Cloudy Monday Morning

Good Morning all,
I'm home from the U.P.. We had an uneventful trip home. When we got up yesterday morning, it had rained of course all day for the most part on Saturday and then the temp dropped during the night changing it over to a light dusting of snow and freezing my truck into a cake of ice. The frame of my tonneau cover actually froze to my tailgate and we couldn't get it open . Finally sprayed my spray anitfreeze stuff along the edge and took a knife and slid it along the edge as well to get it open. Great start for the trip home .
The roads were fine for the most part, just wet and a little slush here and there for about the first 10 miles. We stopped in Ishpeming for breakfast and then headed east on just wet roads. Ran into some lake effect snow showers coming in off Lake Superior in the area that's known for that stuff. The road follows right along the lake at that point and the wind was buffeting my truck a bit. But once past all that, no problem from there on. Clear dry roads by the time we turned to head south to U.S. 2. Lots of traffic heading home, so the roads were busy.
All the way home though, we did have some snow showers periodically and especially around this area which is high elevation anyway. It was a rain/snow mix when we got home here and Branda decided to head for home rather than spend another couple of nights as she had originally planned. She was worried about the weather as she didn't like what we had to start off in yesterday morning. The southern part of Michigan seems to be getting more lousy weather than we did last winter and as she told me this morning in an email, they are supposed to have some lousy stuff tomorrow down there, so she was glad she headed home. Here we have a nice forecast for almost all week. Plus I think she was ready to get back to "civilization" as the part of the U.P. we were in is pretty isolated and lacking the stores she is used to etc. And she has projects she wants to get back to and her routines etc. But we had a great time.
So this morning I am heading into Gaylord, to do some shopping and take care of business that needs attending to after being gone a week, plus pad the checkbook for the upcoming charge bill from this trip I have unpacked everything except a couple of boxes of stuff and have the first load of washing going right now. Will do more later on. Then I think I might take the girls over to the park for a run. They have really been sleeping since we got home.
Just having a light breakfast here this morning, have to restock the larder. Need to lose some weight after a week of eating
So, hope you have a nice day this last Monday of November. If you are on the road, enjoy your travels and keep safe, and everyone else, have a nice day.
