Good Morning all,

Another day has dawned here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I can't say as yet, what kind of day it will be as it's still dark out there. But I do know it's going to be windy though after sticking my head outside to check on the girls. We are supposed to get some warm weather weather moving in espcially for tomorrow, so that will be nice.

We spent another day on the road yesterday, driving around to some of the different places that Brenda hasn't been to. And enjoying the snow covered scenery along the way. Did get to see one of the waterfalls that I was hoping to get to. The snow wasn't very deep, maybe two inches give or take, so I was able to get into the parking area and we walked the hardtopped path back to the falls. I'll post more pictures from this trip in General Talk after I get home as we will probably be taking some more between now and then.

Today is going to be a more laid back day. Just going into Ishpeming, about 15 miles up the road, browsing the Bookstore and another store that I want to go to. Then we will head back home and start making preparations for tomorrows Thanksgiving dinner.

Some of you have asked or been wondering if there are restaurants or stores near this area and why we bought so much food with us. Breanda has glulten intolerance and a few other food allergies, so is restricted to what she can eat. It's very hard if not almost impossible for her to go to a restaurant and eat out cause menu choices are limited and although many grocery stores have gluten free sections in the store, what's there is usually limited. So she buys stuff from the local Amish and also speciality stores down in southern Michigan where she lives. So in the light of that, she brought up a lot of different kinds of gluten free food stuff for this week as well as the many different spices etc. that she uses. That's why we had so many boxes and coolers with food stuff. Other wise, yes, there are grocery stores and restaurants up here. I use them all the time when I am up here alone.

So I guess it's time to get moving around here. I'm sitting here drinking a glass of OJ and Brenda hasn't made an appearance yet. We are having pumpkin pancakes and sausage for breakfast this morning, so come on up and join us. No coffee here though, so you will have to bring your own. But we do have cider, OJ, water, milk (organic and regular), and tea.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. If you are traveling to be with families or just out on the road, keep safe. If you are making dinner preparations, have fun. Those with health issues, know too, that this shall pass.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

It looks as if we had about 6 or more inches of snow at home overnight, and it's still coming down up there. I truly do miss seeing that pretty white stuff and going out gliding over it on my trails on the property. BUT----I suppose swimming and sitting in the sunshine in shorts and sleeveless shirts can make up for it!

It's a cooler morning here today, (around 67 when I got up) and a cold front (HAHAHA----meaning something in the 70s!) heading our way for this afternoon, with possible showers along with it. Tomorrow is supposed to be not humid, and in the mid 70s to 80 degrees. I guess I can stand that!

Nothing scheduled for today but fun in the sun here. And getting the turnips ready for tomorrow's feast. Here's hoping you all are having a fun pre-feast day!

Good Morning Sue and Soos... what a nice day we will have after the rain and cold of yesterday... the sun will shine...
I am going to have the park manager winterize Bright Hope so there will not be damage if it gets cold here before I am able to leave for the south...
I have been up since before 6 it is almost 8 and I can see the rays of sun coming in now...
Yes Sue I found stores in larger towns but not the smaller ones... I went through the center of the UP... I do not have a condition but take most of my food with me anyway that way I do not have to spend time in stores... So very glad to see your pictures and hear your adventures...
this morning yes I am very sore it will pass...
I trust each of you have made your plans for Thanksgiving be it alone, with family or friends we have a lot to be thankful even in this bad economy. Each of us has a place to stay and food on out plates.
Kathleen

Good Morning to All - from Hermosillo, MX - finally got out of Nogales Km 21. Today we'll head south again to Huatabampito - the beach of the beautiful sunsets!
Last night was the first time since we got it that we didn't turn on the electric blanket - Yah. Took some pictures yesterday but was just too tired last night to do anything with them. One was very disturbing - the fence/wall between USA and Mexico in Nogales.......could not imagine living next to it.
We are fine - I think the scare with the car scared Bills cold away -
An early Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and safe travels if you're on the road.

Carol so glad you are all safe and the ordeal is behind you, I bet you are both ready to relax!
Soos, bear up with all that sunshine I know it must be rough :D As long as there is no humidity it sounds ideal to me, I don't do humidity well.
Sue I understand all the food now, I've never been to the UP and thought maybe you were going into the wilderness. I actually always carry food & water with me, I have to eat often and I am careful of what I do eat. I'm one of those people that considers eating a chore. Next time I travel I'm going to be sure I'm not far from two things a good coffee shop and a Whole Foods or similar grocery!
Kathleen glad you have someone to winterize Bright Hope for you, it's better to be safe.
It's cloudy again but warmish, supposed to be like this until next week and then get cold with show showers possible. Maybe I should go visit Soos!

Good morning from the beautiful desert! 3G comes and goes, so don't know if this will actually make it on to the forum or not, but I'm trying. At least with Birdies magic antenna I can at least make and receive phone calls. Speaking of which, I got a call from Chrysler yesterday that my car is NOT legal to register in Ca. I was afraid of that. So it seems that Greenville Chrysler has to find me another car. But at least I can see an end in sight of this nightmare. Also got a call from the Dr., nothing found on the ultrasound, so I guess it's on to more tests. Or maybe it's just all in my head... :? But at least I'm in my favorite place, the weather is gorgeous so far and I've managed to keep the little sand car on all 4 of his wheels....so far. I do tend to get a little braver as the week goes on and I get my sand legs under me. A beer helps, too! Just one to calm the nerves a little. Anyway, I'm having fun and getting in lots of visiting with my jeep club buddies. They're really good at taking care of us widder women. Hope has a little drip coming from the gasket on the water pump, so I have to keep it turned off when not using it or it goes out on thermal overload, but other than that, life is sweet. Hope everyone is having a great time and good plans for Thanksgiving.

Oh yeah, BJ, got Chewy started on the Ziwipeak and both kids are now on Missing Link. I can already see a difference in how much the Samcat is shedding! Yay! Thank you for that info!

Gotta get some breakfast and go out and put gas in PeeWee, I'll post as Verizon lets me!

Good morning everyone, and happy day before as everyone gets ready to celebrate in their own way! I mentioned in the Thanksgiving plans post that I was trying to find a way to perhaps move the celebration to someone elses house and I suceeded! Only because oldest son had hip surgery last week and isnt quite as spry as he thought hed be at this point. Grandsons will help him fry a turkey, which always makes me a little (lot) nervous, dur to all the turkey-frying disasters they always show on the news! Sue and Sharon, glad you're having great times with friends. To me, its always mpre fun to have someone to hang out with altho I will go somewhere by myself if I want to go. Sharon, will they bring you your new car and pick up the other one? BJ, did you post somewhere about that shedding treatment. I would be very interested in that too.Couple of weeks ago, I had enough dog hairto make another pepper! One is enough. I alsohave a big fluffy hairy cat! I always like the things where they ask little kids how to cook a turkey and what Thanksgiving is that you hear about now. One little kid said after the pilgrims and indians ate, they went in the den and watched football! Well, this turned out a bit long. Everyone have fun and be safe! Wendy

Good morning, all.
No damage from last nights severe weather but it is about 10 degrees cooler this morning, still overcast but there is a chance for a bit of sun before days end. And forecast is for a beautiful sunny Thanksgiving Day. Dramatic change by Monday - real winter weather forecast. Since most of Nov weather has been exceptionally good, can't really complain.

I have constructed a well thought out "to do" list but it has a serious flaw in that there is not much on it I actually want to tackle. May have to work on that a bit more and stay off POGO if I am to accomplish anything at all.

Coffee is gone but there will be a pot of soup simmering in a little while so stop by for a bowl.
