SECOND SPETEMBER 2011 DAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SECOND SPETEMBER 2011 DAY

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Sep 02, 2011 8:01 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's a cloudless, glorious morning here in the Adirondacks, and already 66 degrees out there! The lack of bird songs at dawn announces the fact that summer is pretty much winding down here, and the pitch darkness at about 8:00 pm now is a definite clue that we are fast approachig the fall equinox. I hope to get home here from FL earlier next year to enjoy more of Spring, but this year's spring was not conducive to being outside what with tons of melting snow, mud, and constant rain.

Direct TV techie will arrive today between noon and 4 pm (love their narrow times, eh?!) to move my dish to a safer spot in the yard. This morning I will spend at the pond, winterizing the leanto and bringing my stuff back up here for winter storage.

I still have to call the RV dealers to set up an appointment to get my trailer inspected and the water system winterized. I am hoping to be able to do that on my way north to my daughter's house for the month of September while she is absorbed in the "nesting mode" awaiting the birth of my first grandchild! With me and Molly in the trailer, they can have their alone time to prepare for the life-changing event, and, when Joe is back here working on a good job, I can be close by if she should need me.

Need to get moving here, so come on in and have some hot coffee and cold pizza from last night's supper....we love to hear from you all! I hope to get a last swim in my pool this afternoon! I hope you all are having a good camping time somewhere, or a fun family time, or both!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Soos... our temperature is already in the 80s and will top out in the low 100s later today most likely by noon with probably a heat index of 110... And we thought summer was winding down... When I drove by the cornfields last week they were totally brown I don't think it's a good year for crops at least not here in this area not enough rain to support things... Yesterday Shadow wanted out but it was so hot I told you no I'm sure he would've cooked in a short time...
I hope you all have a wonderful day,

Good morning everyone!

I just got finished, finally, catching up with welcomes on the Intro thread. Wow, it's great to have so many new members. Hope you can all make a future GTG to meet some of us.

It's another beautiful day here in NW NY. Carold and I have been playing PM tag, trying to arrange a gtg since we are so close. Hopefully it will happen before I head toward PA on Monday. This is a nice peaceful cg where I am staying this week. Open, wooded sites. WiFi and good cell phone & TV reception makes it a good place to get caught up with things on here, business, and family connections too.

There's a 5th wheel across from me with 2 beautiful Goldens outside. Which reminds me that Roe would like to go for a walk. So wishing everyone a safe and fun day.

Some clouds here today - but a beautiful day tempwise. My rv got washed yesterday so is feeling spiffy. Peaches got a bath - not sure that makes her feel spiffy. She gives me a look like is this really necessary? Funny how she loves water but would avoid her baths. Bird feeders got filled. Laundry done. Inside vacuumed. Yesterday was such a busy day that I couldn't drag myself out of bed this morning  Will be working the aft/eve shift today through Sunday for the full park here.

Liz, try to talk Carold and hubby into the trip here. There are still a couple spots open. Would love to see them again. And Irmi's husband will be here - so it's not quite all women :) But I do hope you manage to gtg.

Hope everyone is having a great day and has a wonderful, relaxing holiday weekend - where ever you are!

It's afternoon now and I'm bored, it is supposed to be near 100 today so I won't be going anywhere. I look forward to my afternoon read at my favorite coffee shop, even if it gets crowded and loud I can totally block it out. Guess it comes from sharing an office when I was working.
Mitch will be so proud of me, I added my still nameless RV to my signature. Send that cool air on down!! We could use some rain too, just not too much please.

We will be having a cool front come through on Saturday. I can't wait. The temps should be around 85, which was our evening low temp during most of August. The beginning of the week will also be in the mid 80s. There will be some rain, but I don't think we will see any of that. We will have temps in the 100s until then. Will be spending some time outside for a change.

All you Gulf Coast state ladies, you are getting a tropical depression that is slow moving and should dump around 10 to 20 inches of rain in your areas. (At least that was the report last night) Do stay dry and drive carefully if in the area. I hope this doesn't cause flooding or worsen already saturated areas.

Lower Michigan is hot, but amazingly green because of all the rain we have had this summer. Was cooler for a few days, but we are back to unseasonable 90s today. Supposed to have that cold front move in and cool things down a bit. This has been the hottest summer on record for us, and we mostly do not like the heat.

I did notice that the burning bush and a couple of trees are starting to show just a tinge of color, so fall color should not be too far off. Fall is usally the best time of year for us with sunny days and mild temps.

I am just finishing one semester, and starting another very soon. New textbook and have to learn new software, which is going to be difficult considering the almost no time between semesters--not even a full week, which I will have to use to get everything set online. Thing about teaching online is that you have to do almost everything except grading papers weeks and months ahead of time. No winging it, as you can do in a classroom because everything has to be programmed. I have help with that, but getting their time is sometimes rough, so it will be an interesting semester. Just remembered I have to get two tests ready to be programmed, and I don't even know from my chair what the reading assignments are going to be. (I try to keep online class similar to classroom versions so students cannot complain.)

Got a call about a potential used motorhome, but it is just a triffle small and with no chair. Not quite ready to buy yet anyway.

Glad to have a 3-day weekend to finish some papers and catch up on sleep! Whew!
