Good Mornng everyone,

Been up since 5:45 a.m. here  Dayllght is starting to filter in as it's now 7:40. So making a quick entry. Have to get ready to head to town for chiropractor appt., bank, store etc.

The 4th day of wind here today. Been anywhere from 25-45 mile an hour gusts since Friday. Fortunately hasn't been too chilly, although the highs are in the 40's mostly with some 50's around. But if you dress for the weather, you have no problem. The winds have brought down a lot of leaves, so fall color season is definitely over here. There are still some trees hangng tough though. Everybody in the neighborhood is going to wind up raking or blowing everybody else's leaves after it quits, as the wind is blowing one yards worth leaves into the next and so forth down the line  Now maybe we should luck out like last years sustained 45 mile an hour winds with gusts to 60, that literally blew every leaf out of sight around here. That was a surprise to wake up to and find all the leaves in your yard gone :o . But it was nice, no blowing needed. Not so nice in the downed trees and power lines department.

Getting ready for winter slow but sure. TT is all winterized and covered, grass is cut for the last time, pine needles raked up and waiting to be hauled out back to the dump pile. Stil need to winterize lawn tractor after it's done hauling needles, get the snowblower out of hibernation and started up, screens to store and windows to wash and of course the neighbors yard worth of leaves in my yard to blow back into the woods  All will get done. Need some cooperation from mom nature first.

Enjoying reading about the GTG's, travel plans for those heading south and the upcoming GTG's being planned. Noticed that the AR GTG is pretty quiet. Apparently what has been going on at that GTG is staying with that GTG  . Will be fun following the winter adventures of everyone down south and whatever those of us north get into. I've got my scrapbook to catch up on from all the trips I took this summer, so that will be fun to do when I get started. Can dream about summer and new adventures while the snow flies outside. Am really getting the itch to head into the U.P. for a few days, so will probably be heading up there once I get the outside stuff under control around here.

Hope you all have a nice day today, whatever your plans are. Those on the road, drive safe especially if you are in the areas where it's windy. Enjoy..

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

I was thinking, as I was lolling in bed (the sofa here in my house living room) watching the sun light up the surrounding woods, how wonderfully nice it is to not have to jump out of bed to the sound of an alarm clock and prepare for a rigidly scheduled day! This retired life has been so delightfully rewarding for me! I do miss the kids at school, but not enough to mourn the getting out!

Today is my appointment with my house security guy, who will replace the batteries in my sensors and make sure all is well with the system. Then I will make arrangements for payment of another year of service. I am under no contract with this service, so I can choose which months I wish to have covered. However, after the flooding washing machine debacle on the Fourth of July this year, with the sensor on the floor in the cellar picking up the danger and sending an alarm to Mandy and me working in the kitchen, I am thinking it would be good to just get the entire year covered again. That alarm saved the flooding of the entire basement that day and more than paid for the cost of the service! The comfort of my knowing my house is protected while no one is home here, from water in the cellar, to no heat, to smoke and fire, and to anyone breaking in is well worth the yearly fee. I would really like to have the same sort of service in FL.

It's 39 degrees here today, still overcast, but no rain coming down. Hopefully, after the security man leaves, Molly and I can get a walk in before I have to go shopping for some food and snacks for her. I am pretty well organized and ready to head back to Mandy's on Thursday. From there, I will just play it by the day until I decide to head south.

Hope everyone has a good day no matter what you decide to do, and that you'll share a few words with us all over the coffee here. The price of coffee, I noticed, is now more than the price of beef by a long shot! ACK!

Glad you had the alarm service when you needed it, Soos.

They can be handy for a lot more than just burglary.

It was a beautiful morning here at my home in McIntosh, FL. Not much lake left in view from my site, but sunrises should be pretty anyway.

I was greeted by my friend the red-shouldered hawk, as well as human friends here at the park. Roe and I had a nice walk around town and stopped for a visit with friends from church. It is about 85 humid degrees this afternoon, but is expected to cool to highs in the 70's later this week.

Tomorrow I will travel to my dd's near Tampa to pick up my meds and other mail, and change out a few clothes that I have stored there. I plan to be in FL through Christmas, then head west to TX.

Hope everyone is having a nice day, doing something fun.
