Good Morning from the 45th

A cloudy, chilly morning here at the 45th. Supposed to be a nice day later on though. Highs into the 50's and low 60's. Spring is on a roller coaster aruond here. Been more cold and wet than nice and sunny. Wednesday we were working in shirt sleeves or sweatshirts, in 60 degree weather and yesterday, bundled up in jackets, gloves etc., as it barely made 50, with a stiff wind blowing. Needless to say, the growing season is behind.

Making progress in the park every day. Grounds are looking good, still picking up leaves and sticks and so forth. All the campground buildings are cleaned and ready to go as is our mini cabin and beach day use building. Two of the bathroom/shower buildings are now open and we had about 7 camps in the park as of quitting time yesterday. Morel mushroom hunters start coming in this time of year. Not finding very many though. Too cold for them to pop out.

My grass is growing like weeds. Well it is mostly weeds  . Will be out cutting it this week on my days off. My TT is back from the dealers, all set and ready to hit the road. Now I can get inside and finish installing my cupboard doors and get that project done. Been too cold to glue the extra wood strips in that I have ready to install. Will be doing that later this weekend or Monday on my day off. Can't go anyplace anyway, as I have appointments on my day's off this week. Am hoping to go the following week, but of course weather is looking chilly and rainy again, so shall see what happens. The parks won't be really busy till Memorial Day weekend and that's just for the weekend, till after schools are out next month. So I can pretty well just go on spur of moment right now.

Today is our annual staff orientation day. So will be sitting in a meeting all day. Always new things to learn and find out about, plus some interacting among ourselves to show the new people how to handle certain situations that can crop up, a few team work games etc. It can be both boring and fun. Then tomorrow I have to work my regular scheduled day. This weekend I start working weekends.

Sounds like everybody's busy this time of year. Some are starting to haul out on the roads, others are wishing. But have a great day everyone, no matter what you are doing.

good morning ladies
seems like such a long time since I've done a really good post, just nothing happening in my world other than work. But it
won't always be that way. Eventually I'll have some time to actually do something fun, and it could be as soon as June. There
is no summer school in June. If the gas prices could come down just a tad I'll be able to put some gas in the tank and take a day trip or two. Something to look forward to at least, for now.
Going out to check on my fifth wheel this morning and get a few things I need, especially my little washing machine. It will
make life much easier for me if I can do my laundry when I want to. Snagged the help of one of my sons friends for a little
muscle as son has to work today.
Enjoying my coffee, have fed the girls and they are back to bed already. Next up is go out and clean out the car for the
trip and get ready to go as soon as the bank opens. Little friend is suppose to be here by 9.
Enjoy your day and be safe, will check in with you girls on occasion.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The day has dawned sunny, cool, and beautiful here in Central FL. The kids in St. Cloud called me last night and wanted me to come there today to spend the day with them, and then go to an east coast beach tomorrow, followed by a lobster dinner out for Mother's Day. Last night I was thinking that might be fun, but on second thought today, I think I will just stay right here as it's only been the last couple of days that my cough has been better enough to enjoy doing things again. I was planning to take myself out to the Boston Lobster Feast tonight anyway, which I think I will still do. After all, why spend as much for a lobster dinner for just ONE lobster when I could have as many as I can eat for the same price right here!

They will call me when they get up, and I am hoping they won't feel snubbed if I decide to stay right here where I am very comfy. Next weekend they will go to Tampa to celebrate Mother's Day with Melissa's mom.

But, on third thought, perhaps I will go there for today, and bow out of the beach trip tomorrow----it's supposed to be in the 90s again tomorrow and, if the rip currents are prevalent at the beaches, they won't let us swim anyway. Obviously I can't make up my mind what to do! I can always go to Boston Lobster next week. Oh my----the agonies of retired life!! I can always swim in the pool there after I get it all shoveled out of love bugs and debris! I need to ask them the diameter of that pool as I can't remember, and then get a solar blanket for it that sits directly on the water surface to help keep bugs and debris out of it. The cover it has now blows off in strong winds which are very common there. I saw a solar blanket at the local WalMart here.

I hope all you moms will have a fun weekend, whether doing something alone, or with your kids. Those who aren't moms I am sure are probably moms to 4-footers, so hug them and go for a walk with them!

Happy weekend!

Good morning Sue, Ava, Soos and all who follow. It's raining again here, just what we don't need! Here is a link to a video of the area flooding. It is just hard to imagine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UjhxkeONBc

I'm hoping the rains slack up a bit as I want to go to the farmers market and get a strawberry rhubarb pie. There is a group of ladies who come with baked goods every Sat. and their pies are fab, I think they use the same pie crust recipe as my Granny used. I can still picture her mixing and rolling and the pies I make I don't have recipes as I can just visualize her at work. I also still have her mixing bowl although I don't use it. She learned to cook using a fireplace with cast iron! I also have the big kettle she made lye soap in, she used to wash dishes in that stuff ACK I can smell it just thinking about it.

Rain has quit for the moment, so I'm off to the market. Have a great day all. Good luck with all your social decisions Soos!

Speaking of strawberries, I bought a 4 pound container of strawberries for under $5 this week and they are the BEST strawberries. I'm pigging out on them :) Yum.

Beautiful day here in PA - for the 2nd day in a row. YAY. Peaches wants to know why beautiful day means extra brushing both days? But that extra undercoat she got since arriving here is all coming out. She's so purdy. She's sleeping now - that was work, letting me comb and comb and comb.

Have a great day all.
