HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY GOOD CAMPING AND WANNA-BE CAMPING FRIENDS!

It's another beautiful sunny FL day, and Molly and I are off to the house to cook the turnips I cut up last night (no easy feat without a machete, as some of you will know!)and then head over to Pete's to eat and have fun.

May we all have a wonderful time, no matter what we will be doing or eating or thinking. I will be thinking of all of you.

Love to all from me and Molly

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The table is set, the coleslaw is made, the pumpkins pie & cake are done and the sausuage, onions, bacon, celery & garlic are sauteed for the stuffing. Have a blessed day everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving all. We finally made plans for Thanksgiving dinner, Cracker Barrel :) Hate the thought of standing in line but would rather do that than cook a turkey. My family isn't into holidays, DH on the other hand loves them but he doesn't have any family left, so he was really happy when I told him my cousin's son had invited us for Christmas dinner. He even brings out our little ceramic Christmas tree with the little red cardinals that light up circa 1950's. I contribute the bah humbug ;) I haven't like Christmas since I found out there was no Santa, scarred me for life!

Soos I'm picturing you with a machete after those turnips. I think the only turnips I've had were cooked whole with a pork roast.

Sharon so glad to hear the change in food is working for your little ones, and Wendy I sent you a PM about it.

Oh a good Thanksgiving it is... my grandson Tim and his friend Isaiah brought me a plate with turkey, dressing and mashed potatoes and a slice of pie on the side... now how much better could that be...
God bless each of you...
Kathleen

Had to set my alarm today to get up in time to go voulunteer at the free Thanksgiving Day meal in a town near here. Met some wonderful people in both the volunteers and those there for the food. Plus I got to eat :) I'm stuffed. On the way back (Molly was with me) we stopped and did a short hike. Then I came home and walked Peaches. I still think I have food to walk off.

Last year I went into work at 10 on Thanksgiving night for a 1/2 shift - Amazon closes from 11 am to 10:30 pm (or close to that) so day shift works only a 1/2 shift, the 1st half of their shift. Then 2nd shift works only the 2nd 1/2 of their shift. That way everyone can spent time with their families. This year, it's one of my days off - so I don't go back in till tomorrow afternoon.

Met a couple at the dinner today - such a sweet couple. He lost his job and since he's had 2 heart surgeries, can't get insurance. He's on unemployment - but by $10 a month that gives him too much to get food stamps. They told me that they have discovered in life that in times like this, they get what they need - and have to accept they don't NEED the things they may want. They said this with smiles on their faces. I went and got them a couple extra slices of ham and extra rolls to take home. They hadn't finished everything else on their plates, so that would give them another complete meal for tomorrow. (They opted for the ham over the turkey.) They both gave me big hugs and I felt so glad to have met them - and so thankful for all I have, little as it may be, it's all mine and I can continue to travel around this wonderful country (and Canada and Mexico) and meet all of you as I do so - life is so good.

Hope you've all filled your bellies where ever you are - whether with family or friends or simply having a relaxing day by yourself. It's all good. And it's even better because we have each other to share it all with.

Happy Thanksgiving.
