Last Sunday in June!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Sunday in June!

Postby Irmi » Sun Jun 26, 2011 9:57 am

Good morning ladies!

It's almost 11:00 and everyone must be busy traveling or preparing to travel, so I have brunch ready. You may choose from steamed shrimp, sliced ham, fruit and assorted breads & croissants.

We were on our way home from shopping this morning when my brother called to tell me our father had fallen and the ambulance was taking him to the hospital. He has regained consciousness and is being taken in for a CAT scan. A few prayers and good vibes would be appreciated.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon with my sister at Kernan Rehabilitation in Baltimore. She has a nasty gadget with bolts attached to her foot and shin to keep her foot immobile. We took Italian subs for all of us to have for lunch and all in all, we had a good visit with lots of laughs. I'm glad we went to see her.

I'm taking off from work tomorrow to stay with my Mom and do whatever she needs, whether it's taking her to the hospital or preparing meals for her. Fortunately, my sister & BIL from FL were in the house when everything happened this morning and they'll be staying until Tuesday, so until Dad gets home from the hospital, Mom will be well taken care of.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all! Cool and overcast this morning after an early a.m thunderstorm. My last union meeting is in a little bit. I've been waiting for years for these last events and now they are here! :D :D
Irmi, sorry to hear about your dad's accident. Here's hoping he recovers quickly. Those incidents are very scary. Cheryl

Good morning from sunny and hot Tucson, Az! Can't post pictures 'cause the net is to slow here, but we've been having a great time in spite of the heat. We've been to the Children's Museum (which was geared to a little younger than my 2, but they maintained well), the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich ranch where the girls got to feed ostrich's, deer and burros. The Highlight of that trip was hand feeding the lorikeets. Cost me an extra 5 bucks for lorikeet nectar, but the girls were having such a good time I couldn't say no. And of course, the Dairy Queen on the other side of the freeway was popular, too! Yesterday was the Sonora Desert Museum....we made it thru with only 1 breakdown, youngest GD took one look at the bats in the entrance to the cave and and spent the whole time clinging to me saying she was scared. Sigh. Today was supposed to be Collossal Cave, GD #2 is saying she's scared and doesn't want to go. Evie to the rescue, she doesn't really want to do a cave either, so she is going to watch GD #2 while GD #1 and I go to see the cave. We'll be heading home tomorrow, it's just way to hot here, and I think the girls are ready. Evie's reefer took a dump, so she's anxious to head home, too. It's hard for her to have all of her food over here.

Hope your dad is OK Irmi, good vibes headed your way. Hope everyone else stays cool and comfortable.

Irmi, too much is happening - with your sister and now your father. I hope his fall did no damage and he gets right back home. Good thoughts heading his and your way. Also, tell your hubby that after getting home from Gettysburg and finishing the book I was reading, I reached in my bag of books and pulled out the Robert B book "Shrink Wrap" - part of the Sunny Randall series. Don't think I'd read one of this series before, but thought of him as soon as I pulled the book out. I toss books in here and don't have a clue what I have sometimes. :)

Sharon, I'm glad you're having fun in spite of the heat. Have you gone up Mt Lemmon? It might give you some respite from the heat. And the girls might like Old Tucson - but doubt there's time now. Sorry to hear of Evie's fridge. Hope it's not major.

I've got about a dozen birds at and near my birdfeeders right now. I could just sit for hours and watch them. And sometimes do. It's why I often get nothing done and wonder where the day went :) Like yesterday morning I intended to run into town to get my mail (took a PO Box for the summer) but time got away from me - as I had to be there before noon. Will have to go after work Monday. If I remember before it gets too late. Ah, lol, most things can wait, can't they?

Irmi, your brunch sounds yummy. I haven't eaten breakfast so trying to wait for lunch. Hope your dad is ok.

Sharon, we took my son and a friend to Carlsbad Caverns when they were about 9 and 11. They were afraid but went anyway. They were underwhelmed to say the least. I had gone as a senior in high school and thought it was great. I didn't get to go many places as a kid and I had hauled my kids all over by then. I hope girls are not as into buying rocks as boys were. My youngest favorite places were gift shops. We lost him at the Grand Canyon and found him in the gift shop. In high school he wanted to take a road trip out west. I told him "Look buddy, you had your chance".

No plans for today. Need to make a list of things to bring to the lake for next weekend. It is 40 miles to Wal-Mart when we are up there so don't want to be running to the store. I have a small inflatable boat somewhere in all our junk. If I can find it I might bring it.

good morning ladies, where did the morning go? guess I spent too much time playing around on the computer that I just lost track kof time. Getting dressed now and gotta call daughter, maybe go get the dog instead of her bring her over. Have to dog sit tonight.
The girls will be happy with that and once again I'll get no sleep cause they think they have to play on the bed all night long.
 Another doggy slumber party
Always wanted to stop at the ostrich farm down there on the way to Tucson, but everytime I went past there it was closed
Enjoy your day everybody, gotta go to work after lunch.

Good Morning from cloudy Normal... will be 80 today and in the 90s the rest of the week... I just got home from church... boy it scares me I am so weak... guess the infection took more out of me than I had thought...
My daughter Margie asked me to lunch yesterday... the guys had gone to Chicago to some kind of car show... she made shish kebobs with chicken potatoes sausage and pineapple and brown rice then home made strawberry pie... so good and so good to be out and about... I got my hair cut before I came home...
The rest of this day will be lazy for me...
Irmi so sorry about your dad... he is in my prayers... very glad someone was there when he fell...
Oh Sharon when I owned and operated an adult foster care home I got tired and needed a break... my daughter Margie and I took a vacation... we went to Mackinac Island and stayed in a room there for several days... we were walking under some trees at sunset and oh my we did know that that is when bats fly... there were thousands of them... we of course screamed and ran as fast as we could to get out of there! Caves can be very scary especially when there are bats...
Have a great day everyone... that fruit sounded good to me...

Atfernoon travel pals!
Irmi, hope all is well with your Dad by now...

I finished my morning mowing shift. Getting close to done.
My Dad has the DR now working around his garden. Tomatoes
are ripe all ready and many squash. :)

I've been on anti biotic twice recently for dental problem and
ended up with IUT symptoms. Does that happen?!? Going to
store for cranberry juice soon!

Sharon, hope GD likes the cave. I had a blast at Carlsbad. Want
to go back. Check out "Frost" in Tucson for a cool gelato treat.
And it's next door to Trader Joe. :)

Sorry to hear about Evie's frig!

Going into town now. Have a nice Sunday afternoon!
