Fridday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fridday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Fri Jun 17, 2011 5:31 am

Good Morning everyone,

Coffee is ready, or I have tea or hot chocolate if you prefer. And cinnamon rolls as well. Quick and simple breakfast this morning.

A bit of a cloudy mornng here at the 45th. Just getting ready to head off for work in a short here, so making a quick stop. A bit busy at the park now. Reservations are picking up now that schools are out and we have a big air show here in Gaylord this weekend too. Plus it's Fathers Day weekend.

I'm busy making camping reservations for myself too. Just booked a site in my park for next weekend and one for Aloha State Park the weekend after the 4th. Well, actually they are for Sunday and Monday nights as those are my days off. We always have sites open at our park for those coming in off the road as they are held off the reservation system, but I wanted this other one down in the south campground so decided to book it so I can make sure I get it. After I finish up with the trip to Aloha, I will decide where I will go on the next trip. I've never had any problem getting reservations at the parks I want to go to. One just has to stay away from the holiday weekends.

So I am off and heading out the door here. Have a wonderful day all.

Last day of sixth grade for my gd! She's excited. Supposed to head out next week to take her to spend the summer with her dad in Houston, but freight liner still has my rig! Maybe they will finish up today and I can go get her tomorrow morning? I'm hoping. I truly believe that this rig was built on "lemon day"! And though there has been nothing major, this last one could have been catastrophic. Needless to say, that causes a lot of stress, and stress isn't what rving is supposed to be about! So, guess I'm going to reconsider trading her in on something smaller and hopefully not built on lemon day! That said, I've decided to take the title with me out to Houston and do some looking while I'm out there. And if I find that rig, I'm trading right there on the spot!

Glad to see that the group shot of the gtg was posted. Can't wait for Liz to tell her side of the story, and everyone else too! I hated not being able to stay for the whole event. Hopefully school won't get in the way of next years event!

Congrats are in order for Lori and Ernie too, as they will take possession of their new 5th wheel at the end of the month! I'm excited for them.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a pleasant weekend.

Morning ladies. Sounds like a lot of you are getting on the road. Will have to check out the new pix of the gtg in PA. I hope to get to one of those gtg late this summer or in the fall.

Visited my primary care doc yesterday to follow up on the the er visit and he was great. He calmed my fears about the blood clot issues but he did suggest that going to a damp, rainy climate like London while struggling with bronchitis might not be the best plan. Besides, he wants me back in 5 days to listen to my lungs again so now big trip for me. Maybe next year.

It's stormy here today but weather is supposed to clear here tomorrow after lunch. Hoping that my lungs are clear enough to let me go out on the kayak by Sunday. I really need some paddle time on the water. BTW, thanks to Liz for mentioning cleaning the kayak. I have a Sea Eagle inflatible kayak and after reading her post (I think it was Liz) last week about possible mildew I got mine out and inflated it and yes, there were some places so I got out the bathroom cleaner and scrubbed away. All is well now and you can bet I'll be more careful to avoid going through that again.

Think I'll try some of that breakfast bar now. Have a great day!

Good morning from Durango, Colorado. Beautiful, uneventful drive, but when we pulled in, I realized I didn't have any power. Started messing with everything, replacing fuses, checking the battery, inverter, calling upon help from a kind neighbor and the owner of the campground. The local mechanic didn't want to come out because he said it sounded "too serious" to fix on site and I would need to drive to a Jayco dealer to have it fixed. I loaded up the fridge with ice (it wouldn't even switch over to propane) and got out the candles and flashlights. Then, in the middle of the night I thought What about the battery disconnect switch? What if someone accidentaly pushed it while messing with the other stuff? Well, that was it. This morning I pushed the slide-out (nice with two people and two dogs to have that extra room) and turned on the fridge. So, I don't have to "rough it" today. ;)

We have a site right along the train tracks. Beautiful country. I'll send photos as soon as I take some.

Happy Friday!

Good morning everyone!

It's nice being able to stay in touch with the outside world again, but being with Lori, Ernie & the others that were able to attend the GTG in PA was worth being without cellphone & internet service.

