The Last Thursday of October

Morning,

This last week of October is windng down slow but sure. Before we know it, the holidays will be here again and a new year will be starting. I probably threw some people into a panic with this exciting news  As is, it is only three weeks away to leave day for my friend and I to head north for Thanksgiving.

Scrambled egge, sausage and orange juice in the tummey already this morning. Anybody want any, come on over. Or if you prefer i have some ceral or toast. It's still dark outside, so nice breakfast to start off the day.

Did wind up going someplace with the "girls" yesterday. first off went to a small town called Frederic, about 8 miles south of here to get gas. Although I have two gas stations a couple of miles up the road here, the price down there is $.30 less than it is in this county. Go figure. It makes it well worth my time to go out of my way. Then stopped back by the house to put on a couple more layers, pick up dog leashes, and we took a ride to the northeastern part of the county. Haven't been up that way in a while. Drove around some old haunts and property we used to own and then out into the Pigeon River Country State Forest, to a small lake and state forest campground. Let the girls snoop and sniff out there for awhile. Wish I had taken the camera as the Tamarack trees are in their full peak of color right now. Very bright shades of gold. After that we moseyed home and I took them on a two mile walk around one of the lakes here by me that I used to live on. So they got their full day's worth. Zonked out after we got back from that :)

Today I think I am going to start getting my shrubs ready to burlap and maybe clean up some leaves in one area of my yard. The weather is gradually getting colder and some day that white stuff willl make an appearance. Also want to put in those driveway markers as the ground is going to start gradually freezing. Yu get the drift I like to be outdoors

So guess it's time to be off and get busy around here. Good day all.

Morning, Colliemom and all,

Scrambled eggs and sausage, mmmm!
Haven't posted for a while, nothing much to report. The Casita's (our pet name, not the brand) second big major trip will take place over Thanksgiving, the big trial run to full-timing later. We're taking the aged cat with us this time, and have been getting him slowly accustomed to the smells of his new palace. I have a feeling that none of us will get much sleep this trip. (Even without the cat, newbie anxieties are likely to keep us awake!). The week is winding down, and there's a chance of rain in the forecast -hooray! We really need it. :D

Good Morning,

I post on ORS and forget to come over here to post!

LeRoy and I left his home in NE Wisconsin on the 17th. He has his 5er with RZR on tote behind so is LONG. Love my truck camper! Stopped at the National (Hot Air) Balloon Museum south of Des Moines, Iowa - interesting displays. On to the Manhattan, Kansas area where my older daughter and other relatives live - time with the 3 grandchildren. Attended a country church where my G G grandfather was minister in the 1880s.

Hutchinson, Kansas has the Cosmosphere Museum and the Underground Salt Mine - I highly recommend both!! I'll get back to my blog someday.

We are now in very cold Guymon, OK headed to Albuquerque for a few days before we head on to our winter home in Salome near Quartzsite. Not liking the snow report near Cottonwood!!

And there you have it!

Wishing everyone a good day and strength to those who are dealing with life's not so pleasant issues.

Good morning Sue, Megan, Anita & everyone!

Sue, yep, you can certainly tell you enjoy the outdoors! There's nothing wrong with that!

Megan, you're going to be just fine on your Thanksgiving outing. I can't wait to hear about it.

Anita, I really enjoy hearing about your travels and am so glad you've had a chance to stop in and visit with your family.

It's a damp morning on the eastern shore of MD. We have a chance of showers the better part of the day and the temperatures are going to continue falling. By Sunday, we'll be lucky if we get to 50 degrees.

An ad started running in the local papers a couple days ago for my job and my brother said his phone is ringing off the hook. He had no idea he would get so many responces for the position. I will be giving whoever he hires on the job training the last two weeks of December. Despite mixed emotions about leaving, I'm really looking forward to getting away for the winters and starting this new phase in my life.

To those on the road, be safe and to those struggling with life's issues, please take care.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL.

I cannot stay logged on long enough, when I can get on at all, over in the ORS site to post anything, so, those of you who read both sites, I hope you will convey my thoughts and apologies to that group.

It's sunnyish, so I guess I should be happy for that, athough the temperatures are in the 30s. I'm about to carry some firewood up to the porch for Mandy, then go in and share some coffee and hugs on Orion. Her doc appointment yesterday was good news, and I hope things will stay good from now on with that mastitis stuff. I would hate to have to see her stop breast feeding for many reasons. So far, so good.

I guess I have one more week here before I think about leaving. Now I am shooting for Saturday, Nov. 5th, or Sunday, Nov. 6th for my pulling out day. I may head home again this weekend while Joe is back up here to make sure my motorcycle is put safely away for the winter, remove its battery and store it inside, and make sure I haven't forgotten anything else back there. I will aso have some mail to pick up.

Hope you can all find a few words to share with us this morning. Later.......

Good Morning to All - the sun is shining brightly here at 1000 Trails Valley Verde, AZ - about 20 miles south of Sedona. Absolutely beautiful area.
The snow yesterday was next to nothing - just along side the road and whole area is supposed to be nicer as the days go on. But it was a surprise.
Bill moved the levelers this morning to adjust Alfie this morning and it pissed Stanley - the satellite off - just that little movement and he had to search again. Just fractions of inches. So he's happy again now.
We'll stay here for a week - probably take a couple of rides out into the rocks in the Jeep. Go up to Jerome for a day.
From here we'll go to Vegas for a couple of weeks at the TT campground there. We pay for this darn Thousand Trails membership - need to use it once in a while.
Just going to relax today - Bill slept like a log last night. Good. I know I need to get over his heart attack and bypass - he is fine now - but..........

Good afternoon! Here in Raleigh watching our 7 grandkids (maybe our older ones are watching us  ) while the parents are in Asheville til Sunday. I get enough workout while I'm here to make up for all my "retirement" days. Weather is great. Got an early b'day present from tGM-an I-pad :o Luckily my oldest is a computer whiz and he's trying to get me "updated" Personally, I think tGM wanted an excuse to buy one.

Carol, we were in Sedona this year for over a week and the last time we were there (5 years ago) we had snow and it was just beautiful. Love the place.

Seems like most of you are either getting ready for winter or planning on avoiding it. Whoops, I'm being summoned. Enjoy your day. carold

50ish and rainy here all day today. Good day to lay in bed and watch movies or read. My first day off this week. French toast and bacon at the Huddle House this morning about 4am after my shift at amazon. May make a run to Walmart to buy supplies for winterizing the water lines just in case. Other than that just a lazy day here.

How about planning to join us at the gtg in TX in March? Have you checked that out in the GTG room? We'd love to have you.

Christine, your Boston Terrier ornaments are really cute. We had a Boston Terrier years ago and my son would like to have another one. Maybe someday.
