A Chilly Good Morning from the 45th,
A bit cloudy and chilly here this morning, Temp around 18, wind chill around 7 or so perhaps. A light dusting of snow on the ground, maybe 1/8 inch if that. Warmer air coming tomorrow with sundshine though
The cookie baking is done here. Made a couple dozen or so thumbprint cookies, about 6 dozen peanut butter balls (chocolate covered) and about three dozen or so cake based cookies with M&M's in them. Monday, they are all heading to their intended destinations and I will be left with just enough butter cookies to nibble on during the week between Christmas and New Years.
So today is going to be a house cleaning morning and then believe it or not, I am taking that new printer back and looking for another one. Now that I have had a chance to puruse it's manual, I decided that this one is more than what I need for just a home based not used that much printer. You can't tell much by a box anymore. All I really use a printer for is to run off some letters once in awhile and make an photo enlargement once in a while. Otherwise it pretty much sits there. Christmas is it's biggest use time due to printing my annual Christmas letter, but over the years, even that's going down as my card list shrinks.
Otherwise not much doing around here right now. Want to get going and start doing some cleaning, so will wish you all a great day and get with it here.

Morning, Sue and everyone else joining the table!
Sue, you made all my favorite cookies! I use to make spritz and thumbprint as well as pecan tassies (mini pecan pies), every Christmas. Yum!
Yep, a very frigid morning here in the PNW. Brrrrr! I have been going outside and checking the lunar eclipse. It's about 1/3 covered right now. I have my 2 GDs sleeping over and I was going to wake them to see it, but as the moon looks mostly like any other moon that's only partly there, I doubt they'd be interested. And I hate waking them and going out in these temps. My view is also limited by some trees.
I have been thinking on Christmas gift giving and talking with the gals on my bowling league and most are of the same thought.
1. We don't need/want any gifts. (anymore jewelry/knick knacks etc). In fact this year I told my DD that if she was going to get me anything, please get me toilet paper/paper towels from Costco. I like Kirkland brand and that is the only thing I ever purchase from Costco so I can't see paying for a membership just for that. She shops there a couple times a month.
2. It's easier to GIVE gift cards as presents. (unless there is something specific the persons needs). Case in point: my DS/family are all pretty particular on what they like but I do know where they like to shop so gift cards are what I buy them.
I guess on the other hand, is that when you do get a gift, it shouldn't be about what you get, it's about being remembered......
Have a great Saturday!

GOOD MORNING SUE, LENORA, AND ALL!
Glad to hear the baking by Sue is done. I am looking forward to some hand/footprint cookies made my Orion and his mommy! Hope you find the just-right printer, Sue! I really love mine.
Lenora, I wish we could have seen the lunar eclipse here, but the sun came up as the eclipse started, so it's up to you to take pics for us here on the east coast!
Yesterday was pretty much spent trying to help Mandy and Joe, via phone and computer, work on getting heat restored to my northern house until a new heating system can be installed. Then I went to Sea World last night to see it all lit up in its Christmas finery, and fine is a gross understatement for those spectacular light decorations and Christmas music throughout the park. I should have brought my camera, but all I had was my cell phone. Anther night for a real camera so I can download pics onto this computer.
I sent my great grandson a wolf adoption certificate and a plush wolf companion from Defenders of Wildlife yesterday, for Christmas, and told him I hoped he would learn to love wolves as much as I do. I sent my spoiled, princess-like great granddaughter a purple unicorn pillow-buddy thing, as her mom tells me she loves unicorns. My Christmas shopping is pretty well done, as I had previously sent Orion his stocking from Sea World with his name on it and Shamu in a Santa hat! The adults in my family will have to settle for electronic cards and well-wishes! I have no plans for Christmas yet....maybe might stay right here and listen to Christmas carols with my lit tree and remember Christmases past.
I'm not sure what Molly and I will do today, but it wil involve something fun for both of us. Happy Saturday everyone!

Good Morning... the sun is shining and the temp is 15 wonder what it was earlier... this is a real Arctic blast for sure... but tomorrow it will be better... maybe 35 or 40... then mild 40s during the week... who would think I would say mild!!!
My daughter came through surgery fine and now they are adjusting pain med as most know there is pain for sure...
Not much going on here today... oh Lenora I agree about gifts... my grandchildren like money best as they can get what they want or put it toward something... when they get older you cannot know their tastes... and as for me I do not need anything... got rid of so much last year and do not want to start another pile of things!
time to get another cup of coffee... have a warm day where ever you are...
Kathleen

Good Morning all, Sue, you're cookie making is beginning to motivate me. I would like to get some favorite recipes out and give some of my special friends a Christmas Tin of the variety. I'm not doing much shopping, just green stuff for that's really they want. Sue, also since you're returning your purchase. I have an old HP, about 10 years old and I have run two businesses with it. It still prints great, never given me any problems. I expect to keep using it for a long time. I don't know if they are as good now but surely they are even better.
Lenora, I sometimes wonder if we have gotten too practical with our gift giving. Most of us have two of everything, I certainly don't want anything or need anything but wasn't it fun in the old days to exchange, unwrap and ooh and ah. We do use this time of year to remember the less fortunate and I admit I get the spirit more in dropping my change in the Salvation Army Can than all the fabulous decorations on every storefront.
Soos, that little boy is so fortunate to have a grandmother who teaches him to love and appreciate God's creatures and the wonders of nature
Kathleen, good news the surgery went well for your daughter. Not a good time of year for surgery..I had back surgery just before Christmas. All my shopping was done and we still had the family in tho I didn't do much cooking. I remember how foolish I felt just sitting there in my recliner while all the family arrived, I finally couldn't stand it and started getting up everytime another group arrived..boy, did I pay for that! Again, on the money giving, I started writing checks when a 20 dollar bill was burned up in the fireplace and I don't like mailing gift cards, too many stolen as reported by my brother who works for Post Office.
My nephew is watching basketball on TV but just announced he is hungry so off to the kitchen to make pancakes

Weather is perfect today here in Saint Cloud, FL. Every night I drive by these two houses that are loaded with Christmas lights. We hung bunting on the staircase banister this morning. It makes the house so festive when we plug it in and all the lights start twinkling. Had my hair done today so it looks decent for tonight, a Christmas banquet at church. Went to a Bunko holiday party Thursday and a cookie exchange last night. Two holiday parties next week. I am enjoying all this holidaying. Hope everyone stays warm and enjoys a great weekend!!!

Long time no morning coffee!
Been busy starting up a little sideline making those wooden push along Brio style trains. Gotta get my head
outta this computer sometimes.
It's been Fa-REEEEZING here!
Had to turn the Mr Buddy to the high setting last night. Never had to do that before.

Linda, where are you in St. Cloud?? My trailer is parked on Mercedes Ave., a dead-end road where all the new road construction is going on. Could we meet sometime for coffee, or something? It would be fun to meet a member who is right here where I am! I am sure my son would agree to a campfire by his pond one night on the weekend when they don't have to get up for work the following day.
