SUNDAY WITH SUN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNDAY WITH SUN

Postby Nasoosie » Sun Sep 25, 2011 8:23 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Sunshine here again today, and relatively warm at 60 degrees already. There is a Local Living Festival going on just a litle way from here today, which is 5 dollars to enter and then a ton of presentations all day, including some bluegrass music for the lunch hour. Topics are all related to living independently and off the 'grids'-----I plan to go and see what they have to offer. The kids are spending the day at the hospital at a birthing class----if Joe lasts that long, that is!

Still mourning the loss of my litle Hope bear, as are all the thousands of Lily fans. It is like losing a family member, of sorts.

Hoping everyone has a good day wherever you are. I will read other posts later as I need to get going here now.

Oh my....Iust got back from the house to say goodbye to the kids, and Mandy was zipping up her hospital bag-----I asked her if she was having any contractions. She replied "some cramps." I THINK THIS IS IT! They are off to a birth class that might be an actual birth! She looked calm, but I could sense her uneasiness. I will stay at the house near the phone to learn if I need to head to the hospital, too. I have a feeling.....!

I'm excited for you, Soos.

Off to work here in a minute. Just wanted to mention that fall colors here got a start about a week ago - with a few more everyday. I need to start taking my camera out - some areas still totally green, but others have a mix of green, yellow, orange, reds. Love the colors.

Good luck with the waiting part, Soos. :? Beth I just made notice that the colors here in SW Ohio are just beginning to touch the tips of a few branches. I think all the rain has let the trees hold out a little longer than usual.

Oh Soos...hope it's the real thing and not Braxton Hicks contractions! Bet Mandy does too! If it is the real deal you'd better keep us updated and of course we want PICTURES...lots of pictures! Mandy and Joe are certainly slated to be in the right place today if she is in labor! And when the big moment arrives please don't go dancing around and break anything!

Don't know what my plans are for today. Certainly not going to be anything too strenuous.

dpf - I need some of that patience back!

Postby Anniepoo » Sun Sep 25, 2011 12:00 pm

Yesterday I drove down to Sunnyvale for a class. Leaving, the engine cranked over slowly, but started, so I went on with life.
Low gas - guess I'd pull in and get gas...
And I'm a tad short on the pump, I try to pull forward.... engine won't crank.... oh, fooey and fum!
The not-overly-honest-seeming mechanic looks at it (by a miracle I was at a real service station, and they were open at 6pm on a saturday). We open the hood, the battery's at an angle, and dead (it was tied in with bungie cords... I'm a Kansan, what can I say) He's got a battery, we put it in, he checks the alternator's charging.... oh fudge... it's not....
He assures me I can probably get to Tech Shop on the battery, so I drive back to Tech Shop praying I don't die along the road (the sun went down during the drive, raising my stress level).

8cP dpf - I need that patience you borrowed back.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.

Good afternoon from Michigan! We made it fine and I am at my daughter Gwen's. We saw my daughter Jackie's house she was so fortunate to get a foreclosure. The loss of cleaning lots of work and I can't do anything to help but I can give moral support.
I thought I would check in to let you know that I'm fine we made it here Friday late afternoon.
I hope you are all having a good day,

Morning! (still AM here in the Fall-like PNW)

Started raining during the night. Forecast is for highs in the 70s w/rain, supposedly ending on Wednesday. It's very Fall-like and Halloweenish out there. Love it....so far. :?

Marda and I have our fingers crossed they are right as we have reservations at a CG for W-Fri. We held off getting
reservations, looking ahead at the weather, but finally just decided to 'go for it'. Hopefully my friend, Jeannette,
can meet up with us, too.

Yep, these last couple weeks have our maples turning a beautiful red in my neighborhood. My potted flowers on the patio decided to die off, so I assume they know it's time. I've also decided to put away all my patio furniture yesterday. Would rather do it when it's dry instead of waiting to do it in the cold and rain and putting it up wet.

Speaking of yesterday. My 2 GDs were in the Missoula Children's Theatre play at school. My youngest was a flying monkey in the Wizard of Oz last year. This year they both tried out for Cinderella. The youngest was a mouse and the 11 yr old was one of the ladies dancing at the ball. They both missed a week of soccer practice and games, but thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was great fun to watch. They were casted on Monday, put the play on on Saturday, so it was allot crammed in in less than a week.

Got an email from my military son. He's embedded with the Filipino Marines again on one of their islands. They had a skirmish yesterday outside the high school. 6 injured, 2 fatal. Al Qaeda is still working hard to infiltrate the schools there. Trying to recruit high school boys. Of course we never hear about any of this on our news. The BBC covers it well.

Continued prayers for Sarah's sister and for Mitch's George. Also praying traveling mercies to all of you on the highways and byways.

How exciting Soos!! Hope you all do fine :D

It has rained all day fairly hard and most of yesterday, enough already. I have been fighting my printer and I think it has won. Looking forward tonight to the season premier of The Good Wife, it's on at the same time as Desperate Housewives but by the end of the season last year it had gone downhill so much I don't think I'll miss it. Also wondering how the new show Pan Am will turn out.

FALSE ALARM! Dang! Not Braxton Hicks contractions, but real cramps, is how she described them. But they stopped, so home they came after the class. Joe will go back to work at my house area again tomorrow, and Mandy and I will just wait and wait some more! I cleaned the house for them today, vacuumed, did dishes, and put the rocking chair together. It is nice and comfy. All is ready for the little creature to make his appearance!

As they told me a 'few' years ago, the uterus is practicing. I was past my expected date with my daughter...decided to take 'Castor Oil' in the morning..had a beautiful daughter at 4:00 the next morning! Of course I was in the bathroom from 2PM until labor started at 9PM. No enema needed :D
