Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day! I’m fortifying myself with some coffee then going to take a shower and head off to see my mom and sister. I won’t be seeing my children today. Ryan has a crew coming in to help him brand calves and Sean left Friday morning for his summer job in Custer. But I do have a beautiful bouquet from Ryan and Ashley. Sean gifted me with the fact that he made the dean’s list for the third straight semester…oh yes and the bill for his car insurance! Dennis is burning the midnight oil trying to catch up on field work since the weather has been very uncooperative he’s about three weeks behind. So I’m pretty much left to my own devices today! Good news for all of us is that I heard that gas prices are suppose to drop about .50 a gallon within the next month. I sure hope that is true!
Have a great day.

Good morning ladies and Happy Mothers Day to you moms among us. My two are still sleeping but I expect to hear from daughter
later on and son has already left a potted rose plant in the kitchen so that I would find it when I made the coffee. I've always
been the early bird in the family. Will amuse myself with a few chores this morning and then its off to work at noon.
Enjoy your day and everyone be safe, especially worried about those in the flood plain.

Happy Mother's Day!!
We have a beautiful weather morning underway here in north AL, birds singing, Nicky and Roe joyfully chasing chipmunks. Hard to comprehend that this time last week I was in the dark with limited communication capability, and desperately searching for place to get enough gas to be able to leave here.
My family was very fortunate in that none of us had any serious damage to property or life. The basement in my rental house flooded, still near waist deep on Friday; sump pumps don't function without power. Minor relative to what others suffered.
Liz & I are looking forward to an uneventful day as we get ready to leave tomorrow. I'm going to take her out for lunch today and will pick up something for dinner that can be grilled so she can give me another lesson on her grill. (I know it sounds strange but I've never cooked on gas or used an outdoor grill.)
Wishing all of you a peaceful day.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!
I'm back at St. Cloud, and it's hot and sunny and VERY buggy with lovebugs today. When I got here yesterday, there were hardly any out by the pool, but this morning I have been scooping and scooping them out of the water. Maybe a breeze will come up later, and blow some of them away! The water really feels good today.
Last night the kids took me out to dinner at a nice little restaurant on Main Street St. Cloud. It's in the historic section of town with old buildings that have been renovated and made useful once again.....very pretty street with the town hall at the end of it. We sat on the sidewalk outside, under a canopy all lighted up with rope lights, nice breeze blowing, across from what used to be the train station. Just a bit from that is a teeny little police station. There was a biker/barbecue get together on the waterfront yesterday and last night, so we went there after dinner and walked around, listening to live music at the band shell and visiting the vendors' tents. I finished up my dinner with chocolate mint chip ice cream made on the site at the park----they freeze the mixure as you watch with liquid nitrogen vaporized right into the bowl! Quite unique!
In lieu of going to a crowded beach in the hot sun, we are staying right here next to the pool, sipping cold beers and swimming and lounging and listening to MP3 music over my trailer speaker system I set up. Tough day at the farm!
May you all have a fun day whatever you choose to do!

Daughter and GD picked me up at 0730 to take me to breakfast at IHOP...love their whole grain and nut pancakes! We had a leisurely breakfast and the the place really started to jump, so we came back here and chatted for a while. No big plans for the rest of the day, just a quick trip over to the other GD's to take her some flowers and a card. She's only 2 miles from here. Maybe a trip to the grocery. Hope everyone has a great day!

Afternoon here already, I've been to church and had lunch. The service today was fun, the children all came into the auditorium to join in and it was so nice. They did bell ringing to music that all ages could participate in, the leader held up the color of the bell to be played at the appropriate time. One little girl was dressed in a colorful Snow White dress that I'm sure she had insisted on wearing for the occasion! Two very young girls play a violin duet and then they all took part in passing out flowers to the women. After the service they had a Maypole on the lawn. There were smiles everywhere. The kids are so proud of themselves that they are allowed to take part and all the adults enjoy watching them.

Well, so its past morning! My earlier post went away. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms of human and pet kids! I survived 6th grade field trip with gdtr, I got the group that didnt seem to require sleep! Had fun with liz and sarah for a couple of days, just unfortunate what the circumstances were. But sarah got to relax a little before heading back to Huntsville. Went up to my cg yesterday, one half ok other half completely gone (my site). Had not taken the camper up there yet, talked to the security guy he said they were trying for Memorial Day weekend to open, but he himself had his doubts. Everyone have a safe and fun day tonight and tomorrow. Wendy
