Good morning everyone! I've got nectarines, some yogurt & yummy granola for breakfast. No coffee for me -- too hot.

It's going to be a hot one here -- our first real summer heat & just in time for the holiday weekend. Sitting at the base of a canyon that leads up to the mountains we're going to be flooded with people heading up to try & find cooler weather & play in the San Gabriel River. At some point they'll close the roads because of the crowds & then people try to picnic on our grassy areas. It's quite a scene. We end up with the police stationed here to keep the masses manageable. Happens during the 3 big weekends of the year -- Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.

I'll be hanging out inside with Jed, enjoying my AC. It's just too hot to go very far & the crowds are nuts. But I've "found" cross-stitch again after a 5+ year hiatus and am having a blast. I'd put it away when I got Jed for fear of him finding a needle. But now that he's all grown up & settled down I can enjoy it again.

This evening I'm going to a friend's house to participate in a cooking class she's trying out. She's a gourmet cook & has decided to share her knowledge with her friends. So for a small price she's going to show us how to cook different things, with the end result being a nice meal and some new recipes. I'm going to be supportive & get a good dinner. :)

Other than that it's going to be quiet around her today. I hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

The lake is as smooth as glass. Hoping for a delicious fried trout dinner....I am told they are out there but so far they aren't biting; lake is still too high, but has gone down somewhat...maybe today is the day!

A Good Day to All!
