A cheerful Good Morning coming your way today. Hope you all had a good day yesterday. Frost on the pumpkin here this morning, but promise of a nice mild day.

Been a little busy here these past few days. Cleaned a couple of more rooms in the house really good, finished blowing the last of the leaves for this year, got some shopping done, drooled over a fleece jacket, wool shirt combo at one of the local sporting outfitters in town. May go back and get it :) Went to mass yesterday morning, walked the dogs etc. etc. Anyway, the weekend went.

We have a doggy guest here till his owners come back this afternoon from downstate and Northern Indiana. They took a quick run down to visit family yesterday morning. Since they own a motel, this is their last chance to go down as once the white stuff starts to fly, they won't be able to get away. So he's stayed the night with us last night. He's a big Golden Retriever and loves to sleep in bed at night, but he ran into a wall here as my two literally shut him off the bed last night  Guess they are jealous of him and don't like having this big guy here much less sleeping with me. Sassy some nights will sleep with me for maybe 45 minutes and then gets warm and leaves. Tessa sleeps in her own bed for the most part this time of year, but as soon as I was ready for bed last night, both of them wanted up pronto. Then laid there looking at him with a "don't even think about it stare" And both of them slept with me all night with exceeption of Sassy who got down and left for a bit, then woke me up to go out and when she came back in, heading back to the bed again. Stayed there till this morning.

Sparky is a good dog. He's big. He stands almost at my hips and I'm 5'7". He weighs about 95 pounds and is really strong. When you walk him, it takes a lot of strength to hold him back as he wants to take off and is always tugging on the leash. But after we got home, they all zonked out and I had furry bodies laying all over the living room and kitchen  But they all had a good time snooping and sniffing all over. And they even shared each others food last night. You know, the old scenerio of yours looks better than mine. Sparky has allergies and is on that "Call of the Wild" natural food. And naturally my two think its great. Now they want mom to buy that. At $40 bucks a bag

So today it's off to my monthly chiropractor appt., then a bit of shopping to look at Turkeys as they are on sale and I am picking one up for our trip Sunday. And going back to check on that outfit again. I know, you are all taking bets that I will buy it  Want to set the covers I made over my globe yews today and get that finalized up.And also going to get the trucks oil changed, tires rotated and new wiper blades put on so it's all ready for winter. Snow showers predicted for mid week. Got a a lamp in for repair and want to check on that too. This time of year, when you have nice days, you had better take advantage of them cause you never know when the weather is going to change. I've noticed a lot of people in the grocery stores lately, buying a lot of stuff and it's not for Thanksgiving. They are stocking up for winter. There are those who live way out on country roads who osmetimes can get snowed in, if conditions are right. Or just don't want to drive all the way to town if it's bad. Lake Effect snow is hard to judge when it's in the forecast cause of the winds. And it can come upon you in an instant. One minute the sun can be shining and the next, a dark cloud comes along and you can't see two feet ahead of you if you can see at all.

Well guess it's time to be off and rolling around here. Need to start getting clothes etc. ready for Sunday and the last minute stuff taken care of this week. Have a meeting to attend for unemployment on Thursday afternoon and my friend is coming on Friday, so will be a bit busy this week. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning Sue and everyone....a warm overcast day in NY and I am enjoying these 60 degree days while they last. Yesterday I went to a surprise birthday brunch for my niece at a very nice restaurant in Rocky Hill, CT. The restaurant, called the Dakota, was a huge log building filled with artifacts and decor of the old West. I am not sure if the artifacts were genuine but I loved seeing them and explaining them to the twins (who turned 6 last week). I don't think cowboys and indians are a part of their world, as they were in mine..oh how I loved my Annie Oakley outfit, complete with guns and boots. Anyway, as some of you know, my dream is to go out west to the national parks and the reservations and the Grand Canyon...this was a teaser for me and made me more anxious to get going.

The brunch was excellent. Usually brunches consist of rubbery warm scrambled eggs, but this had smoked salmon, shepherd's pie, yummy waffles, and on and on. The spread was probably the best I have ever seen. I took Kyle by the hand to scope out the place before we got our plates. We stopped at the waffle station and there was a huge plate of freshly whipped cream looking like a fluffy snow mountain, and the temptation was too great...out went the scooping finger, through the center of the cream and onto his face and into his mouth. We disappeared into the crowd quickly......

Have a great day and don't forget to scoop out the whipped cream before it is too late.

Good Morning all, It is still windy but not as bad as the last couple of days. I'm surprised at how few branches we have down but guess others haven't been so lucky.
Sue, you have me on a cleaning kick too, would you please take a rest! I tackled a closet this morning and found a lovely treasure so I should be saying thank you :D I picked up a beautiful box and thought it was empty but decided to look. Inside was a gorgeous white/clear opalescent glass candy dish. I sat it on a table next to a big hand blown pink bowl in my living room and it now looks pink. I am embarrassed to say I have no idea where I got it. I did remember I had that was a gift to my grandmother when she married in the early 1900's but it is round and this one is more square. Also, the jacket that you are considering...could you let me know what brand it is, sounds like something I would also really like.

Carol I had to laugh at the whipped cream incidence with Kyle! What did they expect putting that within reach, I would have had a hard time resisting!!

