WHERE HAS JUNE GONE???

GOOD MORNING ALL!

As for yesterday morning and most of the day yesterday, my internet service was out, and I called Verizon to have that restored. I guess the whole area had an outage, and it came back on in the afternoon-----very happy to get reconnected!

I finally got my leaky water connectors fixed, thanks to the neat new RV dealers about 3 miles from me, in downtown Vermontville! First, they got me two new washers which I tried, and those didn';t work any better. So I determined it was the screw-on connectors themselves that were leaking. I returned the washers, and the night before last they ordered a replacement section of hose with new connectors. They called me last night to come pick it up! Talk about fast service! I installed it (on my back with headlamp on, under bathroom sink----one connector facing one way, and the other facing the other way----and in this upside-dwon and backwards position, I had to re-program my brain the pertinent version of "left-loosey, righty-tighty" PRESTO! No leaking, so I now have a good water hookup in the trailer! I can attach a length of sewer pipe and run the grey water down the hill away from the well, and have hot water for dishes, hand-washing, tooth brushing, showers, baths, whatever. I was very excited to get that chore done.

Less than a week now before the family begins to arrive----I pick up Goog and Melissa at Plattsburgh Airport Friday. I sure hope to have everything in this house and in both trailers and the party barn and the shelter all spiffied up and shipshape by then! I made a lot of progress yesterday. If it stops raining long enough, this lawn needs another mowing, of course. Nice, slow, steady rain, however----no gully-washers and no lightning storms yet, anyway.

Coffee is hot and hazlenut, so stop by and talk to us for a bit!

wow Soos, you certainly have been busy. Here's hoping you get it all done with time to spare.
Not much doing in my part of the world, just routine chores and off to work this evening.
Last night when I got home, sons friend was up on the roof working on the swamp cooler, seems
it needs new bearings (or bushings, whatever they call them) He oiled it and it was back on
before I went to bed but need to get to Home Depot to buy new ones. Hope they aren't
expensive as we're on a tight budget for the next 4 weeks, but we can make do as everything
is managed for July. So glad to be able to do it all a month ahead, sure keeps the stress level
down.
Time for another cup of coffee, check my emails and facebook and then gotta get busy.
Have a great day everybody and be safe.

I'd also like to know where June has gone. Time is just flying by way too quickly! Today marks the start of my 4th month here at LIW - hardly seems possible. One of them was asking me to reconsider coming back next year. I'm so torn. I want to go west - my heart is west. But my heart is also here as I love these people and this park. I doubt I'll stay, but I'll have to be very careful when they bring it up. I often make commitments in the spur of the moment. And when I do, I follow through with them. Sooooo... it's going to be difficult to keep saying no. I figure it'll settle itself by the end of the season. I mean, just the thought that I'm considering it ....

And now, to watch the birds and read a book. Life is soooooooo difficult :)

Good morning everyone. Beautiful day here in Oregon. Sunny and 77 is the forecast. That's good because I have to mow my lawn today. I also need to "fix" the front yard after a neighbor decided to have a little fun on his riding lawn mower and mow my front yard. Unfortunately, he cut it too short and pretty much just did circles so it looks horrible. I didn't say anything because he is quite old and has had a stroke so there really isn't any point. Needless to say, I was NOT happy when I came home from work and saw it.

The bright side is that I won't have to worry about it much longer. I listed my house a little over 2 weeks ago so I could move back to Salem. I just can't afford the gas for the 60 mile round trip commute anymore. The great news is that I sold my house this week and found a great apartment to move to so I am a happy camper! I will be moving the middle of July.

On another note, Oregonluvr (Karen) and I are leaving Saturday for another fun road trip!!! Yippee! Viva Las Vegas! I am SO ready for a vacation. It will be a busy couple of weeks for me with the vacation and moving. Work is pretty busy too so the time is just flying by for me as well.

I'm also looking forward to the gtg in Bandon in August!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Laura

Laura, very good news on your front. I know you loved that house, but I would hate commuting so far and with the gas, etc, it sure would be difficult. It's a testament to your making that place a beautiful home that it sold so quickly! I hope you will be happy as can be in your new-to-you apt in Salem. I like Salem - always enjoy visiting there (particulary in July and August when you see the most amount of sun :)

Enjoy your road trip. I know you two always do.

Congratulations on such a quick sell, Laura! Quite a feat in this economy...
I can't believe you're off on a trip and you're moving in just about three weeks!
But good for you! What optimism!

How fortunate, Laura, that you were able to sell your house so quickly and found an apartment. Now you can relax and really enjoy your trip with Karen!

Glad the sale went thru, Laura and now you can move into the apt and not spend so much on gas. Know you're going to have fun with Karen in LV. Should we save some of the bailout $$ ? June is definitely flying by. We're now at Mount Rainier and will decide tomorrow am where to go from here or spend another day. This is not our first time here; use to come when tGM was stationed in Tacoma. Still a fantastic place. Seems like everyone is busy either traveling, planning to travel or taking care of things at home. Off to finish fixing dinner. carold
