Good Morning to All - It is still dark out and pretty cool. At least the rain is gone - but leaving in its place winds. Hope they aren't too bad as today is the day we take off. Yep our winter trip is starting. Just have to finish loading the stuff from the fridge into Alfie (and wait for Bill to wake up) then we'll be off. Not going too far today - about 180 miles into Illinois. From there not sure. Will probably stay there tonight and tomorrow. We're not in a hurry. We want to avoid I-40 through Oklahoma - it is possibly one of the worst highways around.
Hopefully our satellite was reinstalled correctly after they put on the new roof - if so I'll be keeping up the blog with our journey. We know it goes up and down but there are too many trees here at home for it to lock onto a satellite........
Hope everyone has a nice and safe day.

GOOD MORNING CAROL AND ALL!

On the road again, at last, Carol! I sure do hope your satellite dish and connection are working, too, as I always love to hear about your travels and see your pictures! Hope you have a fun winter and that we can all travel with you.

It's a rainy, dark, and grey morning out there, with on and off thundershowers and a relatively warm temperature of 59 degrees. I guess Molly and I won't be doing a lot of walking today! Must find inside stuff to keep us occupied, which should be easy if I tackle some more "stuff" in the closets!

Pete will be leaving his house to the realtor today, too, and heading out to visit family and then to his spot in Kissimmee, FL. I will be looking forward to a lobster feast dinner with him when I get down there!

My daughter gets her surgery staples romoved today, and little Orion gets another checkup to see how he is doing on the profuse milk supply. I will be looking forward to hearing from her when she gets the chance to check in. I am missing those rocking sessions with my baby grandson!

I hope all the roads have decent driving weather, and that you make the most of whatever comes your way. Coffee is waiting, so stop by and give us some words!

Good Morning Carol Soos and all that follow...
We are in the rain 'belt' for several days here in Clinton Township, Mi... Yesterday was a wonderful fall day... my granddaughter Joy and I sat and talked all afternoon... We will go to lunch today and then home to play a challenging game of Scrabble... there may be 4 to 6 of us so we will wait and see... My grandson Mark is so pumped about going to Columbia for the company he works for... he will set up the computer system... now if he finds a young woman that fits his style that would be great... he is 26 and not currently dating anyone... he is a very handsome young man so if there are any interesting young ladies out there send me your info and I will send it to him... ha ha ha what a hoot that would be...
I have so enjoyed finally visiting family even though it is fall... glad the summer is gone and I am feeling much better...
Carol good to know you and the driver will be on the road again... any idea where you will land for the winter?
Soos will be gone soon also... long drive...
I send each of you a great day even if the rain does fall...
Kathleen

Good Morning All,
Well, I am having morning coffee while I check emails, etc., then getting showered and on the road for a slow amble toward Arizona. For the first portion of the journey I will be following the "Immigrant Trail" and some of the "Pony Express" routes...I always love that kinda stuff.

Have to admit there is a certain amount of angst having just experienced a major breakdown and repair, but, one can't live in fear, actually, now the truck has some major new parts which makes it like new again, least that's what I am going to tell myself.

I am was glad to hear that Carol and The Driver are back on the road. I sure learned alot about Mexico that I didn't know before, just loved the photos.

And I wanted to say how beautiful little Orion is, even if he wasn't "beautiful" he's still so wonderful, but he just happens to be a beautiful little fellow. Like someone else said in a post about Orion, "A star is Born"...I thought that was very clever.

Appreciate any prayers my way, that the truck does well, I will be traveling for days in remote desert out in the middle of noweheresville. Have no choice. If I needed to call my Good Sam Emergency Roadside service they probably wouldn't take the call since they paid so much last time.

Good morning Carol, Soos, Kathleen, KD & everyone!

Carol, enjoy the first day of your winter journey!

Soos, I hope the rain stops so you & Molly can get some walks in.

Kathleen, I'm so glad you are feeling so much better and enjoying your visit with your family.

KD, like you said, you have so many new parts on your truck, think of it as driving a new vehicle. Have a safe trip and keep us posted as to where you are and what you're doing.

It's still morning on the east coast so I thought I'd stop in and say hello. We have a chance of severe storms later today but the temperatures are in the low 70's and the sun has peeked out from time to time.

Today is my Dad's 81st birthday. I just learned that his doctor appointment this morning went well and that in 3 weeks, he & Mom can go home. I can only imagine how anxious they are to go back to familiar surroundings.

Everyone on the road, please be careful. To everyone else, please take care and enjoy your day.

It's cool and windy here today too, my kind of day! I like the wind and the cooler weather. I had a busy morning, did hypnosis for weight loss with three people. I really like doing it and I should advertise a little, most of what I do is just word of mouth. This group surprised me though, they are from a town about 30 miles away. I happened to stop in a restaurant coming back from my trip to New Harmony IN and started talking to a man sitting at the table next to me, he had a big plate of fried food and said he really wasn't hungry but couldn't stop himself from eating it all. I said you need hypnosis & I'm the person that can help you, never thinking he would take me up on it but as I left he asked for my card. He made the appointment and brought two other ladies from his church with him, you just never know. He said, he didn't believe our meeting was a coincidence because he had been praying for a long time to be able to find a way to loose weight. I plan to follow up and see how he is doing. Wanting to is half the battle so I think he has a good chance at success.

Off to finish my chores, got a busy afternoon. Take care all! Glad to hear you and the driver are heading out today Carol, remember I'm in Southern Illinois and there a lots of interesting places and many wineries all with good music and food.
