We've been enjoying a long stretch (11 days) of beautiful Indian Summer weather here, but today looks like it's going to be the last one. A couple of storms that we are going to be inbetween are going to filter cooler air and possible showers starting tomorrow. Our fall color was spectacular this year but now is fading away. It came and went fast this year and with the expected winds on Friday, that will finish off the leaves for the most part.
Been great fall weather for camping and I was glad that I was able to get in at least 5 days of it. Had it not been for having to be at work last weekend for our HalloweenFest, I would have taken more time. But a few days were better than none. For those who came up to the festival or just to enjoy the fall colors, it was a grand weekend. Couldn't have asked for anything more perfect.
I've been busy around here these past few days getting things done while the weather is good. Was able to paint some wood ties I have around the border of my house, my mailbox post, my neighbors mailbox post and a couple of her outside light posts. She is a widow and can't do any of the outside work anymore as she is 82. I myself and another neighbor help her out. She vhas her home up for sale, so we are trying to help keep the place looking nice outside. Yesterday I winterized, washed and covered my TT for the winter. Waaaahhhhhh.
So today as soon as the grass dries I am going to cut mine and the neighbors for what is probably the last time this year. My nice neighbor across the road came over yesterday evening with his lawn tractor and vacum attachment and cleaned up all the fallen leaves in my yard and the neighbor next door. That was a pleasant surprise. I offered him some gas for his tractor but he said no. I think he was just doing it for something to do as he lost his job as a Manager for a building supply company who downsized and closed the warehouse here last January. His wife is on a waiting list for a heart and lung transplant, and they never know when a call might come, so he has to kind of stick close to home, if one does. They have to be at U of M hospital in 4 hours and it's over 250 miles from here.
That's about all that's going on here at the 45th at the moment. Hope that those of you who have lovely ffall colors are enjoying them this year. Those of youon the road are enjoying beautiful driving weather. And for the rest of you, have a wonderful day.
