with all kinds of neat things going on. I hope they have a ball drop!

Off I go to feed Molly and decide what to do for today. I hope you all find some fun things and that you take lots of pictures of them!

Good morning Sue, Soos & everyone!

Sue, enjoy your snow. It was certainly cold enough here in GA yesterday morning for snow, but the sun came out and we had temperatures in the mid 60's.

Soos, I hope the procedure next week will find out why you are feeling the way you are and fix you up quickly.

Today is the one week anniversary of my retirement and so far, life is good. Yesterday we went to LaGrange with our friends and had lunch at a place called Katie's Too. It's an all you can eat restaurant with lots of delicious homemade foods. Later in the evening I went with my friend to a quilt group meeting that meets at her church. What a nice bunch of women! I knew several of the ladies from my previous visits to GA so it was nice seeing them again.

I'm going to put a bowl of German potato salad together for lunch, so stop by if you have a chance.

Sue, I watched that NatGeo special; interesting to say the least. Have also been watching some of History channel series on Ancient Aliens. It is amazing how much the ancients seemed to know about astronomy.

Just as I thought that big black cloud that has followed me most of 2011 might have found a new home, it raised its ugly head again. Heavy rains early this week and my new roof leaked big time!!! Have spent what seems like endless hours on phone with insurance company and roofer with little progress so far. Waiting for a call back again as I type. It has been such a stressful year can't say I'm not going to be glad to get it over with and start a new one. There better be some truth to the old saying " that whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger". If so, I should have 2012 whipped.

Soos, thank you for those great photos yesterday. They have made me even more determined to get to FL next month.

Lenora, that is a great new photo you posted. I wouldn't have recognized you either.

Irma, the retirement thing just keeps on getting better so you have much more to look forward to with the new year.

I was reminded yesterday of the totally awesome power of music. Put some old tapes on to play while I was trying to clean between those endless phone calls. Surprising how much more one can accomplish working to the 1812 Overture or how many tears pop up when Willie Nelson sings Always on My Mind.

Good morning gals!
Lenora, I love the new hairstyle! You look much younger!

Just being lazy here until I have to get ready for work later. I have decided to spend my birthday, in three weeks, at Catalina Island! They have a birthday promotion going on and I get a free boatride over and back, plus almost 70% off on two nights at a motel (cottage with a kitchen) in Avalon, and a free round of miniature golf! It should be a fun 3 days there exploring the island. I want to take a tour of the inland areas and then rent a kayak to explore around the shores. Lots of shopping there too! Won't have a lot of extra money to spend but I can get a few things here and there. So I am very excited!

Also, rumor has it that I might be getting moved back to the other salon where I want to be. Will know more about that next week!

I also just joined 24 Hour Fitness club down the street. Need to get in better shape this next year. I plan to do the yoga and pilates classes and get on the resistance machines. Now that I am feeling better and it stopped raining, I plan to take my new bike out and ride it several times per week.

So lots to look forward to for the upcoming New Year!

Hope you all have a better year coming up! This last one has been challenging for a lot of you.

OK, so it's way past morning. But I'm on the road again (speaking of Willie) and I so love driving the MH. Like driving it much more than the car. Windy, but stayed on back roads, which meant wasn't going the speeds where the wind bothers me. Discovered that on the first of 2 stretches of roads with higher speed limits. Soon as I would get over 50, I'd feel the wind. Well, I like sightseeing - so back down to 50, stay off interstates, and happy me.

Last night Molly and I went out to eat to celebrate making it so long at Amazon - and because the food is so good. Just finished my leftovers. And to think, going out to eat Sunday again. Then need to start cooking again. Peaches and I will miss having Molly as our neighbor, and both of us will also miss that state park. It made for wonderful walks. Tonight we're in an rv park where people are crammed in - put not us, as we are in the middle of a section rarely used, I think. And Peaches didn't mind at all - all kinds of things for her to stop and smell. But she wouldn't want to be here a couple months, whereas that state park - she still loved it as much this morning as the day we got there.

Moving from the far west of the Eastern time zone into the eastern part of the Central time zone, is one reason I never could live in Huntsville or this part of the time zone - unless I lived on different hours than everyone else. The sun set 50 minutes earlier here (In TN tonight) than it did where I was in KY. I don't care about the extra 50 minutes in the morning - I hate losing it at night. By a week or so from now, when I get to where I'll be staying in TX, will gain that 50 minutes back :) Meantime, I think I'll try to live on "eastern" time - if I can make it Sunday to the dinner on time doing so - or does that mean I'll be an hour earlier than everyone else :)

Meantime, my body isn't sure whether it's day or night so probably will get to bed early tonight with my Nook. Either that or be up all night like I'm used to - hard switching sometimes.

Good Friday evening to all. I spent the day doing things to get ready to move on on Sunday. I cleaned the red
Georgia clay off the kayak and packed it away. Did a load of laundry....used the trips back and forth to help Simba practice not barking every time I leave the rv. Got a little separation anxiety going on. I've been rewarding him every time I come back and he's not barking. Took the rv to the dump station and took care of that so I won't have to do it in 30 degree weather Sunday morning. Then drove to Walmart to stock up on stuff. (note to self...don't go to WM on Friday before New Year's Eve). Simba pulled a "Bear" and jumped out of the rv in WM parking lot when I was trying to load groceries. Fortunately he didn't run away and let me pick him up. I'll have to watch out for that from now on.
Now we're all tired.

Your birthday plans sound really fun Barbie, seems like it wasn't that long ago you were planning a birthday outing. Time just goes by so fast! I I hope you get moved back to the salon you like better.
Simba sounds like he likes you Liz and is responding to your training. I'm so glad he didn't run away when he hopped out!
Sarah so sorry to hear about your roof it is so hard to find good roofers. I hope when the New Year starts a cloud with a silver lining replaces that black cloud that has followed you this year.
Was just thinking about Bikerchic we haven't heard from her in awhile. Hope all is going well for her.

Picked my cat up at the vet's this morning and stopped by Walmart. Just sat in the parking lot a minute and decided what I wanted could wait. Everyone that wasn't there yesterday was there today. Brought the cat home and went to Lafayette to pick up a chair that's going to my sister's. The traffic is as bad as before Christmas. I'm going to my sister's in the morning. She thinks there will be fireworks at the lake and wants to go up there. Looks like I will be camping with a cat again.

Martha, that's a heck of a way to bring in the New Year. Wish I could be there too. Have fun for all of us.
