Good Morning all,
Another day has dawned here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I can't say as yet, what kind of day it will be as it's still dark out there. But I do know it's going to be windy though after sticking my head outside to check on the girls. We are supposed to get some warm weather weather moving in espcially for tomorrow, so that will be nice.
We spent another day on the road yesterday, driving around to some of the different places that Brenda hasn't been to. And enjoying the snow covered scenery along the way. Did get to see one of the waterfalls that I was hoping to get to. The snow wasn't very deep, maybe two inches give or take, so I was able to get into the parking area and we walked the hardtopped path back to the falls. I'll post more pictures from this trip in General Talk after I get home as we will probably be taking some more between now and then.
Today is going to be a more laid back day. Just going into Ishpeming, about 15 miles up the road, browsing the Bookstore and another store that I want to go to. Then we will head back home and start making preparations for tomorrows Thanksgiving dinner.
Some of you have asked or been wondering if there are restaurants or stores near this area and why we bought so much food with us. Breanda has glulten intolerance and a few other food allergies, so is restricted to what she can eat. It's very hard if not almost impossible for her to go to a restaurant and eat out cause menu choices are limited and although many grocery stores have gluten free sections in the store, what's there is usually limited. So she buys stuff from the local Amish and also speciality stores down in southern Michigan where she lives. So in the light of that, she brought up a lot of different kinds of gluten free food stuff for this week as well as the many different spices etc. that she uses. That's why we had so many boxes and coolers with food stuff. Other wise, yes, there are grocery stores and restaurants up here. I use them all the time when I am up here alone.
So I guess it's time to get moving around here. I'm sitting here drinking a glass of OJ and Brenda hasn't made an appearance yet. We are having pumpkin pancakes and sausage for breakfast this morning, so come on up and join us. No coffee here though, so you will have to bring your own. But we do have cider, OJ, water, milk (organic and regular), and tea.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. If you are traveling to be with families or just out on the road, keep safe. If you are making dinner preparations, have fun. Those with health issues, know too, that this shall pass.
