WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Aug 10, 2011 8:32 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Alternate sun and clouds this morning here, and a cool 64 degrees. Breakfast is coffee and fresh blueberry cobbler I baked last night. I found a spot where there are still a lot of berries ripe for the picking, and will go back there today between the scattered rain showers they are predicting. I also need to get my daily quota of a pint of raspberries that ripen each day. Mandy will make raspberry jam with those I have frozen.

It's time for me to tackle killing the hornets in the shelter so I can get that spiffied up for the upcoming Ruckus. I did manage to sneak in there and get the lawn mower yesterday before the rain, so the lawn is looking good. Gotta remember tonight at dusk to shoot the nest. I hate to do it, as they have been so industrious, but it's either them or us. Still, it makes me feel sad.

Have a happy day wherever you may be everybody.

Happy travels!

Morning, Soos, and everyone else yet to awaken.

I, too, have a hornets nest. It's under my eaves in the back of the house. I have hornet spray, but am in no shape to be able to run after spraying it down. I have also seen many small paper nests laying on the ground around the edge of the house this summer. Even one in the inside of my shed. Luckily it fell before they could actually move in.

The cobbler sounds yummy. I see my favorite u-pick blueberry place is now open. The news has reported that the berries are a month behind because of our cold, wet Spring and beginning of the Summer.

Speaking of weather. We didn't get out of the 60s yesterday. The marine layer has been sticking around till mid afternoon before the sun finally burns it off but we are also getting arctic air from the north so the breeze is frigid. My furnace is running right now. We are to get up into the low 80s by the weekend, but we are still way below normal.

Got my replacement iPad yesterday. I was having problems with it staying connected to my 3G data plan. It would work for a minute, then I'd get a "no service". Took it to an ATT store and they said it was a problem with the iPad and to call Apple. I called them on Sunday and got the replacement delivered yesterday, Tuesday. The broken one is now sitting on my front porch, ready for pickup with FedEx. The new one is working seamlessly.

Continued prayers for all those suffering within our group and also friends and family.

Good morning everyone!

Soos, please be careful spraying the hornets. You don't want to be stung again.

Lenora, you sure have had a long spring. Hopefully it'll warm up for you this weekend.

It's a beautiful day on the eastern shore of MD. There was a cold front that moved through yesterday evening which dropped the temperatures and humidity levels. Although the skies were dark all around us and we saw a few flashes of lightning, we didn't get any rain. Hopefully others did.

I don't have any weekend plans yet. I may reserve another half bushel of steamed crabs while the prices are still reasonable and sit out in the gazebo picking them for some crab dishes.

I hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.

good morning from a cooler normal. Our temps got into the 60s last night and will be in the 70s today wonderful break from the awful heat! Now add a little rain and things will be happy here.

Shadow brought in a hitchhiker last night! It jumped off from him and ran fast, under the clock I am not sure what it was but it may have been a spider. He got so afraid that he ran into the bedroom jumped on the bed and didn't get off. I never did find whatever it was.

Oh that cobbler sounds wonderful! Put it in the microwave get a cup of coffee and enjoy! I echo the same thing about the Hornets be careful to!

Have a great day everyone,

Soos, you are gonna turn into a Smurf pretty soon, eating all those blueberrries!

It was cloudy this morning but is burning off now. It is only 59 right now. Was great sleeping weather with the window open. Will only be in the mid 80's today but back into the 90's by the weekend. Will be nice living in a little cooler area. (right outside the bedroom window at the new place is a little pond with a waterfall, so that will be wonderful to listen to). There are lots of little manmade ponds, creeks and waterfalls all over throughout the complex with cute little bridges going over the creeks. Lots of palm trees and hybiscus bushes all over. Very pretty and tropical looking!)

I accepted the job offer and will drive back down to Poway to secure the apartment tomorrow. I will give my 3 week notice at work on Friday. I am also planning to have a small garage sale in a couple weeks to get rid of a few things before I move. Gonna see if my neighbor downstairs wants to get in on it with me.

We weren't as busy yesterday at work as we thought, being the day before school starts. I worked from 10 until 5. But then they called me at 7pm and said they got slammed with customers at the last minute and needed help, so I went back and worked another hour or so to get them caught up. I have tomorrow off and will go back down to Poway to get things settled with the new place.

There is a small lake (reservior) less than a mile from where I will be working and there are no houses around it, just trees and such. There is also a wide path going all around it for walking, jogging, biking, etc that is 5 miles around. You can also rent kayaks and paddleboats there. There are picnic tables in various spots along the lake too. The photos I've seen are very pretty. Sounds like a great place to spend some time!

Have a great day and those of you in the oppressive heat, stay cool!!!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

A wonderful Wednesday it is. We had quite a thunder and lightning show last night, with much needed rain. Even after a few hours of no electricity overnight , I will not complain (too much). We are now off the excessive heat warning, watch and advisory. YIPPEEEEEE!!!! We have been on the list ,in the warning category, for the last 3 weeks. The temps will be 99, so nice to break that 100 mark. Never thought I would be so excited about 99 degree temps. :D Vickie, hopefully this weather will reach you with its cooling temps and lesser humidity. Now we see how long it lasts.

Take care all you traveling sistahs. Stay safe and cool. Linda

Checking in late.

lrmi, I had to laugh - I read everybody's post pretty quick, and read your advice as

"Soos, please be careful praying for hornets. You don't want to be stung again."

I probably don't spend enough time praying for hornets. Do hornets have souls?

I'm late checking in because I was industrious Annie this morning. Got up, went in Wally world and got some clothes and groceries. I'm going to a convention this weekend for my virtual world. My avatar wears an orange hard hat there, so I went looking for a hard hat. Couldn't find orange, bought a yellow one and spray paint.
Was also going to make a T shirt with my company logo on it, but decided that was just going to be too big a project.

BF and I are making a gizmo for filmmakers, I picked up some plastics supplies for that, and then grabbed (I was bad) a nice rancher steak breakfast at a local cafe.
Now I'm back at Tech Shop - a do-it-yourself club place. You pay for a membership, they have tables and places to work and lots and lots of expensive tools (for example, they have an industrial sewing machine, computerized embroidery machine, serger, etc.). I need a place to sit and computate for work, this is a good way to get one relatively cheaply. I actually park the Rv outside, run electrical power, and pick up the wifi many days.

So, that's my slightly crazed errand running day, and why I'm checking in late.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.
