Lazy Saturday

A morning post is a first for me. I guess everyone is having too much fun today. I am waiting for my son to get back from helping a neighbor work cattle so I can go to town. There is a farmers market in town this morning but don't know if I will make it before they close. Then a trip to Wal-Mart. Will try to get everything I need for the weekend so I don't have to go back to town.

It's going to be another hot, dry day here. It's almost 90 already.

It's been wonderfully cool here but think the heat is coming, supposed to be 90 here tomorrow  I've been out to the Farmer's Market to get some Thyme and tomato plants plus I promised WInnie some sugar snap peas. Thank goodness they had some, she is crazy for peas and was jumping on me before I got them out of the sack when I got home. We're sharing my third breakfast now of blueberries, strawberries, ground flax seed and organic cereal that looks like Cheerios, she likes the cereal but doesn't care for the fruit. I'm so glad she isn't spoiled ;)

I had a call yesterday to work with a man that has had hiccups for a couple of weeks and he is just beside himself as you can imagine. I was pretty worried as hiccups are something I wasn't sure how to work with. I consulted with the man I study with and then I started Googling and found the name and email address of the hypnotist that helped the little girl in Florida a few years ago. She was quite nice and sent a reply as to how she approached the problem. Both indicated that the treatment was pretty much instinctive but the woman in FL mentioned she also worked on the throat and solar plexus chakras. Since I combine Hypnosis and Reiki when I work I was feeling pretty optimistic. I happily left the man hiccup free but, they came back later a few hours after I left. He is such a nice person and I so wanted to help. I told him I would be happy to come back but he said he is busy until the first of the week. I didn't charge him and now I'm wondering if that is why he hesitated for me coming back. I hate to charge people especially if I know them. I feel it is a gift I have been given to share.

I worked today, then came and sat outside and watched birds. I got a new bird "sock" feeder. Never had one before. This one came full with food for the song birds. Since I see those birds here, but not at my birdfeeder, I thought, what's $4 and some change to maybe get them here. Amazing, it works - So more birds to watch

So far it's been absolutely beautiful here the last couple days and today. The rain and possible storms have stayed away, and if it makes it the rest of the day, I think clear skies are still predicted the rest of the weekend. I LOVE the sun. Yippeee.

Hope everyone on the road stays safe. Be extra careful on the holidays traveling. And hope everyone, no matter where you are, enjoys yourself whatever you're doing. And, please, take a moment to thank those who have served and/or are serving.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON ALL!

I have spent the day getting the trailer ready for the trip home. I checked the battery water again, checked tire pressure, greased hubs, shook out all rugs, laundered all bedding, and dusted. Tomorrow I will go back to the Orlando house for the last time, water my plants, pick up last minute stuff, lock up, and head back here. I believe we will head out Monday morning, Memorial Day, or not. Mandy has to be home by next Saturday, so I don't want to have to rush or drive many hundreds of miles if we have to lay over somewhere due to nasty weather. I hope to get to the Georgia KOA Monday afternoon, and see what gives from there. If the traffic seems too heavy to drive, I'll get off at a truck stop for the day and night. I am hoping for good weather on this trip.

I just discovered I have no updated insurance card for my truck---just one that expired in February. Damn company never mailed me an updated one, even though I know it's been paid for. Oh well----too late now to get one mailed.

Temperature is very hot and humid here today, so I turned on the AC in the trailer. When Goog and the crew get back from wherever they went, we will make sure my generator will run my AC.....can't remember if I ever used it, or not, but was told it should run it. We had a teensy bit of rain last evening, and thunderstormas all around us today but not here yet. I hope Orlando got some rain yesterday.

The Casey Anthony trial is like a novel. I still have no clue how that baby died, who was the father, or anything about the death. My theory is that Casey killed her, accidentally with chloroform, when trying to put her to sleep and shut her up so she could party. Casey is a pathological liar, so nothing that has ever come out of her mouth do I believe. I still have a weird feeling about her and her brother's relationship, rather than the father. Some things that Lee said early on when things were just beginning to be reported as a crime made me think something is not right with those siblings. Fascinating to see things unfold, however.

Happy weekend, and I will stay in touch on my way home if I am able. I am not looking forward to this trip whatsoever.

Well, it's just about time to say good night ladies. Seems we are all enjoying lots of good weather for a change. I too the goddess to a geocaching event this morning at the science center. We saw lots of good friends and had some fun. That was my birthday present to her. Plus, with her bum knee, it was my excuse to get Seeker out of the back yard. We went early and backed into a shady sight. Several friends knew we'd be there and came by to visit and brought gifts. Another good friend and fellow cacher brought a wheel chair and pushed her all around the museum. We stayed all morning and had a great time. By noon we were back in the camper and ready to head out but first pain meds for her.

Since this is a safe place to vent, let me say how much I hate insurance companies. Goddess had 2 surgeries on her knee last year and here we are nearly a year later and she is suffering with a knee that is basically bone on bone and some stupid brace that doesn't seem to help. In fact, the fit was causing her calf muscle to knot up so tight last week that I took her to the hospital thinking she had a blood clot and they thought so too. Only a doppler test convinced us all that it was a knotted muscle. Now they have her on muscle relaxers and pain meds with more therapy starting next week. but I still say that nothing will help when it's bone on bone. Either put some kind of a cushion in there between those bones or put in a new knee. But her insurance says she has to try the therapy to be sure it won't work before going for more surgery. Huh??? So, remember the catch 22? If you don't have health insurance in this country you are in deep kimchee and if you do sometimes they dump the kimchee right on your head it seems.

Ok, thanks for letting me vent. Goddess is home on her couch with an ice pack and her pills. I will push her to call the doctor again after the holiday and try to push them to do more. In the meantime, I think I'll stay here in my corner and try not to say anything bad. But it's tough.

Enjoy what's left of the day!