We are in a "local to us" campground about 45 minutes from our house and since I'm still on vacation, we decided to spend the next few days camping. Right now the sun is shining, but we have a chance of showers later on in the day.

I'll be putting a roast in the crockpot in a bit for our dinner. Enjoy your day everyone!

Nothing much today, have to go over to the BF's house, he has an appt. to get his throat stretched. He has to have it done about once a year. He has scar tissue from acid reflux and when it gets bad anything he swallows won't go down. He has to have a driver as they put him out for the procedure. Happened last week and it was 2 days before he got "un-stuck" and could eat or drink. Poor guy!

Busy getting things ready for the trip to Tucson with the GD's. Been a while since Hope has been out, so lots to do. Her facelift is finished and as soon as I get time I'll post pictures. She sure is bootyfull now! Love love love the new floor and I think it will be easier to care for than carpet.

@Amy...LOL! I remember when I was an apprentice they sent me out on a refrigerator that wasn't working. So I get there and look inside and the evaporator fan isn't running. YAY! I get to change a fan! What fun! I get to use my tools! These are big reach-in fridges, not like a house one. So I drive back to the shop, grab a fan, all excited 'cause I get to fix something and patting myself on the back 'cause I figured out what it was right off the bat and totally relieved that it wasn't something complicated that I would have been completely lost on! Get back, pull the fridge out to unplug it, and.....it's not plugged in! Duhhhh! Did I happen to notice that there was also no light on it? Heck no! That's when I learned the word KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid! You'll learn, we all do!

So now, before I head out I've got to go figure out why the fridge in Hope won't light. KISS, KISS, KISS and hope it is something simple!

Ya'll have a good day!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Hope Paulette either gets a perfectly repaired RV, or comes back with a new one!

Amy found/remembered a possible cure for no power, and PRESTO! She hit it on the head!

Hope that Horizon gets all better soon----I think it was a wise decision to postpone that London trip. Bronchitis can be very dibilitating and exhausting.

It's a cool, damp morning here in the Adirondacks today, with drizzling showers. In between, it's not too bad out there.

I finished mowing the lawn again yesterday evening, after bugging up against deerflies that were voracious----as bad as I have ever seen them, especially at this early date in the season. Today I need to see if I can clear out the area in the RV shelter in my yard to get the old trailer out and parked in a usable spot for the summer. I just hope my screen room won't be in the way of my doing this. If it is, I guess Mandy and I can unstake it and move it out of the way.

Watching the Anthony trial again, hearing the defense trying to disprove the validity of the prosecutors' arguments. Very interesting to see how our court system works.

Time to head into the house to see what Mandy wants to tackle today----either the trailer first, or the cellar de-stuffing of her bedroom down there.

Happy Friday, all!

I had a similar experience with my AC in my condo. My condenser is in downstair neighbor's garage. Neither of us could get our AC to work, so called the repair guy who walked in a flipped what we thought was a light switch behind a shelf full of stuff. Ta-dah!

Turned out he had thrown some stuff on the shelf and turned them off accidently. He is more careful now.

Turned in grades last night so I can relax for a couple of weeks. Really, really, really need to clean my condo because I have let stuff go lately. Nice to have at least a small break. Getting too old for all of this work.

Paulette, if you come across Louisiana on I-10, don't forget Carolyn, Vickie and I are all not that far off I-10.

Look up PPLMotorhomes.com in Houston. It's a consignment lot. I never have bought anything from them but I like their web site. It's fast and has a lot of pictures. They also have a list of the prices different RV's have sold for so good to get an idea what something is going for.

I went to Lafayette and went to Sam's . I know better than to buy the 42 pound bag of cat litter but I did it anyway. Now my shoulder is killing me. Oh, and I washed my van too. I'm sure that didn't help. Hope I can make it rain.

Martha

Pete on the singles forum sold his last rv at PPL. He only had good things to say about the experience. Course, that's different from buying, but I was glad to hear about his experience.

My parents bought a motorhome from PPL also. From what I can remember, they had no problems.
