Good morning ladies!
This is the first time I've started the morning post, and I've got a pot of coffee, hot chocolate, toast & fresh strawberries, so please help yourselves.
The weather has been absolutely delightful the past few days, with tons of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to high 80's. It looks like the Memorial weekend weather is going to be just as nice as the past couple days have been. I'm looking forward to leaving tomorrow afternoon after work to go to the "local to us" campground. Fortunately we can take all back roads to avoid the holiday traffic on the main highways.
I will need to check in on my parents and my sister before I leave to make sure everyone will be ok for the weekend.
Take care & have a good day, wherever you are.

Hi Irmi! great breakfast
Seems like the weather pattern shifted here? Not so humid this morning and blue sky too!
Just found out my DD will be out of town Tue and Wed of next week, so I'm leaving on Tue instead of Thurs for trip home to CA. I'm looking forward to a couple nights at Balmorhrea State Park. It's another one of those amazing Texas springs.
All the chores on my list are for packing and getting condo ready for departure. But will have plenty of time for fun with DD and DGD over week-end.
Have a great day!!

SOGGY Thursday for us here in the PNW! Yuck! They are saying in another week we MIGHT reach 70 again.
We are at flood stage on many of our rivers now. Lots of debris in the water, strong currents etc.
Last night I watched the finale of American Idol. Funny how the last two were country singers. Both are great kids. I hope fame doesn't change them as they are only 16 & 17!
Tonight I'll have my two GDs. Their Mom has a layover flight to Vegas and their Dad got called in for overtime. He will pick them up on his way home from work in the AM to get them home and to school.
I forgot yesterday to take the dog in for his free nail trim. Need to keep up on that.
Enjoying the newest additions to several of your blogs. Great job ladies!
Praying for the tornado victims. Watched an interview with a very young bride who lost her husband as they layed in their bathtub. He layed over her to protect her and something impaled him. I'm sure there are going to be many heartbreaking stories such as this.
You all have a good day. Stay safe!

Morning ladies! Tea and toast for me, please, Irmi.
It's another stormy morning here in the Music City, but the weather gurus promise it is coming to an end today and that we can look forward to 5 days in a row of pure sunshine. Now if they could just do something about those darn cicadas! We took the kids outside yesterday for a fire drill and it was just plain crazy. Boys were catching the bugs and putting them on the girls who were screaming and jumping. Even some of the boys are afraid of the darn things. I'm just tired of them flying into you all the time. Mantra time: This too shall pass.
Only 3 more classroom days! Wednesday I'm taking my hall pass and adjourning with some friends at my favorite Irish pub for some good Irish food/music/beer and to visit with friends one last time. No word on the couple who came to see the house and seemed so interested. But I keep hoping....

Good Afternoon, just missed morning due to another severe thunderstorm with hail
These storms just keep coming:
"Huntsville Times 10:30 AM, HUNTSVILLE, AL -- Stormy weather that battered the power system in Madison County early today may be repeated this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
The Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 5 p.m. The best chance of severe weather will be east of Interstate 65 this afternoon and early evening with damaging winds, large hail and dangerous lightning, forecasters said.
A line of strong thunderstorms that triggered a tornado warning shortly after midnight was blamed for blowing limbs and trees into power lines, knocking out power to a number of areas.
Huntsville Utilities spokesman Bill Yell said utility crews had repaired nine substation circuits by 3:30 a.m.
The storms knocked out power in large areas of northern Madison County, including Madison Cross Roads, Ardmore, Harvest, Meridianville, Hazel Green. Also affected were customers in the Baltimore Hill, Countess, Moores Mill, Eakin roads areas in the northeastern part of the county. Power failures were also reported in Chicamauga Trail, Vestavia, Triana Boulevard and Clubview Drive areas."
My power held throughout the night but sister and cousin are still without power. The latest storm that came thru about an hour ago was loaded with pea size hail. At least the insurance adjustor has not been by to inspect roof yet. Once we get passed tonight, weather should be near perfect for holiday weekend and beyond.
HorizonSeeker: Are you planning a party for your retirement? The very first gtg I attended was in Nashville when SunshinecruiserTN threw herself a retirement/late birthday party a couple of years ago.
Wishing all a great day and NO storms!

Good grief, Sarah! Just when I thought things were safe in your area, and the storms just keep coming. I hope you don't lose your electric this time and if you do, that the outage is short lived. Please stay safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Yep it's still morning here for another 15 minutes!
Todays weather is bright blue sky and lots of wind. Tuesday morning when I took Shade outside to P my little porch was covered and before she and I went in it started spitting snow pellets on us. ~sigh~ I'm so sick of snow and cold. I'm more than ready for warm and flowers......
Nothing much really to report from this little corner. Simply working, go home cook & eat, do a little reading then go to bed. My life is so wildly exciting I really don't know how I manage to handle it.
Have been keeping everyone in my prayers, so I'm hoping other than a few bumps that all are doing ok? Have a good day ya'll and please be safe.
Love to all

Wow, Sarah! So sorry about the continued power problems in your area. Hope your sister et al get fixed up soon. So many storms, so many places, it's mind-boggling.
We're expecting more storms here in VA mts tomorrow, but it is a beautiful breezy day today in the 70s. Had another nice hike this morning, and a nice nap this afternoon. I'm really enjoying the pace of this trip.
Pray everyone will keep their eyes on the weather and stay safe.

I must admit, I experienced more power outages in that area of AL than anyplace else I've ever lived - and that was without these storms. But it did seem that power went out a lot there. Luckily, Sarah, it doesn't seem to be staying out. And this time at least I give them the excuse of they are still rebuilding the entire grid system they lost. I hope in the long run they rebuild it better than it was before and maybe then you won't have so many outages when it's done! Hoping.

Just a quick update. Everyone in family has power again and the weather seems to have started settling down. As far as I know the only damage from this latest round was downed trees, power lines, blocked roads, etc.
Starting tomorrow the forecast is for 5 days of calm sunshine!!!! I'm just hoping for a long, quite weekend.