Tomorrow my Lovely LC goes into storage for the winter, I'll miss seeing her in the driveway. They did tell me at Van City I should turn the batteries on and run her for about a half hour each month to keep the batteries good.

Time to hit the streets for my walk. Today is a yoga day which I always enjoy.

Would you all please QUIT CLEANING?! By the way, good morning! Still warm here in Ala, but a little cloudy today. It has been beautiful. Just trying to get minimum cleaning and straightening done so I have the rest of the week free. Oldest son is having surgery tomorrow, and one day I have to go downtown and renew the rv. I couldnt mail it in like I did my car because apparently i left my husbands name on it so I have to go with all the paperwork because of the new immigration stuff going on. It has my name on it also. And they have closed all the courthouses but one due to budgeting so that will pretty much take all day! And Thurs I have a lunch with some old friends. Anyone who is interested, Diane Sawyer has an interview on tonight with Gabby Giffords, looks interesting. All have a good day and a fun day! Wendy

Good Morning,

After some rain Saturday night, it is beautiful in the desert. Saturday we did the last part of a 3 part mountain climb - we did the first 2 parts last spring, but just never had the opportunity to do the whole thing. It was rather an ugly climb - loose rocks, animal paths rather than trail in some areas, 1/2 mile gaining nearly 400 feet in elevation. It was a bit disappointing to not be able to reach the very top, but it was all big rock and straight up - a rock climber I am not.

Yesterday we took a quick ride to one of my favorite areas amid the large rock/boulder hills. That trail is quite curvy so I'm trying to get to know it so I can do it faster. I also drove down a long, steep hill without losing control - for me that's big progress!

We are headed out again at 9 a.m. but due to one of the gals having back problems, we'll take a 'smooth' course.

Amidst all this, I am actually making progress with the camper and 5er cleaning and organizing.

Wishing you all a great day whatever you are doing!

I'm not cleaning, Wendy. Should be, but am not.

Today, at work, I get a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Amazon is having one of the local restaurants cater two days this week (to try to get all the people on all the different shifts). Tonight will be my night. Then I head into my 3 days off. I'm guessing I'll get 3 days off again next week, but after that, who knows? But I'm here for the money, so even as my feet ache, I have to remember that.

Anita, you have way more energy than me. But I sure love what you're doing.

Carol, I love western themed just about anything - even when I know how contrived some of it is. But I love the real western towns and places the best. I hope you get to fill your dreams with the real thing soon.

Lucky for Kyle  that you only had him by one hand... Yep, and get out west before the glaciers all melt away.

I've been cooking all morning since I am hostess for this afternoon's Women's Fellowship meeting at church. My turn to bring refreshments and I could only prep one thing at a time, and cook one thing at a time in my little kitchen. So, did the cookies first. Then two different appetizers. Chili in the Slow Cooker and a pan of corn bread. (Used the stone-ground corn meal from the mill on Cape Cod) That ought to fill everybody up. Don't know what happened to the cold front though....in the 80s today.

Nan and I are supposed to gtg again tomorrow to get some screen fabric for a couple of projects. She is one talented lady with her sewing machine.

Anita, while I was volunteering at Ocali Days at Silver River SP yesterday we had a gentleman stop who just moved here from AZ....he was so happy to get out of the desert and see some water again  You make the desert sound so alluring, I can't wait to get there!

Off to church to set the table; catch you later.

GOOD AFERNOON TO ALL!

I am back at my Orlando house for about three days to make sure things are good here. So far, I had no internet, no phone, and no cable, even though I had called to have this reactivated on the 10th. Now I have internet, and phone, but still no cable at this moment. I am waiting for a call back from Brighthouse to see if it can be fixed over the phone, or if it needs to be done by a service call.

The yard looks great, the inside is just as I left it, of course, and all-in-all, I am happy! The temperature is in the low 80s with a great breeze, and I plan to go swimming this afternoon after some lunch! I have one screen that got partially unsplined in the screen room, which will be easy to fix, I think. My poor orange trees look not very good, however. Perhaps the drought finally did them in, as they are as old as this house.

The kids and I are leaving the St.Cloud house at 7:30 Friday morning to go to the airport for their flight to Costa Rica, They will return the following Sunday, a married couple! I will probably stay right there in the trailer for the entire week they are gone, as I am cat sitting for them. If it stays this nice and warm I can go swimming at St. Cloud beach with the powdery, white sand!

I can't express how happy I am to be back down here, although I sure do miss seeing that baby! Sigh.

Alice, good to see you can once again have coffee----my stomach has been messed up for about three weeks now, and I am trying to make things better with that, as well. My first thing to order is going to be a trailer for my bike and some kind of harness to stake Molly into the trailer with!

Liz is cooking, as usual, and going to meet up with Nan again....say HI for me----I think of her each time I reach for my beautiful towel she made for me on the Ocala GTG last year.

I laughed to visualize Kyle digging into the whipped cream mountain! He's a spirit after my own heart!

YIPPEE!!!! It's sunny, warm, and wonderful down here! I will get into the chatroom tonight, for sure.

Wendy, I sure wish I would have TV for tonight as I would love to see that interview with Gabby Giffords----but, the call back siad the first time they can get here is Wednesday morning between 8 and 10:00 am. Oh well.....

Good morning from California

Another work day for Annie.

Spent the weekend sacking out and not doing much, recovering from the nutzo last week.
