A Cheery Good Morning everybody,
I'm sure you can tell by the title of this morning's thread, what I am going to be doing this morning. Just a fair warning to you that I'm up and at em and going to get busy in a bit here Am also hoping to start working on my Winter Welcome sign I want to make for outside the house. Will also take the dogs for their daily walk this afternoon. Are you tired yet?
I also have a pair of snowhoes advertised on Craigslist and a prospective buyer might come here today and look them over. Supposed to let me know if they are coming. If they do, and they do buy them, then I am going to look at a some cross country skis. Have been looking at prices etc., but like Soos says ACK! There is supposed to be a business around here that sells gently used sporting goods, but I havent been able to locate it and am trying to remember if it went out of business. Will keep searching. But there are also a few Cross Country ski shops here too, so....
Got home from town yesterday and had a call from my next door neighbor, the one whom I help out with this and that, cut her grass and blow her snow etc. Wanted to know if I wanted to go out to dinner last night. Sure, Why not. Actually, what it turned out to be was that she picked up two other neighbors and myself and met another couple at the restaurant, and took all 5 of us out as a way of saying Thank You for all the things we do for her. She had her house listed for sale and made plans to move in with her son and daughter in law , which she did last winter, but with the holp of some of us here in the neighborhood and also the fact she has a lot of friends up here, she is staying put here for now. She and her husband were very active in their church and did a lot of things for others. Took people to Dr. appts., visited them in the hospital or nursing homes, helped them when they needed rides or help moving etc., you name it, and she is still, at 83, doing that. I'm sure the Good Lord welcomed him with open arms and will do the same for her some day. There were over 400 people at his funeral.
Well, times a wastin' here, gotta get going. Have a great day all and if you are on the road or about to be, travel safe, watch the weather and have a safe trip.
