Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, First day of June

Postby Carolinagal » Wed Jun 01, 2011 10:30 am

Good morning, still !!! Just checking in here, guess no one wanted coffee or anything else for breakfast, as its almost past. Can't let The first Wednesday of this month not have a good morning intro. Hope someone remembered Rabbits, especially Soos as she is on the road. Hope your travels are fun ones this time, Soos !!

I hope your day is going well for all of you. Hot here, really early, no work outside and had hoped to wash and wax the r.v. today. Can't do it in hot sun. Excuses, excuses LOL

No news from here, just tolerating these hot days for now. Read a book the other day and I haven't read in such a long time, really a nice relaxing and enjoyable day. Had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed reading, no time in past months for it. Hot days its a prefect pass time.

Have a good one, hope some of you are having a Great day, especially those on the roads.

Stay safe and cool,
CArol :)

I've been up and working since around seven, whew think I'm ready to relax but I still want to get Charley's bath done today. He's good once I have him in the tub but he is more reluctant to hop in as his hips aren't like they used to be. The other two are DONE yea!!! It takes me awhile, I can only work about an hour at a time then they are just done with me and I have to admit an hour is about all I can stand of working on them. DH of course has never been able to get the hang of even brushing out their coats, men have such a selective learning curve you know...I sometimes attribute it to him being an only child. I tell him if he had brothers and sisters and he half did a chore they would have ganged up on him and made sure he 'understood' how to do it right, at least that's how it worked when I was growing up. Oh well too late now to expect changes.

I didn't walk this morning when it was cooler out but I'm thinking all the stuff I've done around here will make up for it. How's that for rationalizing. The weatherman said last night that he didn't see and end to this heat an humidity in the foreseeable future....wonderful.

I may join you Carol in a long afternoon with a book or HGTV.

June 1, the first day of Hurricane season. There is already something coming across Florida. Would be nice if it would bring us some rain but no hurricane, thank you. It's suppose to be 99 today.

We have already been to physical therapy and back. I hope this is the last week he has to go. I am going to the doctor with my son this afternoon. He really doesn't need me but a good excuse to go to Lafayette and mess around. If it makes it to 99 it won't take me long to burn out.

Redetotry, I had to laugh when my son told me one of his girlfriends would get mad at him because she didn't like the way he cleaned. I thought she was darn lucky if she got him to do anything. I think he lives with blinders on and the ability to step over a mess without seeing it.

Oh, I was up. At 3 a.m., at 4 a.m., at 5 a.m. ... and so on. I'm burning on re-entry. I'm almost ready to go spend the night in the rig. Jeez.

Morning!
Cloudy, sprinkling...so what's new?!?! Highs for today? 60 :? Suppose to stay that way until Sunday and then they are predicting sunny and 80! :o Just can't plan anything around the weather so far.

Last Sunday I had my youngest GD for an overnighter. She is such fun, very girly. Sunday evening she and I did our make-up and painted our nails. She did a good job on my eye makeup, but my cheeks were bright red and she had trouble with doing my mascara on my right eye so I did that one. Then on Monday we decided to go to the mall. She wanted to do my make-up again, so I let her, except for the blush part. I did have to sneak into the bathroom and tone the eye shadow down a bit. I haven't been to the mall since before Christmas, but really needed some clothes as I've outgrown last summer's! :o :) For a 9 yr old she sure loves shopping, even if it's for someone else. I got several tops I like that she picked out and a new purse. We then shopped for her. I got her two pairs of shoes from Payless, then several tops from a store that was having 40% off. She bought herself some earrings with her allowance $$. We ate lunch at the food court then I needed a back massage. She had no problem with waiting for me as I got a 10 min massage, and this massage was like none other I'd ever gotten. It's an acupuncture massage. Wow, did he hit some sore spots!! AND I actually got massaged from the top of my head to my calves. Even my "big Bertha"!  My GD had to laugh at that! It was such a fun day and my GD kept thanking me over and over.

Today I"m awaiting the delivery of my pilates rebounder machine. I ordered it from QVC. I have always wanted one but as with past exercise machines, I've found I've gotten bored quickly, so have put off getting one. We'll see how it goes.....

Ok, need to eat some breakfast as my tummy is growling. Everyone, have a super day!

Good day, ladies. I must have been starving when I woke today. Up at 7:30am and before I had even had coffee (!!!!), I was halving plum tomatoes and they are baking for 8 hours at 250 sprinkled with herbs, salt & pepper, garlic and EVOO. I love these. It's like eating candy when you open your fridge and see those luscious tidbits sitting there.

Then it was coffee time and steel cut oatmeal with fresh raspberries on top. Worked on my computer but the stomach was starting to rumble smelling that wonderful aroma from the oven. So I blanched some green beans. The I poached a piece of salmon in water, fresh lemon juice and a little salt. While that was simmering, I whisked shallots, apple cider vinegar, lemon zest, lemon juice together. I fixed a plate with raw baby spinach leaves, those blanched green beans, sliced radishes, a sliced hard boiled egg, the poached salmon all drizzled with the vinaigrette that I had made. I may need to top it all off with a small square of dark chocolate for dessert.

Hmmmm....what should I make for dinner?

Joan, you are very ambitious today!

Speaking of massages... I had my interview at Massage Envy today for the esthetician position and I think it went very well! I will see if they call me back for a "practical" interview. It would be a part-time position eventually turning into a full-time position, so I could still work at Great Clips for awhile. The only down-side, is they don't offer health insurance.
Now I need to practice doing facials, in case they call me back. I will have to find some volunteers!

Got a call this morning from my dad saying my niece had a baby girl this morning! I guess that makes me a great aunt? He didn't tell me the name tho. That is the first baby in the family in 24 years (not counting my daughter).

Also got a call from a lady who is interested in renting the apartment. We are playing phone tag but hopefully will connect sometime today!

Forgot to say "rabbits" this morning since I thought tomorrow was the 1st of June! Oh well...

Low 70's and sunny right now in SoCal. Beautiful day! May go on a hike later on with the meet-up group.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good evening to all!

Mandy and I are in Annaheim Snug Harbor KOA campsite in Maryland tonight. So far, the traffic has been minimal, roads all in good shape, and weather wonderful, though very, very hot. We went swimming this evening, walking on their tiny trails, walking by the river, eating supper in the trailer with AC blasting, and will now hit the sack for an early start tomorrow to make our way through PA and find a campsite east of Binghamton to stay tomorrow night. Then the last day of travel will be NY State----perhaps east of 81 on some back country roads through the interior of the Adirondaks. We expect to be back in my northern home by Friday evening or night.

The trip has been really fun with Mandy along, and I am getting SO gooder with this trailer! We don't need to stow much, and, of course, don't need to unhook each night, and have found super campgrounds with plenty to do and nice cooling swimming pools. All in all, I have had a wonderful time, so far! I hope Melissa and Goog are having as good a time in Mexico. They are due back in St. Cloud on Friday, too.

I remembered to shout RABBITS this morning at about 3:00 when it was so cold in here I got up to turn down the AC!

Happy June to everyone.

Happy travels!
