RABBITS Sept. 1st Monday!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

A bit cloudy today, but nice and warm at 71 degrees. I have so much to do before I haul this trailer to Mandy's for the month of September so she can be "alone" in her own house, yet have someone nearby if she needs anything in a hurry. Joe has to work here for a long time, which is a good thing, as they need the income, but it's hard for him to be away for this last month of her pregnancy. She wants to be near her doc and hospital.

Direct TV will come tomorrow to move the dish from where it's been precariously perched on the deck railing (tied down with one of those canvas ratchet straps by me) to the yard, now that the two giant balsam trees have been taken down allowing a view of the satellites necessary.

I need to make an appointment to get the trailer inspected, and my truck serviced before I leave for FL in another couple of months. Leanto stuff will be brought back today and packed away for another year. I need to buy tarps for the paddleboat and my motorcycle. Old trailer I will attempt to back into the shelter for the winter----when no one is around to listen to me scream obscenities! Need to pack away the garage sale items for another year---we ran out of time this year. Cabin at the pond is ready to be winterized and closed up, but Wiley will have to do that as he has all the equipment and knows what to do. Kids have all their stuff from there out and refrigerator has been shut off. Need to call the house alarm system guy to come and change batteries and renew my contract for another year....that paid for itself when the washer overflowed on July 4th holiday and would have totally flooded the basement had it not been for the water sensor on the floor down there. Let's see----what have I forgotten?? I will actually be glad to get to Mandy's where all this home stuff is out of my reach! Oh yes----have the porta potty picked up next Tuesday when the guy comes. Doctor appointments will have to wait for another year, I guess.

Hope all is well with everyone, and that you all are findng fun things to do!

Good Morning.
This afternoon is the first follow-up appointment with doctor for sister since latest hospital release. Hopefully this will be an uneventful trip and we will learn more. The anti-seizure meds seem to be working as she has not had more. Still not eating much.

The tree service stayed late yesterday to finish up work here. I now have much less money and a few less trees. Except for destroying a flower bed and a fe foundation shrubs, the job was flawless. After watching them swing around in the trees for two days and seeing the skill they used in getting whole trees and limbs down without damaging the house, I'll have to admit they earned the money. I didn't think to get camera out until they were almost finished and the shots I did get do not really show the difficulty of the tasks they had. Will share a couple of photos anyway.

This one shows worker in a white oak that had to be severely trimmed (look close and you can see where he has already cut some of the limbs

Same worker going higher to get another limb over house

Next task, deal with roofer and go thru a two week stack of mail and pay bills.
I really need a trip. Jealous of those of you lucky enough to be on the road. I will stay close to home thru the holiday weekend; too many crazy drivers out there when holidays roll around.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.

Forgot to say Rabbits this morning!
Just down at the office using their wifi before heading to the new place with a car load of stuff. Then I pick up the cargo van tonight and get that all loaded up tomorrow.

There was just a 4.2 earthquake in north Los Angeles. Didn't feel it up here. Laura might have down her way. No damage, just a little shaker. I've been out here for almost a year now and still haven't felt one. I might be more likely to feel one when I am closer to San Diego.

Have a good day!

I hope the move goes well for you Barbie take it easy in the heat. Sarah I bet it was interesting to watch the tree trimmers at work. I know how you feel I hate to have even a small branch cut. Thanks for the pictures. Soos, you seem to have gone into high speed since you got back I think Florida relaxes you. It's really hot here, supposed to be near 100 until Sunday when a cold front is coming wish it would hurry!!
