SNOWY THURSDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SNOWY THURSDAY

Postby pattyk » Thu May 19, 2011 9:52 am

Well, I guess everybody is sleeping in today. Thought I would get this started.

Sue, I'm glad you are able to work at your campground. I still can't get into mine. It snowed again last night. I am able to work the picnic area on Friday's and Saturdays.

This is really a drag. I know there is lots of work to be done at the campground and here I sit.

Good morning Patty & all who follow!

Patty, I hope the snow clears so you can get into the campground to start your job for the season.

It's in the mid 60's here today with clouds, sunshine and rain all making a showing here today. The weekend is supposed to be nice and sunny and warm!

Today is my last day of work for the week as hubby & I will be going to the big city to pick up my sister and take her home. I called several of her neighbors yesterday evening to see if I could recruit some help to get her into the house once we get home. She has several steps leading up to her front door and since she can't put any weight on her left foot, we need to see about getting her into the house. Someone suggested sitting her in a chair and carrying her into the house that way, which may not be a bad idea.

The fiscal year for the business I work for is coming up and I've been pricing inventory all week and I'm hoping to finish that today.

Take care everyone & have a fantastic day!

I'm up and have been working on the 'list'. So far I'm plugging right along, for some reason since DH is gone I'm more inclined to work around the house. Can't figure that out as it isn't like he is in the way, he is in his room painting when he is home. I have all the curtains washed and back up, not such a big job as I only have curtains in a few windows. We have those old fashioned storm windows except for our back room & I can't get those off to wash them on the outside. We plan to have the house painted this year, ack ack deciding on what color will maybe take another year :? and of course since I am allergic to paint I have to leave, yet another problem.

Patty sorry the weather isn't cooperating so you can get to work, I know you must be bored just waiting around. Anyone nearby you can go visit?

The dogs are on extra alert, think they must take turns during the night and last night Winnie announced she 'heard' something which of course started the other dogs barking, I had to get up to assure all was well . I used to have an Irish Setter back in another life in a lonely farm house and every time my then DH would go away she would appoint herself in charge of guarding me and the house. Every fifteen minutes she would patrol all the windows and give a bit of a woof just to let any marauding burglars to beware. It was funny for awhile then pretty annoying, I had six dogs at that time so if they all started in it was quite a racket. Guess it was a good thing we didn't have close neighbors!

Guess I'll put brunch out since most have missed breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit and scrambled eggs with English Muffins.

Looks like it will be sunny here today. Supposed to get up to 76 this afternoon, which is much better than the 50's of yesterday! Was starting to feel too much like Minnesota weather! Ack!

I have a woman who is interested in taking over my lease but she doesn't have the deposit money for it, so I told her (via e-mail) that we would pay that for her if she should decide to move in. Hope to hear something positive today from her! That wouldn't give me much time to find another place but there are a lot of rooms for rent around here right now, so that shouldn't be a problem. A friend of mine at work said I could stay at her place for a short time if I needed to.

I also applied for an esthetician position at Massage Envy near me, so we'll see how that goes...

So lots of potential changes here. Cross your fingers for me!

Hope you all have a great day!

Just now getting a chance to be on the board today. Came in early to make some copies for the kids' review work. Finals have been moved up to next week. The original finals schedule was for 2 half days after Memorial Day but since our crowd is very apt to not even show up for those days we are giving the finals next week and using those half days as make up days. I'm OK with that as I have all my exams written and ready to go, but I did have some other things to do on the review sheets. Then I get here and find that our usual police officer is not here so we had to hold up everything until an officer could be reassigned here. Probably no big deal in some schools but most of my students are drug and/or violent offenders and my collegues and I won't go into the classroom unless we have uniformed back up. Whew!! 8 more classroom days!

Now where is all that yummy brunch?

Nan and I are living at Camping World today. She's having an inverter installed on her RV so she can boondock and use it to run her C-pap machine at night. Right now I think she's taking a nap in one of the folding lounge chairs they sell. Weather that was cold the past two days has turned springlike beautiful.

Afternoon travel pals! Good luck at Camping World Nan! Liz, check out the bikes while you are there. They let me take a test ride around the parking lot; that's what sold me, it's a sturdy little bike!

Oh Patty, more rain, it's driving my sister in the foothills nuts, the boys can't get in the pool. Too cold. And not the best for Dad's garden either. Probably no spring this year, it will go straight to summer!

I've been out for hours. My DD car is in shop, so I was on shuttle duty for school and work this morning. Then to Walmart for oil change. Next to Half Price Books for a couple audio books for trip home to CA. With the new shocks on my van I am all set!

It's a bit drizzly here, but still very warm. Tomorrow night we will camp out a McKinney again. This time no extra kids, so it will be a quiet night, I hope. ;)

Have a fun afternoon, or evening......

The old phrase raining cats and dogs would fit for me right now. Was not raining this morning when Peaches and I walked - just overcast and gloomy. I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and then was going to go to Walmart, but the skies towards the cg looked really bad and I know Peaches hates thunder, so I came home. Saved me money :) Now she is curled up tight against my side, as thunder is booming occasionally. I so am looking forward to the sun - maybe Sunday. But I hate to complain as I'm in such good shape over Carolyn and those battling things in La still.

Good luck on the CW work being done. I have decided I will never get work done at a CW again unless it's a last resort. Last few things they did I had to have redone. Still will purchase from the store and online, but like independent rv places better in most cases. Hope Nan has a better experience than I have had.

Supposed to go out to dinner tonight. Will see what this weather is doing come 5. Will make some people upset if I cancel - but hey, I go out for the comaraderie - but while I have to work and leave Peaches if bad - I don't have to go out to eat and leave her.
